The cells will automatically clear when you pull the formula down through all the rows.
How about in google sheet? i tried doing this it was a success but when i exported it in google sheet, the formulas got lost.

Hello, how can I lock the formula in products , price columns etc? I mean, if I want to erase something, I have to erase only the code but if someone erases the cell in produc.t, the whole formula disappears.

I'm sort of new to Excel and I don't understand how is this easier than searching the item with ctrl-F, copy-pasting the items and then just have it do the sum?
The idea was limiting the USERS WORKING AREA. Except for CODES COLUMN, CUSTOMER INFO AND DATE you can protect/lock the entire sheet and ITEMS SHEET to prevent unwanted edits.

Why ITEM!ITEM in vlookup table array part? Why not only ITEM?
The ITEM! with exclamation mark refers to the sheet. Let say you name the ITEM sheet as PRODUCT your formula will looks like this PRODUCT!ITEM

Select the cell or range then Right-click and choose Format Cells. Click the Number tab.Choose Custom from the Category list then in the Type field enter 0's per 0 correspond to every digit. So if you want to use seven digits ex. 0005567 you will type 0000000 then click ok.
