- Flying Battery Zone Act 2, but I changed the bass sound on every loop and for the second half of the video I isolated the bass and drums to hear it more clearly. Enjoy!

If you have any requests for Megadrive, SNES or Gameboy VGM you'd like edited in this way or other ways, let me know!
For the curious, the bass instruments are from... (in order of appearance)
Sonic 3 - Flying Battery - Act 1
Sonic 2 - Invincibility
Sonic 3 - Hydrocity Zone - Act 1
Sonic 3 - Bonus Stage 1 (Pinball Machine)
Sonic 3 - Marble Garden - Act 1
How you did this???
@@YgorG It's probably they way this is programmed. The music in those games used to be built with samples instead of a full recording like today. They used samples, pitched them and created music. That's probably the trick behind it, modifying those samples to get a very interesting concept and another version of the song :D
If I said something wrong, tell me! Tbh, I was just assuming things here, but it sounds logic to me haha
@@KarlioDotExe Just 2 things, they used FM synth for the Genesis, but my guess is that he altered the instrument via some Hex editor or something.
@@KarlioDotExe FM instruments are actually called "patches". Samples are pre-recorded sound bytes that are played back at different pitches whereas in FM synthesis, the soundchip assembles the waveforms with the musician's instructions.
As for your question. This was probably done by muting the bass channel and resequencing it in Deflemask. As of right now, it isn't possible to edit the contents of .vgz or .vgm files.
timestamps?
Hey, carpathia808! I understand you get a lot of requests for things like this, but I simply just want to say thank you for making deconstructions a profession of yours. It's given me as a person more prospect through what music can accomplish and how we see it on the surface. I'm sure many other people appreciate this small niche; I'm thankful it's taken us this far to still embrace musical art, and just instrumentation in general! Amazing work as always, don't go changing for nobody!!
I second that, thank you very much for taking your time and sharing your content with us!
i third this
now do SNES Rainbow Road
@@m.mproductions2461 As a deconstruction or an instrument change? Because there already is a deconstruction here.

I love how he plays a small portion of the song slowed down and muffled at the end.
Hello!
We need full versions. They sound so ethereal, like vaporwave.
oh the one with the marble garden bass is NASTY i LOVE it
Act 2 is DA BEST
I swear, the Marble Garden bass line works with everything.
It almost feels too “aggressive” to me, but I suppose that fits with a Flying Fortress lol
1:21 flying battery is sounding a lot more like swimming battery right now.
well done 👍
swimming battery after act 2: explodes bcz the battery was is the water for too long
Hydrobattery Zone
It’s more of a Flying Submarine Zone.
the hydrocity part sounds like the flying battery crash landed in the ocean
That would make a good level in a fan game 🤔

2:01: Pinball Machine
2:41 M.B.Z (HITS DIFFERENT)
Love it better than the original version 😎
Like this change
1:22 it sounds like an intermission. The bass on this one really makes channel 0 and 4 pop out
Some timestamps:
0:00 Flying b. Act 1
0:41 Sonic 2 invenciblity
1:21 Hidrocity act 1 bass
2:01 Pinball machine bonus stage
2:41 Marble garden Act 1.

@@mikethe2238 Yeah
Amazing job, Carp! This is better than the original Act 2, honestly.
I frigging LOVE this bassline!!!
Tbh, I thought you were just running out of ideas with this, but this is actually pretty good! Really glad I didn't skip these videos entirely.
0:26 this part made me cry
Nostalgia
Thank you. This is literally one of the few types of music I listen to, that being whatever music content you share.
Flying Battery is my favorite Sonic zone, hands down. Thanks for these remixes, they sound awesome!
Wow, your dedication is insane, still going after all this time! The algorithm blessed this vid, it's a really good and curious idea, good job!
I think the second one fits really well in this song. 0:41
truly amazing
I would LOVE a full version of that slowed and muffled FBZ at the end!
I was looking forward to this one!
That sonic 2 bass gave me chills, holy i dont know why
Hey carpathia808!
First, just wanted to say you've been doing an amazing job as always! And second, thinking about this new series, what would you think of also experimenting with changing the drums? :D
I, for one, would love to hear Sonic 1 and 2's snare on Sonic 3 (& Knuckles)'s music! Perhaps even with their version of the bass as well!
You should make full versions of the slowed down version you usually put at the end, those are sweet! You could even throw a bunch of them together as like a mix
I like all the basses in this. The hydrocity bass (I call it the 3D Blast bass) is too quiet for this song, but it is still good.
Yes yes yes yes yes
amazing work! this ost is masterpiece, always in my heart, keep it up! =)
Out of my favorites in this one, it would be Marble Garden Act 1 and Flying Battery Act 1 bass.
Cause they slap.
invincibility part makes it sound like your underwater and hydrocity
I think I like this than the original actually
Cool!
1:21
Flying Battery Zone, if you were to be swimming in battery acid.
Wait…
Self reminder: Favorite bass is at 2:41
Carp! Excellent choices, rather interesting combos.
Do you think you could do a deconstruction of Fear Factory, from Donkey Kong Country (SNES)? My favorite song from the game would be nice to see on the oscillo!
This very cool!!!
The flying battery act 1 bass sound almost identical to
Amazing! =,)
Makes me feel nostalgic, as I used to take MIDIs from VGmusic and open them into this free music composing program I had and change the instruments to make it sound different.
That was probably around 15 years ago.
I subscribed you =)
The 2 I like are from Sonic 2 Invincibility because it slaps with a twang, And the Sonic 3 Bonus stage 1 Pinball Machine Cause it slap with a womp :P
Lol bro this is lit. Can you do flying battery zone act 1 the same way. And the Lava Reef Zone?
Care to share what tools you use for editing the music? I’d like to modify some genesis songs in midi/sequencer fashion.
how many subscribeers do we need to hit
Can you do Golden Axe 3 deconstructed i wish i can hear lot more xD
Not sure if you deconstructed it yet or not, but Sonic Spinball's Boss Theme.
Can you do Karaoke Edition of 2-Player Results from Sonic 2?
How
@Hoonjin PARK 으악
i don't hear any change it sounds the same xd
The bass
There is a more bubbly-ish sounding bass that is from that one bonus stage
Amazing bro! Thanks
