I think you put that very well, I agreed with everything you said even as I was hearing for the first time. I am one who has been married but never discovered the reality of love with my spouse. Truth, honesty, loyalty, and fidelity where all I expected as a given in a marriage. A safe place to start and raise a family. I found out some live for the chemical highs and are willing to destroy what is for that next high. I do not remember me being grateful, accepting, and showing appreciation I don't think I got there and so after 20 yrs and 2 kids I do not think I ever truly loved my wife even though I was loyal, honest, faithful and truthful. Just to make it clear she was the one looking for the chemical highs, as far as love was concerned I now believe she was an empty cup, a well designed and shapely cup.

that was something i told myself. after heartbreak episodes, and doing my shadow work, finally i got a sense of understanding that what i called as "love", all the "strong" feelings i experienced, were most likely not the love itself. bcs love will be always love. a diamond will always be a diamond. but my experiences said otherwise. i thought it was diamond but then it turned into pebble. but at that time, i refused to acknowledge that. bcs i felt guilty for thinking negatively. so yeah falling in love is different with the love itself. falling in, can be falling out someday. but love, a real one, will always stay the same. once i recognized that, i began to be able to identify which feeling is just "like", "care", "respect", "lust".. and love (to me) is a whole different thing... from my birthchart i knew that im a neptunian, and neptunian is prone to illusion. 😂 lol and well i have venus in 12H, chiron in 7H, so relationship is major pain in my life. but through that, i can see what real love is.
In my opinion there are 2 options. You want to have a relation with an other person and you call that love, or you want to find love within yourself. For the first, both will always have to ajust themselfs to keep the relationship going. And for the second, you need to follow the way of searching in yourself, watch your emotions and when you reach the moment that there are no more emotions you will reach your inner self. Then there is love. To be your deepest self is love. Then you are love. To be ore not to be, love ore not love. There is no middle way.
That means if u understand or realise the love that u r in is only chemical and biological, without being carried away by it, there is ample possibility that u can time test ur love to a highr level of understanding, right?
