A path to Freedom - My Vipassana meditation experience?

  • My experience was difficult yet amazing. The first few days really tested my patience and resolve. I didn't really know what I was getting into yet I trusted my friend who recommended the retreat so I hung on. By day four it became more clear what we were doing and why. Growth came slowly and painfully yet in the end it was so rewarding. This is a true path to freedom and liberation from craving, pain, suffering etc... It's NO easy fix. It's a long path. It's takes time, practice yet it's the greatest gift you can give yourself. This is the technique that was discovered and taught by Gautama Buddha to reach enlightenment. Below are links to help you find a retreat, an amazing song by Mackelmore and my website if you wish to learn more about me. I wish you true peace, liberation and happiness!

      +gasserdk - ooh just saw ur comment, sorry about d late reply. Well, bfor i continue i just wanna say; Everyones experience is different. Im only going to speak for myself and say; it was one of d most amazing experiences of my life! I had sum pretty profound experiences, one of which was an OBE. The food was amazing. The teachers (we had two) wer great. i got to know myself and my mind/thoughts in very deep level. Im not going to say much more than that and i think this video covers it great. U just have to go experience it for urself! As i mentioned, keep in mind... Everyone's experience is different.
      My advice for those interested in going would be; before going, set ur mind on staying for the entire ten days... Do NOT leave. Its 10 days of ur life, its nothing, decide on staying no matter wat. U will b very glad u did. And the second thing would b to not get lazy with ur meditation sessions. Keep in mind why u went there and try to make the very best out of d experience. Xx

After 3rd course i kept on practicing mostly everyday, i cant say there is big difference but certainly when i look back and now. I am happier person and my surroundings, because one of my close fren and i had same problems in life. Now he can feel the big changes and transformation inside me. My every day sittings metta is always with you to all my DHAMMA BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

    A friend of mine who teaches vipassana has for years been trying to get me to go. I had been contemplating it for a month or so, watching videos, reading material etc and it wasn't until I came across your video that I decided to just do it. So thank you for giving me the confidence to do something different. The course starts Feb 18th. I'm very nervous and anxious. I'm curious how long during the ten days you got over the pain associated with sitting so long and did u have prior meditation experience. Also what was it like returning and experiencing something negative in your environment ? (such as work, a person)

    • @DallasMichaelCyr
      @DallasMichaelCyr  Před 9 lety +1

      Tanya I want to thank you for your honest and vulnerable share. That is the reason why I coach and the reason why I make these videos in the hopes that it will help people stretch past their comfort zones and experience more of their full potential. Before going to vipassana I did have a little bit of meditation experience and I was able to sit for about a half an hour without too much trouble. During the vipassana I experienced soreness and pain the whole time but it became very easy to manage and almost unnoticeable at times. They provide for you kneeling benches where you can sit in a comfortable position and there are plenty of blankets and pillows to prop yourself up. Also I have done a good job of eliminating negativity from my life and have been in a very good place for quite some time now so being in silence was not as hard for me as it might be for some but no matter what the process is life changing and I highly recommend it for anyone I understand it's scary but I'm confident it's nothing you can't handle.

    Thanks for your vid. I have a question for older folks. What if you have some back issues and need back support? Sitting on the floor for more than 5 minutes and I feel crippled in pain when i get up. how do they deal with these issues. can you put your back against a wall with a cushion instead of the yoga back support meditation products? thanks

    • @DallasMichaelCyr
      @DallasMichaelCyr  Před 9 lety +3

      Vipassana meditation retreats are 100% free! Everything included. They won't even let you donate until the end of the retreat then you donate what you can or nothing at all. Some go there without even a ride home. Some will donate their time and service if they have no money. I donated $250.00. As for the rest of my development let's just say a lot. Yet many things I have done have been either free or in expensive. Always where there is a will and desire, there is a way. As a life coach I teach my clients how to make a way:) Thank you for your questions.
