- There are plenty of games I'd love to complete. Some are too tedious, others would ruin the game for me by devoting way too many hours where it's not fun anymore. This is my list of games I love but will never complete!

How can this guy have the guts to release new videos?
Makes me think of any SAO game ever, I really enjoyed some of them, but man are they a nightmare to complete even the offline achievements, let alone the Hell that is their online achievements, the difficulty spike between those and the base game are absolutely absurd because of the amount of level grinding you need to do to bridge the gap...
“I know that this was a weird top 10…”
My brother in Christ, that was not a top 10
he didn´t complete it ;)
Even weirder then!
I assume he recorded this before coming up with a title, or realizing he didn’t have 10 exact games he didn’t want to complete.
Brother in Christ? 😂
Odd that he says at the end this was a "Top 10" list, but the count starts at #8.
An incomplete list haha
He did say it was a weird top ten lol
He does have a bit of difficulty making it to the end of a numeral list, but being off by two is better than being off by a big five and four zeroes
He said it's "a list" not a "top 10 list." And while he's using the old voice "number X" clips and such, he's not specifically placing any of the items on the list in any specific order.
Ya'll gotta do better understanding context instead of trying to find any and every means to bully him.
Maybe he donated the other 2 entries to Open Hands.
Maybe don’t take into account on online trophies next time? Or remark there completed on offline achievements 😄
Honestly, you should only complete a game if it’s fun.
If you 100% complete a game, it's basically like coming to the end of a story and putting the book on the shelf FOREVER.
I disagree. Sometimes it can just be about the sense of accomplishment that comes from the pursuit even if the core experience isn't deserving of it.
Being able to say it's not worth someone else's time with the experience to back it up.
Absolutely, otherwise what’s the point?
True play what you love buddy
LEGIT
Founder of team0% here. Thanks for the shoutout, but you got your facts wrong about the last level. Couldn’t hurt to do some more research on some things ❤
What was he wrong about?
@@OhDipRight lol at least specify
the level itself was made using TAS - there wasn't ever any doubt in the legitimacy of the team 0% member.
@@OhDip the person who uploaded the level used a TAS to get the initial clear, so once the creator disclosed that it wasn't intended to be human-completable, team 0% claimed the win
He wasn't wrong though?
He said that the user who cleared the last level, the creator, used a modded Wii U with TAS to beat it and upload it?
Pokemon Black/White 2 will always sit in a place of "I wish I could complete this," but with the medals tied to people you interact with in the real world, I don't see it happening without a hefty community planning it out.
As much as I love Pokemon games I can never bring myself to complete them. The Pokédex is just too damn big
Version exclusives is kind of a kick in the nuts too.
That’s something I kinda like about the Pokédex being smaller in new games. I was able to actually complete Violet’s dex
@@KTcDPIYjGJthat’s what was great about the 3DS games. The GTS
The best thing Pokemon did was implement Wonder Trade. Take all those doubles you've caught, version exclusives, spare legendaries, and breeding rejects, and toss them out into the aether for other people. And get random Pokemon back.
Now, I had a 100% Pokedex coming out of gen 5, so clearing gen 6 and later was perfunctory - but after USUM, I was badly burnt on the series, and SwSh was the final nail in the coffin - I never finished it.
Hope they make it the exact same for the Legends Z-A as they did with Arceus, giving you all you need in a single game instead of trying to give you an RNG code for exclusives or crap like that.
Literally as you were talking about number 8, I was playing The End is Nigh, and I think it's a great in-between from a difficult platformer and a rage platformer. I consider things like Celeste and VVVVVV to just be a difficult platformer, but things like I Wanna Be The Guy and Cat Mario as rage playformers, and I think The End is Nigh is a perfectly beautiful in-between!
Achievements in general are why i don't care for Completing games
Achievements outside the games are not really part of the completionism concept anyways. Since you are completing *the game* and not the checklist of what the devs or some random employee thought was rad.
I figured he would have mentioned the NIS rpg's like Disgaea or La Pucelle. Those games have insane completion requirements that can get absolutely daunting to people without the time to dedicate to them.
For FFXIV, I'd say even completing the in game achievement list would be a chore. That would mean maxing out every class, along with the respective Zodiac weapon. Just that alone would be a slog, but there's also the sightseeing log, PvP, Grand Company, Gold Saucer, etc. The game is an example of giving you a lot to do, but not expecting you to do everything.
EDIT: Just going to add that the game does have Trophies on PS4/5. They do have a tedious grind to them, but that could qualify as completion, if you so choose.
i got platinum on PS4, but the PS5 platinum is a much heavier grind.
I’ve got both platinums and roughly 7k hours playtime
Crypt of the Necrodancer is absurd with its requirements to 100%.
I used to complete every Sonic game I played, even Advance 2, but Heroes was too much for me. Team Chaotix B Missions broke me.
Unlocking super hard mode is one of my life accomplishments
Actually 8 didn't felt it was that bad. 8f anything the 100 robots thing f9r Team Dark was worse!
Heroes broke you? I A ranked everything in that and I didn't feel anything particularly mind breaking. I've 100% most sonic games and I felt like SA2B gave me more mental health problems
Is it worse than doing all the story paths in Shadow The Hedgehog?
@@chucknorris2418 I would say so. The only two of those that were a nightmare were Lost Impact and The Doom. At least you unlock special weapons that make some of those missions a breeze.
Both games have similar problems though, pixel hunting in a speed-based platformer without a map or radar.
Friday the 13th the game is playable but out if circulation. It's probably the rarest platinum trophy I got. Pokemon black and white 2 with their medals probably the hardest game to complete
If you think Crypt of the Necrodancer is bad I think Hi Fi Rush is good to be right there as a game that balls hard to complete if you are not perfect at rhythm based games.
What a great idea for a topic. I’m very interested after all your experiences what falls into this category.
I adore Pokemon Snap because it's a relaxing game where I can do virtually every single thing in that game in just a few hours. New Pokemon Snap for me is almost an example of a game having TOO much stuff, and I'll probably never finish it, regardless of how much I loved it.
the MM1 completion thing is actually the opposite; it was originally, on upload, cleared by a TAS, meaning it never should have counted towards the total to begin with. Thus, they retroactively beat the last level about a week ago.
And then a week after finding this out, some mad lad actually beat the level anyways
@@homerman76 "Can't really call it completed if it isn't completed" -Mad lad
The Mario maker last level was uploaded as a TAS which is how it was originally posted that's how it was originally cleared in order to be able to be uploaded to the servers.
Me and a buddy used to compete for gamer score… after 2 years of buying games for easy achievements, we both looked at each other like what are we doing. I don’t 100% any game unless i really want to.
A few games I have played but most likely would never complete let alone beat are the 2D Sonic the Hedgehog games, not because the games are bad at all by any means, but because the fact that I am not really good at getting far within them and all.
And I think one Top 10 I'd like you to do is one on some games that we would really like to see you complete on the show someday, something like that.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the most accessible and worthwhile to complete (getting the chaos emeralds/beating the special stages is actually quite enjoyable, plus the final Super Sonic battle is great).
Excellent
Yay! FFXIV! Great that you love this game! And yes, good to not try to complete it, best to have fun your way and set your own goals than what the game “tells” you!
I think you should’ve established early on, that you will only complete the offline achievements.
I've seen him complete games with all the achievements both online and offline if he could at least
It’s a timetable thing. If he completes a game when it comes out the online feats are easy cuz the servers are full…. If it’s a ten year old game? Damn near impossible.
@@TuckerLeeCIt can be terrible. There's an XCom achievement where you have to play against someone who already has the achievement. I don't even want to know how hard that one would be now.
He has
Certain Final Fantasy games like 9 and 12 are brutal to complete.
What is brutal about 9?? I'm curious to hear this.. coming from someone who finished it
The jump rope game and Excalibur ii
@@javonbatiste3294 the jump rope minigame and Ozma
I quit after I found the jump rope mini game, never experienced ff9 much at all.
This is how I feel about Shadow the Hedgehog (PS2) right now.
The game is a CHORE to complete. And despite having the internet to find out the ways to do it, I don't wanna use it. It's more fun doing it myself.
I did it when the internet was in its infancy. I will never do ir again.
Are you on retroachievements? You going after that 326 paths grind? 😂😂
@@drewneathway1482 Hahaha. Nah, just replaying an old game and tryna complete it...
Big. MISTAKE!
@@gurentgc3546 I can see why. Now, whenever I play a Maria lead mission, I'm like: "This is why they went after us, Maria. THIS IS WHY!"
Some games are just not made to be completed even if you devote hundreds of hours into it, you can love the experience and really enjoy the games, but the magic doesn't work the same a second time.
Animal Crossing is that game for me, I completed the museum, a few collections, the DLC, got all the event rewards, New Horizons was such a commitment for me I don't think I'll ever get back into it, that sort of magic doesn't work so well the second time.
There’s more than 1 ac game lol
I actually completed vvvvvvvvvv and.... I'll never touch it again
I loooooove VVVVVV. The soundtrack is phenominal.
Completing BotW and TotK is crazy enough already!
Tears of the Kingdom actually isn't that hard, the only "issue" is Korok seeds but it can go pretty smooth with a guide.
I think it took about 600 hours for me but I did a lot of random messing around with building stuff, so it could be done in probably about 300-400, maybe 200 if you just use the guide instead of trying to find them on your own.
@@John-bj1zx So much easier in TOTK thanks to the hover bike and them giving you the DLC features from the previous game for free. I never committed to getting even enough to max weapon slots in BOTW, but in the sequel I collected more than enough just cause I liked flying around so much.
Top 10 of Japanese games that you would like to see in English or a top 10 games that are in Japanese that you have played.
That'd be a good list.👍
That’s way too hard to narrow down, especially from the NES+SNES era.
@@GamerFromJump But Saturn, 64 and forward is easy.
I honestly thought you'd put splatoon 3 on this list considering how much of a grind it is to get everthing. from locker items to just grizco gear that takes way too much time to get the scales for. that game is seriously NOT worth completing.
it's not even worth playing in the first place lmao
What a roller coaster of a list 😂 Didn't expect the number 1.
100% agree, nevertheless
Personally, I wouldn’t touch Metal Gear Solid 5. The game is amazing, but the completion is beyond insane. Even the supposed nuclear disarmament is impossible due to glitches. See Did You Know Gaming if you are interested.
Wait, this means he might still do Enter the Gungeon!
How about the Top 10 games that you would be happy to complete repeatedly, every single year.
That may open the door for alot of people to try to consistently ask for a replay of a bunch of games overshadowing new ones
Reminds me of the time you tried completing ToZ Hyrule Warriors.
Celeste. It hurt my hands!
You got through the 100% of Hyrule Warriors... surely, you can get through Diablo II eventually. You can do it!
almost never replay games. super rare, esp if puzzles and/or i already know the story. years later I played again through Links Awakening so you know who good that was when I actually revisited a progression based game like that. But I will play a ton of Advance Wars, Clubhouse Games, cause each map/game always different, and replay marios etc to revisit fave levels. but not story based. I already spent 600 hours on Witcher 3. couldnt imagnie ever having that much time again
This is Souls for me
Don't think I ever truly 100 percented any game
I completed Wario Land.
someone did actually 100% all FFXIV achievements a little while ago. It only took 10 years. there are some absolutely ridiculous achievements in the game. from uber grindy ones like 20,000 accursed hoard (basically invisible chests that can sometimes spawn in a few specific dungeons), to time limited ones like the levequest achievements (essentially daily optional quests) that apparently take 7 years to complete, to rng ones like winning a million mgp from the cactpot (literally an in game lottery)
Maybe Top 10 most annoying but fun parts of games? Like things that are enjoyable but they do it too much or its harder than you expect and so it becomes annoying to keep doing especially if you have to complete it?
Example?
I admit, for me, the vast majority of games I love are ones that I wouldn't want to "complete", for one reason or another. I've always been one for enjoying my games for as short or long as I feel like, then putting them down until the urge pops up again down the line. Even among some of my favorite games of all time, like Legend of Mana, Final Fantasy 9, the Dot Hack series, and some others, I couldn't see myself "Completing" them, due to just how nigh impossible a task it would be, given some challenges or criteria that are required for such. Overall, I can definitely sympathize with not wanting to complete every game under the sun, given how positively crazy it would be to do so. That all said, great list, Jirard, looking forward to whatever comes next man.
Legend of Mana is fully completable in a single run if you take the correct order of missions, which would take about ~25h. So if you feel like doing a replay, just go for it. FFIX is also not that much more than the main story if you know what to do (save for those damn frogs!). But COmpleteing all dot hack games would be truly mental 😄
Even though I got Platinum Trophies for both MHWorld and Iceborne, I can't bring myself to do the same for MHRise:Sunbreak. Farming the gold crowns just isn't anything I can bring myself to do again. If MHWs releases with trophies for all small/large gold crowns, I at least hope it has some mechanic to increase chances, or at least release event quests with increased chances for them, even if they're vastly harder than normal. Completing MH games are annoying.
To me it´s fighting games, I love Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Tekken but I will never complete any of those.
Ohh, interesting topic! Thanks for sharing
Xenoblade is the most "I love this game but will never complete it"
Because so much grind and things you must do to get 100%
I tried to do it with Xenoblade 1, I gave up when i had to beat a monster 10 levels more than my party and couldnt, so I just beat the game
Honestly, 1 is the worst one to complete. 2 is tedious because of the gacha, and 3 requieres a lot of grinding, but they're not so bad, specially 3.
I wish more people played xenoblade. I may make it my life's mission to get more people to play that series
I told myself that I will 100% every single one of them.
Horrendous mistake, lmao. Thus far, I only managed Torna and Future redeemed. The grind is real and even worse than Kirby and the Forgotten Land somehow.
Man I would love to see another Diablo 2 Hardcore with PBG and the crew.
Look, as unhealthy as it could be, I'm still gonna try to complete FF14. We just don't count the event/timed achievements. And that itself is still a huge undertaking.
Good luck dude I’m on their 4 expansion 😂
I will always 100% complete games... that I want to.
Same.
Can someone tell me what song plays at 0:34 and from what game it is killing me trying to remember
First stage of I Wanna Be The Guy music
Will you play Age of Calamity?
I remember him hating the completion process for the original Hyrule Warriors, but Age of Calamity is much more approachable from a completion perspective.
AoC was a very bad game. Wasn't even canon. It was the first and last "Warriors" game I was ever going to buy. Worst Hack n Slash combat I've ever played in my life
@@cqllel5186agreed, not my cup of tea 10/10 would not recommend.
I set out a goal of having 100% on all games I buy on steam
I am doing fine
But I made a huge mistake buying ceypt of the necrodancer and Muse dash (The only music game I am not God waful in is melatonin)
AND played TF2, I think, the only game that you can not delete from your steam account if you've played it at least once
Surprised Animal Crossing didn't make it on this list
You're badly informed on team 0%, people were immediately sceptical on the first clear, however only a few hours later another player managed to beat the last dance. So it has been completed for a few days now.
It wasn't Last Dance that was holding it up at the end. It was Trimming the Herbs. The creator used a TAS to upload it they admitted.
I do my best to complete every game I get, but i'm definitely guilty of "ooo steam sale", and buying games i've yet to load up.
I didn't see a yakuza game👀
They aren't that hard????
@@Frosty11037 to 100% tho....
Never was able to be a completionist myself, either from lack of interest in grinding or just being interested in just the stories. First and only game I remember completing was GTA Vice City. I tried with San Andreas until my copy stopped working.
A game i love and will never complete. is Batman: Arkham City.
The first game i ever owned, but i just could never beat it. I did most of the main story, and then just quit.
I just beat this recently I totally suggest going back again and trying once more
Doing the Riddler Trophies were too tedious for me. Pretty sure I did every side quest aside from that. I've never really had any interest in the challenge maps, so I barely touched those in Asylum or City.
I did this with all three. I literally put a podcast on and zoned out 😂
This was also when I had a lot more time to play games 😂
Some of the Arkham games had crazy 100% requirements too. I think it was Origins that had a Blackest Knight achievement where you had to beat the game on hard without dying, but there was a bug that locked it out unless it was also done in one sitting, without the game crashing
@@bartman64 That's just insane!
This is heart breaking
You could say, to currently complete FF14: main stories and raids completed, all characters leveled to max of current class/quests, all side quests completed.
Knack 2
Knack is the greatest game of all time. It just doesn’t feel that good when you play it because of how subtly the devs decided to present its greatness.
@@simonlegosson7082 Gotta respect the restraint the devs had.
Honestly I was kind of expecting number two to be "MMOs in general".
Because honestly, I wouldn't even make my most hated enemies go through the torture of just completing World of Warcraft: Classic, even on just one character. That would be too much, even higher than orange juice after a thorough toothbrushing.
I went pretty hardcore on Crypt of the Necrodancer and even picked it back up with every new DLC. I did some of what I consider the most ridiculous achievements like the infamous Aria Low% All Zones clear. And I am still not even close to good enough to complete that game. And I never will be.
Love the list
I've been saying for years that trophies should not be considered part of completion. Most of the time when you mark something as "Finish It", it's because of trophies, and not because of the game. I'd love to see completion defined as playing 100% of a game, with a New Game + followup episode about achievement hunting.
As a completionist, there have been a few games I wanted to play but won’t touch since it’ll leave a stain on my profile since 100%ing would be horrible. Like the Gears of War series.
So “Top 10 Games that are too Daunting to Start”
I’m trying to 100% complete the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game on the gameboy so I can continuously reset the DS version. My god it’s grindy. It takes forever to recruit the Pokémon but I’m so close to getting them all and then evolving them. After that I just need to get jirachi, celebi, the final team rank, and the mime jr statue.
While working a 9 to 5?
@@RetroBacon1 yeah, I’m a preschool teacher. I play for about an hour or so each night. A little goes a long way
@@Radiogumdrop you sound like a cool teacher :)
Legit list and good reasons they were all consistent none of it had to do with skill issues or having a bias towards the franchise. Having daunting thousands of hour's and more needed for 100% is too wild just to have that flex
It's like online achievements are a bad thing for completionists
I still tell myself that I will go back to Rock Band 2 to get the “bladder of steel” trophy
Top ten games of just finish/beat it
Surprised FF9 isn't on here.
There’s one life achievement still necessary, one I personally think is more important than games
That is none of our business
@@Jackattack359 lol ok sure
@@366liam what? With the way he worded it, he made it sound like he was talking about himself. It ain’t my fault you guys are terrible at subtly

Please do videos on Custom Robo & Kirby Air Ride
I know that I would not complete sonic heroes since the chaos emerald challenge is impossible and the final boss is hard.
Its a hard game to 100% but id love to see you complete kid icarus uprising
Mario maker will be finish team 0%
Cant complete every game.
I’m surprised you didn’t complete and review “Metroid Prime Remastered”😮
It's Red Dead Redemption 2 for me. Amazing game, but so much you need to explore.
I second that
aww i was hoping for a new pokemon snap episode :C
Ain’t that crazy!
I wonder what made him want to complete hyrule warriors fully but not these gamesss
Probably Hyrule Warriors, lol :)
dead or alive xtreme beach volleyball 2
extreme platformers are my least favorite game type.
They take very little skill to develop. That's really what POs me about them.
Star ocean the last hope 🎉
A good game, I haven't looked at the achievements. I really wish Till the End of Time was on PC... That was my favorite Star Ocean.
Unique hunts not … well… what he said
Some games are meant only to have fun
💪
The first 3 games i ever 100% were lego pirates of the caribbean, kirby squeak squad and ocarina of time 3d
For me, it's the Gears of War games
So far good vid
For New Pokémon Snap why can’t you just try to advertise a picture you made on your Discord to get that Achievement?
That would be exploiting. At that point, why even bother?
I think for FF14 completionism is what you make of it really. The in-game achievement system is probably the only objective metric though.
Before Dawntrail drops I've been on a grind to do everything I can, and it's been pretty fun! I finally got my nightmare pegasus from PotD which I've been wanting for like 6 or 7 years now.
