    Hi, but if you assign channels to a subgroup, that subgroup to the main mix, and also the same input channels straight to the stereo mix bus at the same time that will cause phasing issues due to the extra delay of the processing bus, or is it already delay compensated?... what's the latency for each extra bus assignment?, On DiGiCo is 14 samples of delay

    This is very clear and helpful. Working with a SL32 and with an SLR32 as a stagebox, I've been struggling trying to understand that mixes are being sent to the stagebox as Aux sends (Mix 1 = Aux Send 1.... Mix n = Aux Send n). This seems basic, but yours is the first video I've found that confirms this.

      Agreed! Broadcast mix using matrix. Is it possible to have different/separate effects chains on individual inputs for in-house and broadcast? For example: is it possible to have more or less reverb on individual inputs rather than on just the whole matrix mix?

    • @rustyfritz7743
      @rustyfritz7743 Před 5 měsíci

      You click the edit button underneath the monitor and headphone knobs and then the screen will pop up to select the routing and which mode you want to monitor in. You can monitor the main mix, any on the flex mixes or solo mode where it just monitor what solo is on. I monitor through flex mix 11-12. My other flex mixes are used as headphone mixes to the players and then I basically just don’t use the main mix. Make sure to stereo link the flex mix Also make sure you stereo width on the fat channel gets turned up to 100% for some reason. Its sets to zero (my headphones were in mono for a long time before I realized the stereo width)

    Just got a StudioLive Series III for my church, so very happy you’re doing this series.
    Also been watching some of your guides for mixing instruments. Do you have a guide for mixing an electronic drum set, where you can’t necessarily mix the individual drums on separate channels? Any recommendations on which drum to split from the rest (eg, kick on left channel, rest of the kit on right), or to keep all combined?

    • @AttawayAudio
      @AttawayAudio  Před rokem

      I haven't seen a way to add a footswitch to mute the FX, but you could assign them to a mute group that's on the User Function keys if you'd like. I personally prefer having them assigned to a DCA so I can fade them rather than mute them.

    • @alexChook
      @alexChook Před 2 lety

      You will have to use the final band as the low pass or another eq plugin. There is no dedicated one in the stock eq.

    • @bluegrassjammer37kay
      @bluegrassjammer37kay Před 2 lety

      I’ve never tried using the mixer for this purpose, but, there possibly a work around by using the Low Pass Filter settings within the stock FX Settings. (I have the Presonus Series 3 SL 32 channel mixer.)
      FX A: Vintage Plate Reverb
      FX B: 335 Digital Reverb
      FX C: Stereo Delay
      FX D: Mono Delay
      You could possibly route desired channel through one of the effects dry except for the Low Pass Filter setting to achieve the sound you are wanting.
      (I’m still learning how to use mixer, so, I may be way off base on this suggestion.)

    Hi! Do you by any chance know if you can process (EQ, compress) every channel individually per monitor mix? I'm considering buying the 32ch rackversion for an IEM setup, but up until now I haven't found out of if this is possible or not :) Hope to hear from you. Thanks a million!

    • @AttawayAudio
      @AttawayAudio  Před 4 měsíci

      Channel EQ is per input channel, but you CAN double-patch an input and get a separate amount of processing. For instance, if you have a singer dealing with the inner-hum and want to thin out their mic for their IEMs, but everyone else wants some fullness when they're following the lead vocal, you can patch the input twice and process one for the singer, and the other for the rest of the band independently.

    How do you listen to the Aux outputs? or mix outputs? cause every time I've tried it's gone horribly wrong (as in, no audio or it starts muting channels). This desk is by far the worst desk I've ever used in my life. The patching is beyond stupid, and the "Fat channel" is probably the worst feature I've ever seen on a sound desk.
    I'd far rather mix on my XR18 than EVER touch another PreSonus desk. How are they still in business? who is buying these mixers?

    • @AttawayAudio
      @AttawayAudio  Před 2 měsíci

      If you go to Mix/FX Master, you can solo the outputs there. Sorry you're having a tough time with it! It's got its pros and cons

    • @KLRCAT
      @KLRCAT Před 2 měsíci

      @@AttawayAudio I tried that, but when I solo'd the master channels it wasn't anything like what I was sending.
      For context, I taped the "Mix/FX Master" on the right side fader bank, I then solo'd "Aux 1" which is what I was sending on "Mix 1" but when I solo'd it all I was hearing was the kick drum (input 1) and that wasn't even turned up on Mix 1. I then kept hitting the "Next" button to see if I could find the "Mix 1" master instead of the "Aux 1" master, but I couldn't find it.

    Well done video James and timely info for me.
    Question Please:
    I would like to set up Aux sends (probably 4 of them) for mix down (like aux sends on an analog mixer) so that I could route specific tracks to external processors (if needed during a mix down). Where would the outputs be located on the back of the mixer (to route to the outboard gear) and where would I plug in the stereo returns on the mixer?
    I have the same 32S mixer...Thanks James.
