Here is some insight into what it's like living in Florida. We were so fortunate to have suffered no damage at all. We barely got some winds and rain. However, many others were not so fortunate. If you are able to donate, please consider doing so. I am linking an organization that my sister has volunteered with a couple of times so we trust their work.

I live in NYC and always wondered why people live in Florida when so many storms hit there. These storms can kill and ruin homes and home property value. What keeps you there and will you move?

I've pretty much lived here my entire life. I personally could see myself living somewhere else but not necessarily to get away from hurricanes. Natural disasters can happen pretty much in all parts of the U.S/world. If I didn't live in Florida, I'd have to possibly deal with snow storms, earthquakes, tornadoes. I guess what I'm getting at is, things happen everywhere so I can't live my life focusing on the possibility of a hurricane hitting us. Make sense?
