  • Live improv with the Hydrasynth and GR-1 colouring the journey into the unfathomably vast scope available between floating ambiances and rougher drones often left unexplored because things in this world are often preferred black and white. This is a mere glance into that territory, but something nonetheless. Take a dive into the void, for it is vibrant and inviting.
    Equipment used:
    ASM Hydrasynth Desktop
    Tasty Chips GR-1
    Arturia Keystep 37
    Do you need synth of percussive performances for your works, soundtracking, scoring, really anything of the sort regardless of style or genre? Contact me with your proposal at resonanthouse@gmail.com

    Hello 👋 This is ace! I love the contrast you have in mood and cinematic shifts… light reflection with hints of pending unknowns… and then the hydra does it’s lovely job of providing the grit 🙏🏻💎 I’ve subbed after watching this video… I’m watching it again tomorrow properly… great work.
    I also love to make a good drone 😉
    I’ll check out more of your channel this weekend, probably tomorrow 👍

    Excellent work. Very nice soundscape. Your not using using a DAW or VST FX? . Always wanted a GR1 - however I am using the Straylight VST with Portal

      I'm using Reaper to record everything, and just have a master limiter/compressor/eq chain to even out some volume bumps and the most vile frequencies, but no external FX/plugins otherwise, and what you hear is what I'm playing 1:1, without edits or re-takes.
      I can definitely recommend looking into the GR-1, it's an entirely different beast when compared to what's available in the granular plugin world (or other hardware). Thoroughly love it.

    Great one! Do you use MPE somehow? And do you life prosessing sound? From Hydra? Or play recorded one?

    • @resonanthousemusic
      @resonanthousemusic  Před měsícem +1

      The pads on the Hydra have their own MPE, and the Keystep is also an MPE controller and the GR-1 supports it, albeit I'm not entirely sure if the lattet pair deploys anything else apart from velocity here.
      This is a live take, so what you hear is exactly what you see, improvisation, tweaks and all. Only ulterior processing is a master chain in my DAW to bring up the volume and compress the two tracks together a bit more.

      @@resonanthousemusic keystep is only velosity sesitive..-imxo..but my question was- about GR-1- is it Mpe?..( newer read it..)…but most important-how you manage to life process sound..? Its has no sound input..right?..)

    • @resonanthousemusic
      @resonanthousemusic  Před měsícem +1

      @@andropolonsky Ah, I see. The GR is MPE compatible. It is essentially a sampler, which can contain as many samples as 4 x USB devices can hold, and you can load those into it and then control everything live with the device. It has no live input as such, but can sample things directly into itself through a sound card (so you can run any synth/source into a usb interface, then connect that to the GR's usb port, and sample anything going into the interface). It's not a hardware effect, in other words, but a synth of its own (sort of).

      @@resonanthousemusic great news! Gr1- mpe!)…so i can pley with linnstr..)..or Osmose..). and i gess it can be easily pair with ipad ?- usb c- to usb B..- i gess..)…maybe do you try it that way?..

      @@andropolonsky Yeah, should pair up with those. I haven't tested it with an iPad, but as long as it receives midi info accordingly, it'll work.
