One of the greatest comedies ever- Irelands biggest lingere store, hairy babies, very small far away, kicking bishop Brennan up the arse , tentacles of doom , The passion of St. Tibulous alldelightsto look forward to in future episodes in this brilliant & surreal series!
The domestic abuse couple is a pis take on the fact that divorce was illegal at the time in Ireland.
My dad was brought up Catholic and could really relate to Dougal pranking Ted with the statue. As a kid, he was terrified that the Virgin Mary would appear to him.
I got to the end, thanks for the upload and reaction. Pram is a four-wheeled carriage for a baby, but in this episode, is for spider baby. The three catholic priests are not related, but live together on an isolated island with their housekeeper (tea maker). Many of the sketches will take the fun out of the catholic church.

Each of the characters in "Father Ted" are brilliant. Father Jack Hackett is the archetypal cantankerous, dirty old man. Father Ted Crilley is the priest that looks after Jack and Father Dougal Maguire (the younger of the three). In other episodes they interact with priests in other presbyteries that are the mirror image of Ted, Jack and Dougal. Ted isn't Dougal's dad - they're just three priests that live in the same house. Mrs Doyle, their housekeeper, is wonderful too. She always, always wants people to drink copious cups of tea. Honestly, you need to watch all the rest of the episodes - they're all brilliant - and watching your reaction has made me realise how much I want to re-watch them all. They are comedy gold.
Not to forget, Graham Norton made is first appearance in the world of TV as annoying Father Noel... well annoying still he is, but much more famous

Best comedy ever and even today there is no comedy show that is as good as this

Pram is a shortened version of perambulator, which actually refers to someone who walks recreationally, 'Rambler' is also a shortened version of the same word, so as a babys buggy is a 'stroller' or 'walker' it was given the name a babys perambulator or pram for short

Father Ted is the Priest, Doogle is a trainee, Father Jack is a joke on how the Catholic Church sends bad Priests "out the way". The Woman Mrs Doyle is a joke that in Europe, in Catholic areas often Women will volunteer to look after the Priest, a surrogate Wife kind of.
Father Ted - Speed 3 is one of the best episodes

@BradandLucy watch this, Canadian podcasters and they've had no copyright infringement as far as I know. Glad to see you watching, though not from beginning so not aware of the characters.
They've had trouble with a couple episodes, episodes that another company has the rights to. CZcams is very weird though, I've seen someone manage to react to whole episodes of the whole series and others have to fight for edited versions so..

That " scary old dude " as you called him is a very fine Irish actor called Jack Kelly. A very very refined man in real life. This is your introduction to one of the best IRISH comedies ever which is an OTT spoof portrayal of the Catholic Church and the priesthood. It is totally tongue in cheek, and is just pure escapism !! ps - a " Pram " is what we Brits call a childs " push chair "

You need to watch the credits, on most episodes there’s a little bit more content through the credits. A pram is a baby carriage, I think you might call it a stroller. You have found a classic series here, Fr. Ted just gets funnier and funnier with each episode.

This was my favourite show growing up. Sadly there are only 3 seasons but they are all great. I think my personal favourite is speed 3 :)
This show was culturally very important in Ireland.
IT played an important part in de mystifying the Catholic Church and Ireland emerging as a more modern Secular nation.
John and Mary is a great sideshow putting on a performance for the priest's but the reality is absolutely brutal 😂
