    Larry Rudolph said she learned Piano in one weekend. Shortly after she started writing Everytime.
    I also saw a comment that said the director of Overprotected videos said Britney showed up to set crying because Justin broke up with her in a text.
    She was so strong for so long. Everyone has a breaking point. At that age I had friends taking their own lives for much less that she was subjected to. It’s a miracle she’s alive and still has some of her marbles left.
    There’s so much more to her than she gets credit for. I hope she finds true happiness.

  • @grantvaleska
    @grantvaleska Před 2 lety +78

    I think your friend chose a lot of great titles as deep cuts, each one defines the sound that was happening at the time it was released. Fan favorites are always deeply subjective, I know people who strongly dislike Cinderella but I definitely consider it one of my highlights of 'Britney'. How I Roll was an interesting choice from Femme Fatale, I'm guessing your friend is a hyperpop fan - it's a great track, just unexpected! The choices for In the Zone, Blackout, Circus, Britney Jean (even with the hot mess production on the final/released version of Alien smdh), & Glory are all really great tracks to explore and represent the album's sound.
    I highly recommend exploring Blackout or In the Zone if you need a first album to react to. One of those are, without a doubt, the majority of Britney fan's favorite album! Great reaction and thanks for giving our girl her props! ♥

    • @MarcoDeMarlo
      @MarcoDeMarlo Před 2 lety +4

      Hi Grant! My intent was to pick songs that give you the feel of the album and after watching the video, I think they really did that! I was also mindful to not choose all the most interesting songs in case Dan does choose to dive into her discography (Dan, you MUST!). Gotta save the gems for last. While I am definitely a hyper pop fan, How I Roll is not a song I particularly like tbh (I usually skip it) but a little research showed me there are people that actually care about the song 😂 Britney’s discography is so extensive that reducing it to a handful of songs just won’t do. On a side note, it killed me to ignore b-sides and bonus tracks cause some are better than the album tracks! (That’s another video idea for you, Dan! 😜)

    • @grantvaleska
      @grantvaleska Před 2 lety

      @@MarcoDeMarlo If I was grading your choices you would definitely be getting top scores! It's sooo hard not to include b-sides and bonus tracks when choosing songs for new listeners to hear because often times those are some of her strongest work. I'm guessing her label would give her more freedom to pick bonus tracks, hence why they often sound wildly different than the overall standard album. Great job though - he definitely needs to dive deep into her discography (specifically the fan adored albums), she has so much greatness to be heard!
      P.S. Thank you for choosing a Britney Jean song she actually sang. LMAO There's only a handful and your choice was perfection!

    Yes! Absolutely do a deep dive into her albums! Britney has always been such a paradox in the way of being such a huge pop star yet she is so underrated and snubbed by the public when it comes to her art. She has often been the front runner in exploring new sounds and bringing them mainstream and getting not credit for it. If you talk to any producer or songwriter that has worked with her they always say how blown away and underrated that she is. So I’m so excited to see what you think of the rest of her work. She has always been more than a few singles, she has always been an album artist.

    I am also the biggest Britney fan! Like it’s unhealthy how much I adore her. She def writes more than ppl think she does. Of course she has other ppl come in and write with her just like almost any other artist. Her vocabulary of music is criminally underrated. Of course everyone knows her big hits. But there are so many fantastic songs that not enough ppl know about. She is a brilliant artist and one of the most unique and inspiring voices of our generation. And I think what makes ppl root for her is that she is so genuine and down to earth. She’s such a sweet girl. And everyone who has collaborated her says she is just a joy to work with. Will I am said that she was so professional and that her love of music and what she does was so inspiring.

    Fun facts about Blackout.. first and only album of hers to be inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame, also the first mainstream album to introduce dubstep. She inspired bringing dubstep into mainstream. Also the last album she did before the conservatorship, it was the album she had the most creative freedom over and it’s now referred to as the “pop bible” artists in the industry reference the “Britney model” when building a career and Blackout is what started all of it. Funny bc that’s when her “breakdown” began.. I mean at the end of it all, she’s Britney Spears(the cultural icon and global superstar that never loses her A List status regardless, for a reason) All the post 2010 hits were influenced by her albums and those artists openly admit it.. she’s a legend 🤷🏻‍♂️

      It was hard to choose! I think unusual you is too good to be listened to as a stand-alone song. Better for the album reaction!

    Being a huge Britney fan starting from her early career, and you actually think that there’s amazing hits on her supposed being “bad” albums, actually made me somehow emotional, since I always found something enjoyable on all her albums.
    So very many thanks for this one
