- In the Altai valley of Mongolia, several eagle masters gather to hunt wolves. Each Master wants his eagle to hunt the wolf, it would be a great homage for the spirits of kazakh’s ancestors. After this hunt, and after many years of friendship, Kazakh people have to set their eagles free.

Truly amazing and heart-warming to see this wonderful presentation of the Kazakh culture and the relationship of humans with eagles. What an excellent and wonderful tradition. Hopefully it will continue despite modernity. Humans need to keep alive the balance and partnership with nature.

Eagle and falcon hunting was tradition of ancient nomadic people. The hunting tradition was very popular among Qidan people who is para Mongolic people and found Liao dynasty in Today’s Manchuria. They moved to todays Kazakhstan in 11th century and eagle hunting tradition become popular among Kazakh people since then.
