Conservative betting scandal: another top Tory investigated

  • It was bad enough that an MP close to the Prime Minister admitted betting on the election date.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
    There was also the director of campaigns who has taken leave of absence amid claims he gambled on the election timing, while his wife, a candidate in Bristol, is being investigated too.
    Now it's reported that Tory party data chief Nick Mason has taken time off amid allegations that he also placed bets.

      @darthwiizius Před 4 dny +9

      In 2010 Sunak was on the brink of being extradited for his part as a member of a gang of four that used insider knowledge to collapse a Dutch bank for profit. The first 2 trials were taking place in the UK as two members of the gang were UK based. Cameron stepped in and collapsed the trial by interfering with the SFO's prosecution publicly to the point the judge had to shut it down due to no longer being able to guarantee a fair trial. So why is this piece of corruption important? Because it was the Dutch bank that started the UK banking crisis, not the US crash as reported. Sunak's crime cost the country over 550 billion Pounds overnight and more since. So why did Cameron do this? Sunak's father in law is an Indian at the heart of Herr Putler's inner circle, Pociophile Dave also removed all Labour's anti-Russian money laundering legislation in 2010 too.

      That is a foolish and idiotic idea that in some instances would be dangerous. Allow me to give two examples. The police sometimes have lied about a dangerous criminal on the loose, because to openly tell people about a that criminal's plans for a terrorist attack would throw the entire community in panic. In 1962 President Kennedy lied to the American public for six days about the missiles in Cuba until they had response ready. To have immediately told the truth about the situation would not only have caused panic, but could have prompted an actual war breaking out between the nuclear super-powers. The general public are far, far too often simply too stupid and mindless fools to be given the facts without preparation - look at the idiots trying to stop infections by refusing to wear a mask.

      There can't be any by-elections in a GE because parliament is already dissolved and there is technically no sitting MP anymore, all of them are candidates to be elected, plus by-elections while GE is coming is a bit redundant so it would be better just to elect an MP through GE.
      If you ask who runs the country if there's no MP, the Prime minister and his cabinet is still active even though they're not MPs anymore.

    What I don’t get with all these betting scandals is how do they know who has put the bet on? I’m presuming these Tories don’t have actual online accounts with bookies. Moreover, surely if you’ve half a brain and are trying to scam the system you’d get a proxy to place any dodgy bets for you.
