Greg i like the fact they resisted the urge to take the vent windows out. Also I appreciate they kept the crank up windows and not electrify them. I kinda am partial to the wood and steel strip beds though. I really like how they didnt whimp out and LS the engine. I love the old small block Chevy engines.

I had a black 55 Cheverlet Pick up that had a 1968 327 V8 Corvette Engine with factory headers and aluminum 4 barrel intake with Eldelbrock Carb that I had built. It still had a 3 speed on the column, but with the low geared PT rear-end it was pretty fast 1/8th mile for a truck. In 1985 I turned 16 and had saved up 1,750 dollars in like one and a half year's mowing grass, hauling hay, raking leaves, and anything else I could find to do. I had seen that 55 chev a month earlier and was so afraid it was going to get sold before I could make the other 250 I needed. My dad surprised me about 3 weeks after my birthday and come by and picked me up from a leaf racking job I had that Saturday morning and took me to get it. Because I was working for my own money he paid half of the 2000 it cost which left me like 750 to order me some chrome rims and a radio and speakers. I was so proud of that truck for several reasons, the main one is that I worked for it myself. If I worked for things my Dad would help me out, but if I did not work for what I wanted then I went without. I see now that my dad would have liked to have just bought me what I wanted, but he knew what was best for me and what would get me the most out of life. I would not trade my upbringing with anyone now that I see what that did for me. I ended up selling it to my best friend and his son has it now.

Well although this comment was a bit out of place for a sales add I think it was very heartfelt and a very nice story thank you for sharing it. My first vehicle was a 75 Datsun low rider. I loved the lowered mini trucks and got a great deal on this truck $900 it in 1991 when I turned 16. It had all the bells an whistles true spoke rims, brand new custom interior, electric window n lock conversion a body kit with front lip, visor, hood crawl, punched ventilation Louvers throughout the body and a custom paint job with a mural on the tail gate of the truck itself son a beach. Man I loved that truck and miss it today. Those trucks have really started gaining value I been looking and can’t find a decent one for less than $10k unrestored. Anyway my story is not as heartfelt as yours but like you I had to save up and fell a bit short and my mom pitched in $150 because I had saved for so long but she made me work for it and that’s ok. When I picked the truck up the person selling it wanted me to get it towed because she brakes needed replaced she thought but I hopped in and drove it home fine and saved $75 in towing. Sorry if I bored you all with my story I know this was a sales add for a 1955 Chevy but Nostalgia kicked in.

I’m just trying to find one that’s standard because I think they look better

That's a fallacy about the wood bed. There are literally a dozen chemical applications that would waterproof the wood and it looks WAY better than that cheesy steel plate

@@jacksonjordan6884 Why provide misinformation if you do not know what your're talking about? Beautifully restored truck from 7 years ago and those type of models sell today for not too much more than half of your ridiculous quote

@@jacksonjordan6884 These people price their vehicles ridiculously high! You are probably right with your price guess but even though it's a beautiful truck, it's worth nowhere near $100k. This place is on the good stuff when they price their shit!
