- Times Square, referred to as "The Crossroads of the World", and "The Center of the Universe", is one of the world's busiest pedestrian areas with an estimated 50 million visitors per year. Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center and neighborhood in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. It stretches for 5 city blocks. and is brightly adorned with billboards and advertisements. Times Square is the most visited place globally with 360,000 pedestrian visitors a day, amounting to over 131 million a year.
Times Square is also the hub of the Broadway Theater District and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Times Square is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually. Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists, while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days.
Formerly known as Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed in 1904 after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the then newly erected Times Building - now One Times Square - the site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop which began on December 31, 1907, and continues today, attracting over a million visitors to Times Square every year.
Times Square functions as a town square, but is not a square in the geometric sense of a polygon; it is more of a bowtie shape, with two triangles emanating roughly north and south from 45th Street, where Seventh Avenue intersects Broadway. Broadway runs diagonally, crossing through the horizontal and vertical street grid of Manhattan laid down by the Commissioners' Plan of 1811, and that intersection creates the "bowtie" shape of Times Square.
The southern triangle of Times Square has no specific name, but the northern triangle is called Father Duffy Square. It was dedicated in 1937 to Chaplain Francis P. Duffy of New York City's U.S. 69th Infantry Regiment and is the site of a memorial to him, along with a statue of George M. Cohan, as well as the TKTS reduced-price ticket booth run by the Theatre Development Fund. Since 2008, the booth has been backed by a red, sloped, triangular set of bleacher-like stairs, which is used by people to sit, talk, eat, and take photographs.

🤩
Wow! I missed this when first reading the Wikipedia page --- "Times Square is the most visited place globally with 360,000 pedestrian visitors a day, amounting to over 131 million a year." Remarkable!
J Utah Yeah. Haven't been to NYC. Planning a trip next year. But standing in the middle of this square can be a heavenly experience given the volume of video advertisements. 😊
Anuj N My friend's here. 🤗
It important to have "experiences" like that! Variety :) "An absence of uniformity, sameness, or
monotony"

Thanks Reggie :)
Your Chicago downtown drive is most viewed video. Should do Chicago Night Drive.
Soo great to see this city again, especially at night! I miss it so much.
By the way, what camera are you using, and how did you mount it?
It shows nyc driving the most accurately
Your videos in New York are always welcome! Then even at night and a nice video length .... just perfect! Gladly more of it, thanks !!
Thanks kong! Honest opinion? Anything you'd change? Thanks for the feedback :)
It's damn hard to make any improvements here. Let's have a look!
Varied videos, perfect!
Video quality, perfect!
Request and implement suggestions from the community, perfect!
Contact with the Communtity in general, perfect! (considering what an work you have with making the videos)
But I have a suggestion ...
If you make video from cities, can you make the video more compact? You can often see streets (or areas) twice. That would also shorten some videos. (from about 50 minutes to 35 ~ minutes) In my opinion, this would make more people watch the videos sooner / earlier! I would rather click on it as a new viewer if it is to be seen in the suggestions.
Many also want longer videos, I read in the comments.
Maybe it would be great to make country roads / highways videos longer and make videos from cities a bit shorter?
Especially if you have already shown parts of the city in previous videos?
As you can see I have only one suggestion for improvement (video length), the rest is already great! Keep up the good work and thanks for everything J Utah!
Great information here.
If you make video from cities, can you ------------ I love this. I'm thinking of many examples right now.
Many also want longer videos, I read ----------- You draw an important distinction between these two formats. I need to write about this topic!
Its such a fun abstraction to discuss. I've thought about this as a type of slow TV. But it can't be too slow... maybe. You're thoughtful to share that feedback and I thank you! :)
I'm glad if I can help you! If you need more suggestions, I am here! Another idea could be special if you reach 100,000 subscribers! For example, if you introduce yourself in a video! I'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious who we're dealing with here :))
If you want to stay anonymous, that's ok too, that's a big step!
Dude ur videos are awesome. Please do more rural areas and national parks. Thx
Thanks for the suggestions! Many more to come :) Glad you like the videos!
busy city..nice video.. keep good work man
Thanks for the feedback :)

Nice video, a little on the short side. Ive been to NY but more in Manhattan side, one thing about NY taxi drivers they love to cut you off
Thanks for the feedback :) And yes. What a pleasure it is to drive in NYC!
O'Neil Maxwell Lagos also cuts u off
At what day was this video shot and what time? The streets are packed..

Debería ser siempre Times square un parque de atracciones
*London* In the night
I just love new York, i don't know why, but my biggest dream is fly to new York and listen the Frank Sinatra's song: "New York". At that point, i can die in peace
Book on Google Flights :) That is my preferred method for booking flights. For hotels, I only use Priceline! Or Priceline Express Deals. I love those two companies :)
Geez it’s stressful just watching this video. Sensory overload 😣
It is a lot to look at! :)
Please do a video of Miami beach at night, pleaseeee...
Had not thought of that! GREAT IDEA! :)

Are all stores and restaurants in Times Square open 24/7, since they say New York never sleeps?
I don't know about Times Square. I've always wanted to do a 3am video. Then we will find out.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Hindy!
outstanding we looking for VR video
This is exciting! CZcams will be launching an app available on Oculus hardware. Big step forward for VR I think. I will definitely start to make more VR videos again!

I’m watching this video cuz I’m a relatively new driver but I’m driving to NYC from Philly tomorrow night! Do you remember around what time the video was shot?
I’m really curious how your trip went did you make it alright
@@jessicareau9139 I made it alright! It was a little stressful though once I got to the city and the cab drivers were pretty aggressive cutting lanes.
What video do u use?
файно
Дякую!
At this video you have passed in total 25 traffic lights.
that's the kind of videos i want to see
Cheers :)

Hello
Hey quochai :)
Nice vid, but sound is from other source
In New York city, lane markers and parking areas are merely suggestions, and a horn or blinkers grants taxis full right of way.
504RoadTrips From my perspective, there are just WAY too many taxis on the road. NYC wonders why they have a traffic problem. Um, maybe because seemingly 7 out of every 10 vehicles is a cab, just clogging up the roads. They should cap it...maybe it already is capped. I don’t know. I know there’s a ton of people, but I doubt all of them need a cab.
很发达
300年来发生了很多事!
New york is awesome but i hate the new taxi cabs. Miss my ford crown fleetb
I've had a couple great discussions with friends about why this has happened. Its a common comment on any of the NYC videos. Camery's have become the new fleet car in the US as far as I can tell.
I personally think the new ones are more aesthetically pleasing. Not to mention, they take up much less space on the streets, and cabbies can’t use them to bully people out of the way, like they all used to with the tank-like Crown Vic’s.
Dima Dima - Great perspective from the Tourist. I had not thought about it like that!
i'm surprised i'm not the only one who fancied the old day cabs
Please do video Kuala Lumpur
Traffic, people, flags, commercials on the buildings. What's the deal?
Fascinating to think this really could be the center of the universe... and why... I like your question :)
还没有去过美国,看起来不错
我喜欢它!享受您的光临! :)
My dream job in newyork brooklyn... i want to settle there...
Is this only a one way street road??
Correct! Both 7th Avenue and Broadway are one way streets at in Times Square.
Newyork is a beautifull city to work and live but after moving to this city and working for 6 months every thing seems so much normal , even depressing sometimes... bcs of the moving cars , lots of LEDs smell of tyres and air quality . Soon you will start missing mountains ,trees and birds.
First night driving video by J Utah :)
Cheers Matthew :) Honest opinion? I'll upload a few more!
Why does every taxi car have round orange lamp (or light reflector) to the left of the license plate? What is its purpose?
Now we both know :)
www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/3oq2sl/this_taxi_has_a_silent_alarm_flasher_to_alert_a/
Reddit > Google
Thanks a lot. I am surprised, that not everyone know its purpose, especially if that alarm relies on other people's knowledge about its meaning. :)Then, it might be more useful, if there were a label "call 911" right on the light, which becomes visible and flashes when the alarm is turned on.
I would never EVER be able to drive down there. I would road rage way to much.
Ny driver seam to drive smarter not like Florida drivers they be switching lanes with no blinker or don’t even notes you .half the time. A lot of taxi driver tho idk how they make money with all of them but anyway Love the videos can’t wait to see more
Exactly! Drivers of the NYC/New Jersey area get a bad reputation for being “bad drivers,” but we’re actually some of the best drivers. Dense region=more people=more cars=more traffic=highly attentive driving required. The traffic and fast paced lifestyle up here is why drivers are impatient/aggressive which makes us seem like bad drivers, but we’re actually some of the smartest drivers
Idk probably because all the New Yorkers/New Jersey left New York/New Jersey for Florida now New York/New Jersey is full of transplants 🙄
Who said, New York the city that never sleeps?
Too INTENSE! My God. Just way too much flashing/stimulation, traffic, and people. I’m getting a migraine just looking at it. I don’t know how residents deal with it.
I can relate! :)
I live here just fine, not everywhere in NY is "Times square" you do have your quiet spots believe or not .especially where celebrities live.. lol
Please build new towns everything from the beginning new,. Why you dont build such, this is interesting how will be new town now.
Why do people ignore the lane markings lol
Crazy huh :) Was just discussing this with a friend. Remarkable article below on 6,300 miles of roads in NYC.
