at the funeral for my grandfather, Richard R. Jordan of Groton, CT, this song was sung. he sang every day, all the time. no matter what the conversation was, he would have a song to match it and sing little bits of it ! a great man he was, he walked around local hospitals all floors, door to door, with his oxygen tank rolling behind him, and would ask each and every patient if they would like a song or two. bless his soul, he loved this song dearly. rest in peace.
Where do I find this recording? It is a good, singable version; simple, nice harmonies. However, the wrong words at 1:05ish is too distracting for singing along, so I would like to make our own home church version.
Pity Enya doesn't mention Jesus in her version of this song. Although she she sings about clinging to the Rock which is Jesus, the record studio probably wouldn't allow it in her case, since she is not a gospel singer.
What's there to pity? You don't need jesus or religion to have faith or to keep hope alive. I honestly think her version is better with no religious connotations because it's purer to have belief without needing a receptacle for it.
💖💜💙💚💛💝 Beautiful. 😍🙏

@@Failisse In order to have belief, you have to believe in something. That doesn't make it "less pure."
