This was their induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Where they brought all former bandmates on stage
They were inducted same year as Rush I believe…
2013❤
The Band was inducted not just Ann and Nancy. Thank You.
@@FurandFeathers71 Couldn't fit all 43 of them on stage though...
Terrific show. Curious about the costumes, but what a great song.
No one rocks out better on acoustic guitar like Nancy Wilson
❤
Dave matthews, tim Reynolds, Carlos Santana...
63 years old when this was recorded. She just did a compilation with DISTURBED at 73 and still sounds amazing. Find this one Disturbed featuring Ann Wilson. "Don't Tell Me"
Their secret weapon is the harmony vocals. They sing so well together. Dog And Butterfly is a perfect example. Just the two of them, singing, and playing acoustic guitars.
one of my favorite songs
That whole Butterfly side of the album makes me mist up. "Mistral Wind" and "Nada One" are so heartfelt and full of emotion, it's infectious!
@@mikeduke7759Dog & Butterfly is my very favorite from Heart. I love and appreciate the rock and the sheer talent is simply astounding !
My fav and Nancy's fav of big sis Ann's. ❤❤
Check out Heart doing Stairway to heaven in the Kennedy centre . Outstanding
THIS!
Please!!!🖖🏻🇨🇦
When I was a little girl, back in the late 60s and early 70s and totally addicted to my first radio, there weren't that many women who really rocked out - Janis, Grace Slick, maybe one or two others? I don't remember. I was never into the pop or ballad singers; when I would stand in front of the mirror and sing into my hairbrush, I didn't want to be Cher or Karen Carpenter or Bette Midler - I wanted to be Mick Jagger. Then Heart exploded my world (to be followed by Patti Smith and Joan Jett and many more) and suddenly I had something I could *scream*, something that I could really feel. That's what Heart meant to some of us "old people."
I wish that for your girls.
Heart to Beyoncé et al “Let me show you how it’s done” 😂😂❤❤❤
Hold my beer
Women like ann and Nancy are some of the Women who paved the way for women in music
Hey Sebs, this is a shortened version of Nancy’s intro. For your own enjoyment, you should check out the original live video. I saw one discussion that Nancy’s intro is a top 10 iconic and one of the most difficult to play.
Rick Beato had his top acoustic intro list (where he played the intros himself) and said there was no way he would play it, so he played an audio file.
Nancy actually has an instructional type video on youtube where she shows how she plays that intro.
Great reaction and thank you for coming back to "Heart"! When you get a chance, you might want to find the 1977 live version of this song with the long guitar intro and watch Nancy's full guitar solo/intro...the one here was good, but in the 1977 performance she absolutely shreds the acoustic during the intro... you'll love it!
I recently was with my 28 year old daughter, i had my phone connected to the car, when "heart" came on. I told my daughter, "this group was one of your favorites when you were young. " She answered, "dad that was the only girl rock group you would hear. " Lol. 😊 😅😅😅
Bless your heart (and I don't mean that badly LOL), I love watching you young folks react to our great music. I'm blessed to have been born in the 50's, grew up in the 60's and 70's! What a blessed life I've had! Seventy one and still kicking!
I was born in the 60s and enjoyed all the music of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Ann and Nancy Wilson write poetry then set it to music. Many artists of these decades did the same thing - they were poets first.
There is nothing better than ANY song by Heart!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
OMG now you need to check out Ann and Nancy's tribute to Led Zepplin at the Kennedy Center singing their iconic "Stairway to Heaven" it tops awesome. The members of Led Zepplin gave her a standing ovation. Love how excited you're becoming over discovering so many of the groups that have influenced American music over the decades.
No male singer could do that song that well
Ann and Nancy are the real deal and were very underrated. Now they are starting to get well deserved credit.
LOL!!!! Who "underrated" them?
@@BobSoltis1 Back in the day they weren't exactly at the front of the minds of rock fans for the most part.
@@beachbumsailordude Seriously? "Back in the day" as you put it - they had big hits and were on the radio in North America all the time. They also played at the biggest festivals. They were not the #1 band in the world - but then again - only one band at a time can be.
You should listen to their song, Alone.....it is unbelievable! Another favorite is Magic Man and Dog and Butterfly...very different but both moving.
LOVE Magic Man. 🥰
This whole concert was FIRE! Ann and Nancy Wilson are still the Best.
70s Heart rocks hard and on point. "Crazy On You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," "Straight On."
This is off their first album "Dreamboat Annie" from 1976. The opening Nancy plays is never the same, she'll add to it or play the short version from the album cut. I saw them in '77, great show.
The album was released in 1974. I was a senior in high school & an older guy I dated first introduced me to it. Had the tape in his car. I was immediately a super fan.
@MsWarriordiva we were both off. It was released in September of '75. I was also a senior in high school.
I saw them on August 16th, 1977, with Rick Derringer, the day Elvis died, and they did Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" to close the show in honor of the King.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned this but there is an older video maybe from the 70s or 80s where Nancy does this amazing intro, it seems they maybe shortened it for this performance. Definitely check out the other video, it is live as well at a concert.
Check out Heart's Kennedy Center Honors tribute performance to Led Zeppelin. Amazing.
Nice Performance by Heart loved that they brought back HOWARD LEESE,ROGER FISHER,STEVE FOSSEN AND MICHAEL DEROSIER THAT WAS COOL
Fantastic reaction. Thank you so much. Heart is one of the most amazing bands out there.
They have more musicality between them than we have had in the last 15 years. True artists that payed the dues. Effortlessly singing amazing.
Heart was my first concert in Portland or 1976. I was 12 yrs old. The art made me a total fan of Rock and Roll! Especially ladies in rock! I have seen them several time live and they are incredible! Great pick Sebs! Fun reaction! Thanks!❤
I got to hear them live in 1979. What a great show! I agree with your comment that these artists made it on talent not on how much skin they're willing to show.
I watch her in concert a few years ago when she 70 yos. Still belting sounded absolutely amazing!!
As a voice pathologist once told me, the vocal cords atrophy with age like any other muscle. That Ann has kept her vocal health into her 70s is really admirable.
Ann & Nancy Wilson and their band is AWESOME! Saw them in CT a few years ago (waited 45 years to see them live!) with Sheryl Crow (she was the backup band). Heart rules the stage and sounded like they were still in the 70’s! They closed with Baracuda which brought the house down!
Kennedy Center Honurs of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven is Iconic!
Heart was one of my favorite groups since my teen years.
I saw Heart many years ago w/ John Cougar Mellencamp as the opening act - they blew the roof of the arena!
So iconic and it is amazing how her voice has held up over time.
I was born in 81 & I was brought up listening to so many different types of music thanks to my dad. Heart, Aerosmith, Lita Ford, Joan Jett, Prince, Michael Jackson, and the list could go on forever. I have 3 daughters. Age 20, 18 (in 3 weeks), and an 11 year old. My middle daughter loves a lot of the "older" music such as Journey, Queen, Eddie Money, and a lot of the big hair rock bands.
Saw them play this live when they headlined an all day concert in an outdoor stadium in Vancouver BC in 1978 . They rocked the place & spent a lot of time hanging between Vancouver & Seattle in their beginning years . Her sister was bouncing all over the stage & she was belting the tunes .
Queens of Rock, Straight on has always been my favorite Heart song. The Bass line is killer.
That was their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. That song is a lot harder in a regular concert, I'm guessing they had to adjust the sound to it's "indoor voice" for the HOF venue. It's insane how good she still sounds on vocals, and the whole band. There are some live performances of Heart from the late 70s and 80s that almost defy logic; she doesn't quite have that range anymore but her voice is much more soulful now. Just the GOAT of female rock singers, there's not another one like her. She sings a duet with DIsturbed on their current single and her voice meshes well with Draiman's. I hope I'm half as good at ANYTHING when I'm her age as she is at singing.
I've seen these ladies in concert. They are the real deal! Ann, after all these years,is still a beast on vocals, and Nancy is phenomenal on guitar. They have been my musical heroes since the first time I heard them in the '70's when I was a teenager, and now that I'm in my '60's, they still are!
The first time I saw them was in 1975 in Rapid City, S.D., they were great. The current band isn't the same lineup I saw. In fact the Wilson sisters ARE Heart. Both of them put out solo albums of excellent quality fairly recently.
It's so great to see them actually playing instruments! It seems like so many singers today just use recorded music.
I saw them in concert in 1978, what a show!
One of my favorite groups since the 70s! Was fortunate enough to have seen them live in 2006 at a little venue in northern California. They KILLED IT!
They are freakin badass!!! And today in her 70s still sounds so awesome !! They are good in concert too!!!
One of the power groups in the late 70's, they were fire.
This was my music of my ERA! The 70’s!
Roger Fischer was having a blast, great to see and hear him with Heart again
Ann Wilson is an awesome rock singer and Nancy as well, great sister harmonies too!!!
My mom called me a couple weeks ago and asked what I am doing September 20th. I was like I have no clue with how far away it is. Tells me to take the day off cause shes flying me out to see Heart/Cheap Trick. You have lots to discover my friend.
Is that in Salt Lake? I will be there ❤️💯🔥
These Ladies are fabulous
Nearly 50 years after they first raised the hair on my neck, they've done it again. 😃🎤🎸🎶
Nancy Wilson was also the musical consultant, and main writer for the movie, Almost Famous
They're always amazing live. I saw them in 1978, too. So good.
Thank you for appreciating what made us love music, back in the day. I played the vinyl of this album down to hiss, and have played the disc a thousand times. Top 10 album of all time.
I’ve seen HEART in concert a few times!! One of the best I’ve ever seen!!!
The best from 1970’s and they are still amazing!
Actually got to see them in concert once. Great show!
Heart always finished their concerts with Led Zeppelin's Rock-n-Roll! Awesome tribute and Rock'n finale to end their shows.
Several different Zeppelin songs.
😃😃😃 Saw them in concert in the 70's. Their music NEVER gets old.♥️
All those guitars and that one BIG voice of Annie Wilson. Wonderful!
And, Ann Wilson was 63, here!!!!
Heart (both Ann & Nancy Wilson's vocals), Queen (Freddie Mercury's vocals), and K.D. Lang's vocals are the only bands/singers I've seen/heard that were BETTER live than on their studio recordings! (There might be others I'm not thinking of; these are just my personal favorites.)
...This was just the following year after Heart did that amazing performance of Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven - where so many people in the band/choir all were wearing bowler hats in honor of Led Zeppelin's late drummer - so seeing this made me assume that Ann is wearing the bowler hat here in honor/remembrance of him, as well?
Listening to Heart makes me feel like I’m 20 again. They ROCK!
Who in today’s music can rival Nancy’s guitar and Ann’s vocals?
My request: Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. 🤟
❤ are amazing! Saw them 4 times. Ann's vocals and Nancy's guitar riffs are out of this world. @Seb ... My all time favorite song is Mistral Wind... Definitely recommend it! You will absolutely love it!
You're jammin today dude!! Heart and Billy Joel both?! And this song is Heart's freaking best imo. That intro!!!! Lhm that woman's skill. Then that lead.. that riff there!! The original studio version of the song is high energy perfection!
Heart is amazing! After hearing them rock like this, it is hard to believe that they can sing soft ballads, too. Dreamboat Annie and Dog & Butterfly are two of their best quiet (voice rester) songs.
This sounds very much like the live version they did 40 years ago when they were young. I have a deep like for these older artists that can still rock out. Check out BTO live at the ROsewood ball room sometime.
I've seen them twice in Concert and they are amazing!!
GREAT reaction! Thank you!
So happy you liked HEART, they are awesome great show!! Peace and Love to you Ali and the girls ♥️✌️
Great reaction! I have seen this band 3-4 times and every time they have been just incredible!! Best female vocal rock voice ever! And one of the best rock guitarists - ever in Ann. Just great!
I truly believe that it's SO important that younger people like you, keep this music alive. Awesome reaction. Have you done their tribute to Led Zep?
I remember listening to this CD, along with Bonnie Raitt and Stevie Nicks, while driving through Denver's highways, singing at the top of my lungs. I enjoyed it while I was doing it, but when I look back now, how lucky were we to have so many outstanding bands in the 80's?
And the 70's........ I am guilty of singing along with many of their songs. I had most of their cassettes as soon as they were released. But, I was in the Washington mountains. The 60's, 70's, and 80's was a great time for music that is for sure. I feel lucky to had been able to experience music then as it was changing.
Love Heart and absolutely Crazy On You is my favorite!
Have never see Heart live before in person, but I will be seeing them soon in Chicago! Very excited.
Can't beat Ann Wilson's voice!!! Heart forever!
I saw Heart live outdoors in about 1986 or so. Great concert. My girlfriend sat on my shoulders for part of the concert so she could see over the crowd.
This is almost 40 years later...this song and group is legendary
Dam !! That is fantastic!! 💕💕💕💕 I love these women ! So exciting.
Awesome, great song. ENJOY when you have 2 teen daughters. When the time comes " Crazy on you" turns into just " Crazy, I'm out numbered".
After a long time when the sisters weren't performing together, they are going on tour again this summer.
Why do we love Heart? This! Great reaction!
I saw them at Madison Square Garden in NYC late 70's and great concert.
These guys have been singing live without any "extra" help since 1973. Yeah, they can make a performance live sound fricken great!
❤❤❤Watching you go "CRAZY " with emotion is AMAZING!!! AND CRAZY!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ KEEP on keeping this music of the 60's, 70's, and 80's ALIVE!!!! GREAT Great reaction!!!🎉🎉🎉
I was 8 years old when this came out and heard it on the jukebox at our local burger place and. Still remember that moment clearly
I love your passion for great music! This group is amazing.
🧟♀️🧟♀️🧟♀️🔥 .... yes Sebs .. I am so happy that you found this one. I have loved this song for years and years and years. These sisters are legends .. powerhouse musicians.. and as you stated, should be heroes to young women. They know hoe to be sexy and strong .... even here at an older age. They are 2 of my favorite Rockers of all time .. not to mention this banging fire band. Love this .. live this .. show it to your girls when they are learning about music. 🧟♀️🧟♀️🧟♀️🔥
Much respect to you for the shout out to your wife. "We're a team" is the foundation of a great relationship. Speaking from 41 years of experience. Loved the reaction!
Saw them live back in 1983 on the Passionworks tour with Kansas. Opened this song the same way only Nancy was sitting on a bar stool just ripping on that accoustic and, like here, just rolled right into the opening riff. These guys are legend and Ann's voice is one of the best ever!
Hooks, class, passion = art ! Just TRY not pumping your fist in the air to such an anthem.
Takes me back to my youth
How do you go by sending him a music video request?
Love this, been waiting for the golden age of music to become again!! ❤
I saw them live just before Covid. They were awesome.
Nancy Wilson is a BEAST on the guitar
Ann Wilson's voice hasn't lost a step since they began in the early 70's. She has the most amazing female rock voice there ever was and that's saying something because there were some amazing female singers over the years.
Check out an older live version from the 70s. Incredible!
Like many young girls they watched the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show 1963-64. But unlike the girls that wanted to go out with the Beatles, the Wilson sisters dreamt of being the Beatles. Not a bad try girls.
Some of my favorite stuff from them is from a show in 2002 in Seattle. The acoustic version of Alone is one of the best I've ever heard from them. Ann rocking the vocals.
I think your first um introduction to heart was in the Layne Staley ring those bells. Heart is also a Seattle band, just a decade. before grunge.
Next, you have to do These Dreams, where Nancy is on lead vocals. Not quite as soaring as Ann, still stellar. Hell, any other band would kill to have Nancy as the lead vocalist, it is only that Ann is legendary and IMHO, the greatest female vocalist in rock history, that she is backup singer.
My man...I just came across a newer all-female band called Plush. They opened for Disturbed the other night and they won me and the entire crowd over, and I think you will love them! Check out their cover of Barracuda they just released, so you can catch the hype on the vocalist - since she sounds identical to Ann Wilson of Heart! I also recommend you check out their releases Hurt as well as Left Behind!!!
Ann was in her 60’s here. She sounds amazing, but you should also check out Heart songs sung in their heyday.
Sebs,I hope you have heard them honor Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center awards as they brought down the house with Stairway to Heaven!
Heart was one of many favorite bands as a teenager.
*my very favorite
Ann's voice has gotten darker and it's harder to hit those hard notes. But her passion and spirit hasn't aged a day.
