      They sound like an old bickering married couple, each trying to prove to the other why they're right and the other is wrong, over things that didn't really matter. Pretty awful. They must be fun at parties together.

    I watch so many of these where the commentators discount Earl. He's a giant of the game. You can hate his personality, but don't underestimate him.

      That wasn't on purpose. When your cue ball is that close to the object ball.. you have to masse it backwards to avoid a double hit foul.

      @@garbygarb31 nope, to avoid a foul in that situation normally you'd hit the ball at an angle. Literally nobody would've masse backward in this situation without an intention. Plus you can see Jayson eyeing the hanging 8 prior to the shot

    Can't think of any two players I would rather see shoot. Both amazing players, the ability to run rack after rack, make insane hard shots look easy, and do it all with blazing speed.

    Very first shot Earl kicked in the 1 ball and the commentators didn't even mention it . I just hit the mute button and enjoyed the rest of the match.

    When Jason is on his game and getting the rolls to he is like watching an expert craftsman at his trade. Such fun watching him in total control. Thanks Jason for all the fabulous games and matches I have enjoyed watching you in these last few years :). I could definitely see "greatest of all time" in your future! :). Really enjoyed having the opportunity at last years US Open to watch you play up close and personal. It gave me a much better feel for your personality ..... :). Keep it up Pal .......

    The two commentators keep making wrong predictions on both Earl and Jason's shots so why don't they stop doing it and do what a commentator should do and that is COMMENT on the shots Jason or Earl already decide to make AFTER they make (or miss) their shot.

    For all those that have something bad to say about Jason he is actually a very nice guy and rather humble... he may come off as arrogant but I promise u this guy can back it up... I watched him prior to a turny at my pool hall run a 5 pack in under 15 mins and never take more than 1 practice stroke. Love how internet trolls/thugs judge someone without knowing them lol... he seems arrogant because he should be but I promise u he is not he just knows he can run out blind folded lol...

    Towards the beginning of the game Earl Strickland was on fire in making the balls in. While Jason Shaw was shooting too fast and hurrying to much on shots. And raising his body up. Towards the Ending point... Earl Strickland got to confident and was slacked on his shooting and started missing his balls in. If Earl Strickland would of stayed on his platform like he did in the beginning. Earl would of slaughtered ... Jason Shaw in this tournament. I've seen .. Jason Shaw play pool in the past. He is a good pool player when he slows down and puts a lot of accuracy towards the balls.

    Watched a game on another famous brand of cloth. The commentator pointed out that at the tail end of a ball's roll, it would turn. Calling the effect "wavy". All he said was, "well, it's not Simonis." Both players had the same handicap in that sense.

    Jayson definitely has some amazing skills with regards to his stroke, but he is very unnecessary in his shots. He definitely loves to hit them hard and use a lot of english when unnecessary, and no matter how good you are, that will get you into trouble. You can tell who the real veteran is here, Earl makes everything look so natural and nothing fancy.

    Earl always looks like a cyborg with all that gear on...the wrist area stiff wrapped has to help him keep a straight stroke as an advantage...why is that permitted! His attitude sucks and his hardware leaves me to think he would not play as well without it!

    commentating should be like doing inquisitive work.
    make your predictions before the shot, state all the options. so tired of these bogus commentators that think it's okay to say "i didn't like that shot" AFTER the shooter messes up. what's the point in that?
    ever play in a team? you'll find that's the most unproductive thing to do, to say you dislike xyz. these commentators need to get off the mic and lose some more games. commentating for an audience should not be treated like a casual affair.
