Amazing drummer for the mere fact that he has only one arm. What a legend
pure legend, then , now and forever!
@louis mays - not unless you can play drums like Rick Allen with it.
@louis mays i think the only one you have is pounding you from behind right now
Well for their first 3 albums-Rick still had 2 arms!
i dont even see disabilities, im that progressive
Oh God, how I loved this song and the entire album! This is one of my all-time favorites. I'm a Black man, and I'm constantly told that I'm White because I like this music. I just tell them when you start buying my music, then you can tell me what to listen to. I also tell them instead of worrying about what other people do, just worry about what you do.
Rock ‘n’ roll wouldn’t exist without Black musicians anyway. Who do they think Elvis learned from?
Rock is for everyone my man. May I also reccomend ACDC?
i will admit , Def Lep could be one of the Whitest bands on Earth, and so it makes sense that you would be accused of being white. ( by association )
the old albums from Def , have more rock and roll in them.
I was inspired by a one armed drummer to follow this band. Nothing wrong with it.
This is their most underrated song. But one of their best.
They shortened it from the album. The longer version's very good too, if you have the patience for long drum solos.
This is crazily underrated
#Garbage
@@urthboundmisfit I know! I couldn't believe it when I first heard the drum solo. That was a fantastic come back for Rick.
The drums alone make this worth listening to.
And he has only one arm.
One armed man still better the mettalica drummer lol
Funny becouse he even admitted to not knowing how to play
@@zems1995 when this album came out lars was miles ahead though
True
RIP and long live Steve Clark (April 23, 1960 - January 8, 1991), aged 30
You will always be remembered as a legend.

My wife made me LOL yesterday I was singing ROCKET YEAH and she was like what the heck are you singing I told her only the greatest music to ever be created 😂
What I absolutely LOVE about Def Leppard is.. Even after Richard Allen's accident (that robbed him of his arm) - they didn't abandon him ! They modified the drum kit to take into account his loss.
Yeah same it's good they didn't kick him out of the band. He's a great, unique drummer.
@@Adriana_Luvs_Clarinets He was family. It was unthinkable to kick him off.
@@kichigan1 anyway, why would they? He did nothing to deserve the amputation!!
Greatest tribute song ever. All the band's that influenced them growing up.
With whom?
if your talking name dropping this song stands proudly alongside the wildhearts '29 times the pain' :)
It really is a great tribute.

Def Leppard is an amazing band. The 80's were such a great time ! I can listen to Def Leppard all day long !
Case in point: Def Leppard is my second favorite band of the 80's! And I'm a BLACK man, raised up on Motown, and a deep fan of classic/vintage R&B and Soul!😮 Again, second only to New Edition, Def Leppard was my FAVORITE 80's group! I still even listen to some Hysteria (especially "Women"!) every few months or so. Their sound just has that rock edge, but is so melodic at the same time!
Me too ❤
This was the first tape I purchased growing up...saved up mowing lawns. Rock on 🤘
good choice!
When kids actually earned their money instead of being entitled like today.
Shoulda been born later then, dickhead
@@aaronborowiak5551 - it's "YOU'RE a dickhead". And yes, he probably is.
SAME! This was back when they came in those big, over-sized, long plastic things. I bought mine at The Gallery of Sound in Pa. I was so proud :)
Nothing quite beats an entire arena of people shouting "ROCKET! YEAH!" back at this band. Still get goosebumps when I think about it. Quality track, this.
ABSOLUTELY n' POSITIVELY "ZERO" TASTE in "QUALITY" MUSIC...for someone (anyone) to get excited enough to post a "positive" comment on One of the Worst Mainstream Rock Tracks Ever Created...I digress, corny folks deserve the right to like dog sh*t
Hysteria album (1987) masterpiece
Yes.
Are you disabled?
Joel's mullet is awesome, very beautiful. 😍
This album is still amazing 36 years later 😊
So i went to the Def Leppard/Journey concert in my home town this year and when DL opened up with the chanting at the start of the song... i knew it was gonna be a good night
I did too,it was an INCREDIBLE night! I bursted into tears when that chanting came on. I've always loved older music and I have a connection with it. Seeing Def Leppard was the best memory I've had out of my 16 years of life and I could never ask for a better band to have been my first concert. Love Def Leppard more than anything
How did they sound?
Spookbumps you saw Def Leppard with Journey?! Wow! Two 80's bands in one night, that's just amazing!
Oh my God, you are lucky! I would have died! Both singers were gorgeous too!
This Album never gets" old " for me...fav def Leppard album of All Time 🎤🎸🎶
*Goosebumps* when I listen to this 🔥
Me too!!
Same here 😙❤
Full blown the emotion machine
Def Leppard forever💖
Def Leppard UK talent from Sheffield UK.
Steve Clark, the heart and soul of this band?!!!!
he is good but sadly battled the bottle. Phil Collen (whom I originally didn't like) ended playing the lead (steves role) in many albums, my respect for him and I mean RESPECT went up immeasurably. All in all, Joe, Steve, Phil and Rick were the heart and soul. sidenote; Rick, joined when he was about 15, ended up losing his arm in a car accident, rehabilitated, and still ended up making iconic music. All of them, awesome and forever eternal Def Leppard.
@@traelmate37 I appreciate your comment, rock on 🤘
Remember the rocket trip this song takes you on. No drugs required. 1988 and still listening to this in 2022 and beyond.

Me too. No one is ever too old to rock.
I remember when this video was a World Premiere on MTV. This was the video off the Hysteria album everyone was waiting for. MTV aired it at 12pm and every two thereafter on a Saturday. Def Leppard of course did not disappoint. (For those who might be young, back then MTV stood for Music Television, and they played music videos all day.)
I loved MTV back than none this reality stuff... Also VH1 played good videos. Remember pop up video? Lol loved it. Always tidbits on what was going on in videos
@@Krayburn02 you're suggesting that similar content is not currently available CZcams of course had the pop-up captions for a number of years right but then they got rid of it because of the mobile screens making it more difficult to implement for idiots at least and the repeats from VH1 I'm sure are easily accessed I think that where we go to gets good music and good music videos is changing from year to year and we used to have the local community cable channel television programs that got on Saturday Night Live spoofed fairly regularly but those things are going away and so the kind of content is also going away that is most precious that had hope behind it and now it should some new voice be created the question is can it reach the eyeballs without passing some sort of muster and the answer is clearly not. If antenna TV goes away there will be no curation whatsoever despite the worst censorship that history has ever known. So yeah there was a golden era before our time and during our times but will such be the experience of the generations now figuring out what matters most now finding their to use that old word d r u t h e r s they're fucking whether they have a dick or not who is it that's rocking the Cradle. It's empire. It's people that you still think the rock and roll was cool but that the important thing was continuing to Lord it over the minorities. They were faking, and now they have the button.
If you believe in the Second Amendment then you want a Ron to have a hydrogen bomb. To have a world that is safe for people who are so different from us to have the ability to destroy everything should they be abused. That involves risk oh, but it is the ambition that this weekend is the eve of celebrating. It is a world in which sucks and music and love can thrive. It is the world that we begin by dreaming about and might not continue to even dream about in the future oh, when we have come so close to its realization.
@@marsBeBelinda - ?
I also remember that world premiere. I was at least fourteen, no older than fifteen. I was so excited. LOVED the video.
I remember that world premiere! I was not going to miss it for the world.

HYSTERIA was DL's BIGGEST lp in the 80's! It still rocks in 2019!! ROCKET, DL! ROCKET!!
As a teen, I had no idea of all the references, it just was a rockin' tune, now I get them all, and I love it even more.
My favorite. I listen it from 1988 till today!

Underrated def leppard song🎶🤘🔊💋
Def Leppard are rock legends. Even some of their later albums were epic with an amazing progression in sound and experimentation.. Hysteria was historic. Rocket is an an unstoppable force. Pretty much perfection in the genre. We would road cruise, listen to this and others, find a bridge out in the country, start a fire by the river, and a ton of high school kids would have our own personal concert. AC/DC was there and many more.... we were rocket gods.
I have always loved this song. It’s AMAZING!!
Their #12 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 from early 1989
We have been fans of def leppard since the early 80s. Rip Steve Clark. Great song and video. Thanks for the great music guys.
This is the best band ever. I remember back in middle school and high school listening to them.
Same here!
The drummer is really good !😊
This is the best band if you live under a rock
I have to put Journey ahead of them but def my second!
Why is this the catchiest song in the world?
I'll never forget seeing them live 2005 front row at a baseball stadium, when they played this every single person in the sold out crowd were yelling "ROCK IT, YEAH!" during the chorus. It was so epic
I was born in the Eighties but was only a baby at that time so i was a 90's kid. Seriously jealous of everyone who got to live through the Eighties. Must have been kickass!
It was a wonderful time for sure, compared to the clusterfuck we live in now. Sorry you missed it.
The 60s and 70s were mind blowing, too!
Ok This is the best song EVER and the fact that the drummer can do that with ONE arm is just amazing and I hope that you guys can make more songs and albums and joe you have the best voice i have ever heard 😆😆😆😆😆😆

Damn Yankees?
Alice In Chains? Simon and Garfunkel?
....Uriah Heep in the 70's e.g. "Sunrise" the opening track of the Magician's Birthday album and indeed opening track of the 1973 Uriah Heep Live album.... known for their vocal harmonies and by some labelled as "the Beach Boys of heavy rock" a bit of an exaggeration but could well have also influenced the guys in Leppard along with the incredible Sweet (stuff like "Hell Raiser", "Teenage Rampage" etc is well etched in my brain), T Rex, etc, and of course not forgetting Mr Bowie, all incredible stuff.

Legends, what a chorus
Yes, Michael Parkes, I'm here listening with you at the end of May, 2019 to one of the best bands to ever come out of Britain! And that is saying a lot! I don't know how old you are, but thanks to my older sister, I feel like a '60's child who enjoyed the "British Invasion" and spent my formidable years in the '70's enjoying the second "British Invasion" with all the Glam bands and great rock still coming from the British isles. Last night, I rang up Zappo's/Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas where Def Leppard will begin a residency in August and bought a ticket to celebrate my (dare I say?) 62nd birthday! It's a small venue which is ideal for me as I loathe crowds. There is also a possibility for a "meet and greet". I'm trying to patiently await an e-mail regarding that. I've never been to Las Vegas and have never wanted to go. My husband has tried for years to lure me there, but I've just never been interested. I think growing up in New Orleans may have had something to do with that. Anyway, only Def Leppard could get me to go somewhere I've never thought I would go. My husband of 25 years got home last night and I told him that I bought a ticket and would be going. He can only name one of their songs and I imagine you can guess what IT is. We lead relatively separate lives at this point. He did ask if he could join me on the trip. Rather a surprise, but okay. Anyway, I was able to get a stellar seat (not that I'll be in it much) very close to the stage. I've never seen them live before as I don't do well in arenas. All I know is when they play "Rocket", I'll be "on the satellite of love" and probably be thinking of little else. Except, of course, do I have a clear view of one Mr. Rick Allen? Then, all should be right in my world. All of my illnesses and pain will disappear - at least for the night. I realize we don't know one another from beans and I have told you much more than you wanted or needed to know, but we are both Def Leppard admirers (not keen on the word "fan") and I am thrilled to be able to share with someone that I'm going to finally see them live. Peace!
Best hard Rock band ever!!!!!

Ever, not just "80s".
True love always ❤#DefLeppard.❤
One of my favs from them. Great tribute song and unabashed Beatle influences in the chorus
Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitars, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitars, backing vocals). They established themselves as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement of the early 1980s. The band's greatest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their first album, 1980's On Through the Night, reached the Top 15 in the UK but received little notice elsewhere. Their second album, 1981's High 'n' Dry, was produced by Mutt Lange, who helped them begin to define their melodic, hard rock style, and the album's most popular track "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first rock videos played on MTV in 1982, but the album only reached the Top 30 and 40 in the UK and US. Def Leppard's next studio album, Pyromania, was released in January 1983, with "Photograph" and "Rock of Ages" both topping the US Rock Tracks chart and reaching the Top 20 of the Hot 100. Reaching No. 2 on the US album chart, Pyromania was certified Diamond in the US and 7x platinum in Canada and reached the Top 20 in the UK but did not sell much elsewhere. Def Leppard's fourth album, the more pop-oriented Hysteria (1987), topped the UK, US, New Zealand, Canadian, Australian and Norway charts. It also went to No. 2 in Sweden and No. 10 in Germany without any Top 50 singles in those countries. It has been certified 12× platinum for sales in the US and 13x platinum in Canada, selling over 25 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time. The album spawned six Top 20 US singles, including the US Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 "Love Bites" (went Top 10 in several other countries including No. 2 in NZ), alongside "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (US No. 2), "Hysteria", "Armageddon It" (No. 2 in NZ), "Animal" (at No. 6, the biggest UK hit), and "Rocket" (a Top 15 hit in many countries). Hysteria had four Top 10 hits in New Zealand. Their next studio album, Adrenalize (their first following the death of guitarist Steve Clark), reached No. 1 on the UK, US, NZ, Canadian and Australian charts in 1992, while going Top 10 in Sweden and Germany. It contained several hits, including the US Rock Tracks chart-topper, "Let's Get Rocked", which became their biggest hit in several countries, including No. 2 in the UK, No. 3 in Canada and Switzerland, and the Top 20 in Sweden and Germany. The third single, "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad", was a Top 15 song in the US, UK and Canada. Their 1993 album, Retro Active, contained the acoustic Top 5 North American hit "Two Steps Behind". Their greatest hits album Vault, released in 1995, featured the UK No. 2 hit "When Love & Hate Collide" and reached the Top 10 in several countries, going 5x platinum in the US. Beginning with Slang, Def Leppard released five albums between 1996 and 2008, with most usually reaching the Top 15 in several countries, including the UK, US and Canada. Their most recent album, self-titled, was released in 2015 and once again reached the Top 15 in several countries. As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Def Leppard have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and have two albums with RIAA diamond certification: Pyromania and Hysteria, making them one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling more than 10 million copies in the US. The band were ranked No. 31 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" and ranked No. 70 in "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". Def Leppard were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. 🖤🖤🖤 Well, and I have the great honor of having in my discography five albums by this wonderful hard and heavy group. Four copies of the masterpiece Hysteria (1987), two remastered versions, a deluxe edition copy containing three CDs, and a deluxe remastered edition copy of the album Adrenalize (1992). 🖤🖤🖤 Hysteria is the fourth studio album by English rock band Def Leppard, released on 3 August 1987 through Mercury Records. It is Def Leppard's best-selling album to date, selling over 20 million copies worldwide, including 12 million in the US, and spawning seven hit singles. The album charted at number one on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. 🖤🖤🖤💯‼️
