Running the same system on my TLR Typhon. Mine quickly got hot with a 16t pinion. I'm in S. Florida so it was hot out too. Ended up getting a fan for the motor. Might have to gear it down a bit more.

if you rise the pinion T, you need a big battery with a lot of amp, but if you gear down you have long run time you don't need big chunk of amps

Should look in to upgrade your connectors to high amp u would be surprised how much it will make a big difference never thought it did till helped in some tests with connectors with proper equipment and add a cap pack can also help with the sag of the battery alot people under estimate how much those little things help with heat and draw I even use xt90 on crawlers now I run ec5 or bigger on anything bigger than 4s go out and run it way u have it check the temps and then change the connector and u see a big drop in heat I build all type of things with electric motors and it all helped iny hobby with rc's keep up great work and have a wonderful day.
Definitely we all underestimate this and the extra rtr wires have go unless you going run two batteries .

i got a 18t pinion on my tlr typhon with the same set up ! my temps are fine with no motor fan. but that was a 85 degree day ! also stock esc setting no turbo!

also i use spektrum ic5 connectors with are rated for 150 amps where as xt-90 are rated for 90 amps!
I just put this exact G2 combo in my Arma Vorteks 4x4 2 days ago, Absolutely love it, But the fan won’t work on the ESC I tried everything & the ground looks like it’s not getting contact on the plug in.
The Typhon's are cool. I don't have one yet!!!maybe soon🤔

Planes, using 3s, 4s, & 6s WE set our volt per cell down to 3.5. i think HW's 'Low' is set at 3.7

Joe you wouldn't believe how many runs my max 8 2200 kv in my typhon . It's on 3td chassis 2nd motor but that max still working . The wires leads are shot though even at the base lol . Yea the 2200 hw kv was at its limit with typhon= 9.4 lbs has still be geared well the 2050 rtr motors do better even though 4.5 bullets opposed to 6 mm
Definitely have gear down with 2500kv I was curious maybe bc gen 2 it work but also higher kv

Very informative videos. Is it ok for a 4000kv motor to use more than a 3s battery ?
4000kv is typically for 2s. Wild on 3s. Probably uselessly fast and dangerous to system on 4s. 4s motors are typically in the 2000-2500kv range.

Oh man that truck's going to be a beast with a hobbywing G2 setup that would definitely be a build I would be interested in doing I love the wind to go and when you put a good brushless system in it it's a hell of a truck those axles can take as much power as you can throw at them.
From my measurements, it will barley fit. I will let you know how if it works out. Just finished the kit, waiting on electronics

Actually.you can. They make the adapter to hook.to standard sensor escs. Bit I doubt a Castle is gonna "unlock" any more potential. Just give you more info on a graph.but Joe can always do a comparison and see

That's a 6S system right? And your using 4S. Man that typhon Rips alot more punch then the Spectrum system. Definitely pop on a fan heat sink and fan. Maybe a 15T would be better 🤔 or 14T
I'm looking to get just the esc for my 6s kraton rtr, curious about that sensored wire though. since the stock motor doesn't have the sensored wire, will that work?? or can you remove the sensor wire from the esc??
Naar bro go with the max6.... Kraton is to heavy for max8. Maybe on 4s it will be ok but definitely not on 6s....
Do you prefer it on 4S or 6S?

Does the g2 esc 6s work with the 1650KV motor guys? I think the 2250kv is way to fast for my kraton XL. To bad they don't make a 2000kv or 2050kv. Well if they do not sure where to find them

The 6s is awesome. These buggies are only as good as you are, so they have almost no limit
I got a bad batch of 4 of those cnhl 4s 5600,mah all of them are junk dropped cells from new won't balance charge and have terrible performance. went to the zeee 6200s there great so far
I’ve been messing with these 5600’s and it seems this system doesn’t like them. Needs to be 6000mah or more
Yeah I wanted to like them for my e buggy and truggy associated rc8b3.2s but I can't take the stress of the poor quality cells and honestly they ran like a 3s battery in my track race setups. Idk. I can't see paying 200 for a gena ace but maybe you get what you pay for.
I have had more then great success with the cnhl 4s 70c g plus series 5000mah but my local track requires hard case.
Put that castle x back in with that homles motor
Like to see the stock 6s system and how it performs to changing it out to the HW 4s system....or stock system on 4s....just to see the comparison and if it's worth it to upgrade the system or not? Also these are pretty tough stock, not sure the aluminum bits are needed on this one? My Senton has been beaten for years, no failures, 100% stock.
Well duh! Lol you went up on kv and up on pinion and medium cutoff. What did you think was gonna happen lol. Good run though that 2500kv is gonna be beast on 4s

I have found that the "C" rating is also important. If you have a high power system but your battery has a low "C" rating your car will cog. Thoughts?
And 6 forget About it you need like a 14 or 15 even with the 2200kv too much amps and heat like yoy said

Yes , I'm pisst off cause I'm racing my TLR typhon and the guys at the track said you need a 1900 kv or 1400kv. Running a 16 tooth said to hgh but even with the G2 combo I'm restricted to motor choice. So I'll by a max8 pro, and 1900kv. Might get a truggy later and put in the G2 2250kv system
Also 200gms lighter to save weight.
Bro! You shuld respect a law! One S per kilo. If your typhoon weight 6kg so you shuld run 6s.
