    I’m sure there are lots of people besides myself who have spent their lives working with every series from the letter tractors to the 88 series.
    My favorite series were the 66’s.

    Pete, that tractor looks great, and Carmen should be proud. What a tough old bugger at 90 years old! That 1566 looks really sharp and I look forward to seeing the sale video.

      Having been in one, and operated machines made between the 60s and early 90s, I have to question somewhat your claims. A well done 21st Century tractor is mechanically and ergonomically much superior. Put it this way, you likely won't want to run that 1566 for 8 hours after running a new Magnum for 18 (not that you should routinely be running anything that long repetitively.)

    So cool, beautiful machines with such low hours. Totally get the concept of I liked the first 806 so well I bought another one. Dad had a '65 model 806, miss that tractor somewhat terrible. I would definitely get another one!

  • @TonyM132
    @TonyM132 Před 3 lety +1

    Such a shame the 1566 had that bastard Hiniker cab on it. It'd be so much more of a gem if it had a factory IH cab. And it's got no PTO at all! Machinery Pete should have asked the owner about that cab and the PTO.

  • @92xl
    @92xl Před 9 lety +12

    Oh that is one nice 66 series tractor but those cabs were torture chambers. We had a 1066 and a 1466 as I was growing up and I can attribute a better part of my hearing loss to those beasts.

    • @anthonykaiser974
      @anthonykaiser974 Před 5 lety

      That's one area where I have to give the boys in Moline credit. Their cab was more livable, despite its flaws (center post and entry point.)

      Beautiful tractors for sure! I have a 66 706 with a cab like what's on the middle 806. I can't find any info on this style of cab with the bifold doors. Anyone know who made them? I believe they were only made in 1966. TIA, Ron

    Farmers must be pretty rich that they can buy 3 tractors and a combine that they didn't need. Must be a half a million bucks in today's money..

    • @keithmartin7831
      @keithmartin7831 Před 5 lety +3

      I'd probably look at your house and driveway of vechiles and say the same thing. He worked hard all his life. Now he's calling it quits at 90. I'm always amazed how people depict the farmer as rich. Some are wealthy most get by. Now the farms that have been in the family 3 generations they should be doing better than the average farmer. But it's not their fault they kept their priorities straight. I applaud them.

    • @BarnyardEngineering
      @BarnyardEngineering Před 10 lety +3

      mrbakerskatz Probably just a tillage tractor. Those only came with 1000 RPM PTOs anyway. What I find odd is the green combine among the red tractors.
