    Exceptional video. In the past I had a much more difficult time removing the carburetor, but after watching your video it was easy. Your experience really shows. Thanks.

      Thank you very much, I've had people poi t out previously that my videos don't do the small engine shops justice cause they show how long it actually takes to do these repairs

  • @FlockingmMollifordsonite

    Awesome video. Somewhere over the years I’ve owned this or maybe straight out the gate because my dealer is great I got the updated carb and EPA stuff was edited. Seeing the difference was helpful. Just going through some of the equipment and haven’t used my 357xp in years. Started right up and ran a full day no problem. Thank you for making quality content.

    Very detailed video. I'm working on my dad's 359. Carburetor problems. Never worked on this particular model before and your video was very helpful. I've tuned and tuned the carb and it just won't do right. Can't get it to idle right and at time bogs on the top end no matter how I tune it. And yes, the arrestor screen is good. Anyway, I'm gonna take the carb apart and clean it. If that doesn't work then I'll just replace the carb. I'm sure the carb kit costs more than what I can get a new carb for. Good video though.

    Thanks for sharing and demonstrating how to replace the carb. Also showing the difference between the old and new versions of the carb. I just picked up a 359 off Craigslist for $80 the guy just put a new side cover spark plug and updated carb on it but it will not start. It’s got plenty of compression and looks to have been used very little. Any way your video will surly help me on my adventure! Man you work quick on them things! You could probably do one in the dark or very limited light if you had too!

    Way to fix that old type carb is to drill a vent hole (or two) in the top lid that is held by 4 screws. Carb rebuild kit and it works as good as new.

    • @Coakleyfixedit207
      @Coakleyfixedit207  Před 5 měsíci

      Uhhh that would literally do nothing as it has nothing to do with the issue but thanks for watching and the comment

      @@Coakleyfixedit207 Ok, then I was wrong about around 5-6 these types of carbs that I fixed that way... That black plastic part has vents that mess up and if you put vent holes in the lid above diaphragm it literally does something ;)
      But hey, don't have to believe me, if you get a chance try it once..

    • @Coakleyfixedit207
      @Coakleyfixedit207  Před 5 měsíci

      @vjeko8690 it's a check valve inside the carb body that goes bad, the vents in the lif and black spacer are so the diaphragm can move freely, I'd more likely say the carbs you fixed just needed kits. But hey not throwing shade your way maybe I didn't explain the issue these carbs have deep enough

      @audis6m ohhh gotcha musta been a typo on your original comment, I've done hundreds of these and never had to replace the flange on a 357/359. On the smaller 300 series (350, 345, 346xp etc) i have run Into needing a different style because of the adjustment screws. It's important to keep in mind these companies sell different variations of the same model to different regions. California is a good example of this
