I can't imagine being a garbage truck operator. It is literally the last job I would ever want. Unless I get to sort through the items and keep what I want. I believe it would be the saddest and cruelest job.

Here is how it goes, those men placed the toys in the garbage truck then the compactor did its job and squashed them into a little cube and nothing you people put on this comment board is going to unsmash those toys. Besides, even if some of the toys made it into the thrift store if they were donated, most of them would have the same fate behind the thrift store!

goodwill does not fix broken toys they toss them along with a good number of working toys. A slight nick or scraatch into the dumpster it goes for dolls a smudge or if they are missing any clothes into the dumpster and if they don't sell within a certant time you guessed it into the dumpster. Goodwill trashes more toys than you might think
The toys were sitting next to the cans for 24 hours before pickup anyone who wanted them could have taken them no one did because they were used up rubbish that belonged in the trash
If I was around there I would've taken all the garbage and made sure those garbage cans were nice and empty when I was done. Great job getting rid of the garbage!
I purged my whole collection of nylon sportswear. It's time to move on to let things go. I ended up with 130 bags full of pants, shorts, windbreaker jackets and coats. Tomorrow I start bringing all the bags to the end of the driveway for Mondays trash pickup just like the video here.
I agree such a waste and i think it's quite sad when I'm out and about and see kids toys just left out with the rubbish but I'm amazed at how many toys Ashley must have had judging by the amount that is going in the back of the truck. A doll stroller and a Raggedy Anne with a pull-up and t-shirt that says I'm a big girl now on it that we gave to Ashley when she was potty training is unceremoniously tossed on top of the giant dog followed by a collapsed box and a clear bag containing plastic McDonalds toys.

Ya they can pop as loud as balloon too! There's one garbage truck that the compactor comes down so fast that it causes the air inside the bag to be trapped, thus causing the bags to pop instantly!

I worked for Waste Management for almost 5 yrs....as far as I know...people are not aloud to help load the trucks...and what the hell is that guy thinking hold shit in with the blade coming down!! Guess he doesn't really need both hands. Also...must be nice to have a hopper that does both stages without a safety button to hold.
