Nice sound, Nice to see the night lichts on the f-35. What buys Finland? The Beautifull Gripen or the f-35?

I'm not sure, but i think Finland will choose either the Super Hornet or F-35. In my opinion the F-35 would be the best choice because its the most modern and its the only 5th generation fighterjet of all the candidates.

@@Finaero ok, in the Netherlands we choose F-35 above the Gripen. Because it could fit on a view missionstasks a little bit better than the Gripen. Two of them are payload and stealth. But the Gripen needs not much space and runway as the f-35, also its cheaper, faster and not complicated to repair them.

@@jouniairplanevideos As a Swede and a big fan of the Swedish/Finnish military cooperation (And Gripen), I would love if the Finns would choose the Gripen E/ Global eye, but the most important thing is that they choose what's best for them because what's good for Finland is good for Sweden in this case. :)

Personally I think from most likely to least likely it will be:
      1.Gripen E
      2.Super Hornet
      3.Eurofighter Typhoon
      4.F-35
      5.Dassault Rafale
Gripen E imho is the most likely choice because its unit+operating costs are most affordable by far and Sweden is likely going to support them to the end of the planned lifespan Finland has for them (till 2060). Its also proven to be quite capable fighter, even if its not the most advanced. Also it could tighten the co-operation with Finnish and Swedish air forces.
Super Hornet is 2nd most likely candidate because it would be relatively easy to jump from Hornet to Super Hornet and we would get Growler versions as well. The reason why I think Gripen E has the edge however is because there is no guarantee how long US/Boeing will continue to support Super Hornets, they are by far the oldest fighters in this competition and they cannot in my understanding fire Meteor-missiles, which would put their air to air capabilities behind Gripen E, Typhoon and F-35. However they would be 2nd most affordable planes to operate after Gripen E.
Typhoon would have the edge over F-35 imho because while also expensive, it is atleast bit more affordable, its perhaps the most agile/maneuverable figther of all 5 and I honestly dont believe the stealth capabilities F-35 has will offer that significant advantage anymore 10 to 30 years from now.
So ye while F35 would afford the latest tech and would by far be used well beyond 2060 by many countries most likely (while all these other fighters might be retired by then), its operating costs are still way beyond the rest and if it loses its edge in stealth to better radar tech, then its performance actually would likely not be that great when compared to the rest. And I honestly doubt whether the stealth features of F35 will be that good anymore by 2060. Most of all we would need to afford to operate them at all times/conditions and in that area especially Super Hornet and Gripen E have huge edge over F35
As for Rafale I just dont believe in its chances, because it has the lowest userbase in my understanding of all these fighters, and its French tech is quite bit different and would require more time getting into than with these other fighters.
Overall Im also basing this on the fact what kind of government Finland currently has as its their decision to make and I think they will go with budget first.

@@Finaero , I have seen complains that Super hornet might have too short service life time in US. This would then leave Gripen and maybe Rafael as closest competitors. Also there is also article like www.tekniikkatalous.fi/uutiset/kl-ilmavoimien-suosikit-uudeksi-havittajaksi-ovat-f-35-ja-saab-jas-39-gripen/d5618641-2d6b-3863-a495-be97944cc0d5 claiming Gripen is second favorite because of costs and descent performance promises.

@marc smith You are wrong Gripen E has a combat radius of 1500 km...there are absolutly no problem with loiter time for Gripen E which has 40% more internal fuel then Gripen C.
Gripen E is much cheaper to opreate then all US fighters.
..and Gripen E has the latest ASEA and IRST from SELEX/Leonardo.
