    In 2016 I join Sainsbury's cleaning staff and was introduced to Henry for the first time, it had been introduced to the team about 5 years earlier so when I got there it was going strong for 5 years, I left the cleaning job in 2017 for something more full time and said goodby to Henry. It's now 2020 and according to my old supervisor Henry is still going strong and the only replacement it's needed was bags when they get full. That vacuum is built like a tank, I got one for my flat 2 years ago and still going strong, seriously built to last.

      lol thats the problem with modern stuff... 5 years is considered long lasting, some people even think 2 years is considered a long life!
      Henries are quite capable of lasting 25+ years, like everything did 20+ years ago.

I thought it may mean a more powerful motor, but from what you said they all seem to come with the 620W motors, or am I missing something ? I have just bought a Numatic NRV 240-11 after decades of using a popular but expensive bagless upright brand. This model is the Commercial version with a 9 liter capacity and has a basic tool kit but it really cleans very well and better than my old upright. The cleaner is British made and the accessories and spares are not expensive and plentiful. I would say do your research as there are many versions but all basically the same good robust and efficient cleaner but with varying capacities and different accessories as standard. The smiling Henry face does give a lift to cleaning duties too.

    The biggest reason the Henry cordless did so poorly is that it's fitted with the old style of nozzle. If it was fitted with the newer, plastic one it would have fared better. As for that airo brush yeah it's alright on pet hair but it's just so noisy in use. It's a real shame that they discontinued the Henry hound. That would have wiped the floor with all of them.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Před 6 lety +12

      I tried one of the newer nozzles with Henry cordless and it was worse than using the supplied nozzle. Numatic will have tried different variants of nozzles with the cordless version before deciding which one to include with the cleaner. Yes, the Henry Hound would have outperformed all of them and hopefully Numatic will introduce another powerhead version at some point.

    • @handsoffmycactus2958
      @handsoffmycactus2958 Před 5 lety +4

      The Airo brush should be included with all models, you can buy cheap ones on Amazon which are good, even if you don't have pets, they do a better job of removing crap from carpets and rugs than the standard head, which is only good for short piles or hard floors

    Henry’s are great robust, reliable cheap and good performing hoovers. They are simple, nothing really ever goes wrong with them. I have a Shark cordless that I do my day to day hoovering with as it’s so convenient and the carpet brush is good for lifting hair, but when I do a deep clean I get the trusty old Henry out. A Henry with a new bag could suck a golf ball through a garden hose!

    great video. I am looking into a henry. We clean residential home with a standup Karcher 30/1 vac at the moment. I was only curious to the change of the henry not having a power head.. but you do use the air turbine end. My concern is the ladies are not very useful if the turbine would get plugged... but they likely would not put it through the challenge you did in this video which is appealing. Any concern with the way i am thinking. I also am thinking this vac as it would be less ackward for them i believe vs the standup model.

    What one would you recommend for car detailing and pet hair in the car.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Před 2 lety +2

      They are all basically the same. You can buy additional tools for any Henry including a car cleaning kit that includes a hose extension, extra long crevice tool and mini turbo brush.

    My house is all laminated flooring and tiled. The only carpet I have is the stairs and the landing which isn’t big at all. Which would you recommend?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Před 3 lety +1

      As they are all pretty much the same, it doesn’t matter, though I prefer the Compact versions as they are easier to handle. At the moment if you buy a Henry or Hetty from my Henry.co.uk, you get a free car care kit which includes a hose extension that can be used when cleaning stairs, a mini turbo brush and a long flexible crevice tool.

    I got that for Christmas today! in 2022

  • @insertnewchannelnamehere739

    I have a mistake you made, i think u said regular henry is the only one to have a LO-HI speed selection but the henry cordless also has that

    This is a good video looking at the comparison of the different versions. I must admit the new 160 model is not impressive, the bucket you can pretty much dent in with your finger, and the motor has been cut from 1200 to 620 watts!

    • @a.a674
      @a.a674 Před 6 lety +2

      ajs2120 Dont think the video does it justice.The 160 is the best thing since sliced bread.coming from someone who's owned every henry ever.

      @ajs2120 Před 6 lety

      If you were there at the beginning when the first Henry's came out in the early 80's then you would see the difference over the years is unbelievable.Numatic have seriously cut costs in areas, which is a shame really given how good their machines are/were. The mid 2000's hi/low function was a complete flop, so many of these failed and were binned when all they needed was to bypass that and it would be alive again!

      ajs2120 Yh ik.Ive got the first model machine and its a complete juxtaposition to the Newest one.Hi Lo was a decent idea till the introduction of the second board run in 09ish.They are good for bringing money in though so a blessing in disguise for us vac repairers
