After our loss in week one, I said we would be the best 0-17 team, or the worst 6-11 team. I honestly would have taken the 0-17 at this point.
This was the game that sealed Staley's fate. With Herbert done for the year, the Chargers had nothing to prove. I think even the Bolt Beat team acknowledged that the tank is on. Not alot separating us from a Top 5 pick. This was the exclamation point that sealed Brandon Staley's fate. Remember 45-0 a few years ago? Anthony Lynn never lost again after that game, but still got fired at the end of the season. Staley won't be Head Coach beyond Black Monday, but we're hoping he drops our last 3 games so we get a top 5 pick. We close out against Buffalo, Denver, and KC so losing won't be hard
Great call on your part. And the Schottenheimer firing really does feel like a seminal moment in team history. Every coach's track record since him looks almost exactly the same. Staley's main difference, of course, is the approach, and boy does he look like an idiot when it fails.
