Hi! Diana has a voice with a unique timbre. The main thing for me is her emotions. I don't understand how a girl, a schoolgirl (Diana was 15 years old then) could let the longing and pain of a lonely soul of an adult woman through her heart. Diana Ankudinova is certainly a gifted singer and actress.
Because she has been through so much. She was abused by her birth mother, who beat her, starved her and tried to drown her, and abandoned at a bus stop in the middle of the Russian winter with broken bones and so traumatized she could not speak properly. Relatives refused to care for her because she cried all the time (not surprisingly) and believed her to be "mentally retarded" (not my description) and so dumped her at an orphanage. At age 5 she was adopted and her adopted mother Irina sent her for singing lessons to aid her recovery, and she was singing in public within a couple of years. Once Diana began making appearances on TV her birth mother contacted her saying that the abuse thing wasn't true, and security on the TV sets for the show had to be increased to prevent her birth mother getting on set. Diana had a break down as a result. All before age 16. Diana today refuses to see herself as a victim and is positive and grateful for the opportunities she has had. However, she admits that she has dark times when she thinks of her past, and no doubt has learned to channel these dark times into performances like this, but Irina says it takes it out of her.
The song title translates to 'Blizzard' or 'Snowstorm'.
This performance doesn't get the attention that it deserves. Everyone, who sees it, understands that it's great. It's just not seen enough.

I'm with you on the throat thing and you aren't crazy. She does sing from the throat a lot. It fascinates me to listen to her shifting her voice so smoothly and powerfully from throat to chest to head and the tones she achieves are astounding. We have not yet seen all that she is capable of.

You dont sound crazy at all, I feel the same way. After listening to Diana my throat hurts as if I was the one singing but on the inside or smth, don't now to explain this
