      I'd say the RG Sinanju is for people willing to take the time to do custom work/fixes on their kits. There are some videos that show how cementing some of the joints in the waist can greatly stabilize the kit and I feel attaching just some little bits of plastic to where the shoulder armor attaches to the arms can help keep them from popping off

However, I do find that some the joints are uncomfortably tight to the point I fear breaking them. Been over a year owning an RG Sinanju, I can agree that it simply cannot stand on its own with the thrusters making it topple over, you have to tilt the model forward up to 4cm to counter the weight of the thrusters or use an action base. Joints are stiff and hold a pose, but the arm mount for the shield is terribly designed and falls off with the slightest breeze. Other than that, he mentioned that a part on the legs falls off easily. I can confirm that the kneecap armor pieces really do fall off so I recommend cementing that down. Other than that. It really is a beautiful model with “regal” qualities. The nubs on the gold frame is well hidden but my only complaint is that the seam line between parts on the bicep is hideous so detailing that part is a must.

    I didn’t think the RG Strike was that bad....Granted I got the Perfect Strike at a good price and I think there’s a couple different pieces that help with stability on the Perfect Strike. A way to fix loose joints is by using thin layers of super glue, clear nail polish or clear paint in the joints, sockets and pegs. Make sure to let it dry first after applying before putting it back on. Small pieces of tissue can be put in the sockets if you don't want to use liquid substances as you can reverse it.

    The freedom was on my display until last year and it stands pretty well on its own with my experience. That's until you add the wings. The wings made it back heavy and it would topple easily. On top of that, some parts on the wings are so loose that it was almost impossible the pose them. Anyway, all I remember is that something broke, I got mad at it and placed it in storage indefinitely.

    Love how the first and low rated Gunpla was the RX 78 but that was also my first gunpla model I ever built. Fair criticism though, if you aren't planning on the standing pose on the box like I did, you're gonna have a bad time as the hands do kinda suck at holding the gun at most angles. Also the hip frame is so flimsy it snapped when I first built it. Needed to glue it back so that it could be assembled.

    I reccomend the RG Zgok, it's a relatively simple build so it shouldn't have any problems with loose small parts or the sorts. I've had mine for a couple of years now and I can shake it as hard as I could and nothing will fall off. It's also a unique design so it's a fun building process if you want something new.
    Really the only cons I can give to it is that the articulation can be somewhat limited but that's due to the mobile suit design itself and not the engineering of the kit.

    I feel the ones that use the peg for the legs and arms like the Aile strike, it's very easy to tighten those joints. Elbows, not so much because that's already assembled but when it comes to arm stability and leg stability, it'll be fine, just add some super glue, let it dry than put it back together. However if a knee joint is loose or a elbow joint is loose well than sadly the only thing you can do is take off the armor and top coat the entire inner frame a few times and hope for the best otherwise it's might just stay loose as shit forever
    Also to add I fixed the looseness on the RG MK-II by adding just a tiny tiny bit of super glue and it actually is almost hard for it to seperate now and also isn't loose either so I recommend anyone that gets the MK II. Do add a tiny bit of super glue in the torso section, you'll see where once you build it. And than let the glue dry, assemble and you're good to go !!

    You should preface the idea that you’re ranking system is based on building OBO/snapfit. If you would consider yourself a competent modeler with experience building “model kits” (at the very least a remedial level...) you should have no problem dealing with any limitations said kit has to offer. Otherwise buy an action figure. Model kits are open to interpretation and limiting factors whether paint, articulation, decals etc and writing off those ideas because it doesn’t work for you is pretty dismissive and only narrows your ability as a “modeler”. When you’re speaking in blanket statements about what a “model kit” can do and can’t do and coming to a conclusion as a self respecting modeler to write anything off as “garbage” says something about you as a modeler. All kits aren’t created equal and Bandai is constantly innovating to actually make it easier for people to complain about frivolous details. Maybe pre built action figures might be more your lane. I’m not doubting your ability as a modeler but any self respecting person who looks to progress as a modeler should definitely take this video with a grain of salt.

    • @DLanimator
      @DLanimator Před 4 lety +2

      Considering how much he mentions about play with them, maybe action figures or something that can take a beating would be better. Throwing around a model kit is not something you do, even in frustration. Most of these loose joints and pieces falling apart can be fixed or wouldn't be a problem with some care. Both my Mk2 are still solid as a rock, no loose torso on either. I know Zeta's reputation for being a hand grenade, but I've not had any problems posing or broken pieces, but then again, I handle my kits with care. You get the kits you like the design of, not how much you can play with them...that's not really what model kits are for...

    • @danielak1666
      @danielak1666 Před 4 lety

      I think he make this list less for "a self respecting modeller that keep improving" and more for a beginner or someone that can't really afford expensive painting equipment or so many time just to "fix" a loose joint or parts that keep popping off. Not everyone start this hobby planned to enter some competition anyway, so something that looks good out of the box is a fine limit.
      *btw possing is still count as "playing around" and not everyone want their gunpla just being put on the shelf with standing pose without any weapon equiped anyway

    • @Mikey415abrea
      @Mikey415abrea Před 4 lety

      Daniel AK what? You seemed confused and ill informed as to what I typed. If you can afford to build a model kit**(specifically an RG), then you can definitely buy the necessary means of equipment to “fix” said problem. There also must be some sort of language barrier because being “competent” and “competition” are two completely different words. Also posing and playing around are completely different through sheer definition and interpretation. The idea “I think he make this list for.... “a self respecting modeller that keep improving” has nothing to do with the direct points I have made. You fail to understand why I suggested he should probably buy action figures**** instead of ***MODEL KITS*** you clearly don’t understand what I’m saying or there is most definitely a language barrier.

    • @DLanimator
      @DLanimator Před 4 lety

      @@danielak1666 If your base line is looking good out of the box, most RGs would be an easy buy then. For the majority they are the best looking of the 1/144 scale kits in terms of details, color accuracy and price. Even if you do want to touch it up, paints and a brush don't cost that much unless you're going to go all out and buy an airbrush. Tools for fixing most loose joints can range from nail polish to super glue, common items you may already have and not at all expensive. If you're going to spend several hours to build up a kit, you might as well put in a few more minutes to make it better.
      Posing is half the fun of a model kit and I don't know of any self respected modeler that haven't posed their kits at least once after they built it. There is a difference to posing your kits with care and rough handling it that things pop off and joints become too lose after play though. If your definition of play requires you to pick it up and move parts around every few minutes, then I stand by that you're better off buying an action figure that can handle that much play. It'll be cheaper too.

      @danielak1666 Před 4 lety

      @@DLanimator sorry, I think I put too many sarcasm in my last comment and make my point stray.
      imo, this video is aimed for beginner in mind and most beginner wants from rg is a good looking kit oob that could be posed. That's why the main comments kinda tick me off since it's kinda said "modeller shouldn't focus at oob and should focus on fixing the unit to be as good as you want". Because, that kind of modeller didn't even need to watch this kind of list that being made for beginner
      For me "playing around" model kit is always revolves around posing and never about moving a every part every a few minutes. And like you said, that's half the fun of modelling so I think playability is kinda legit reasoning

    I got RG aile strike in like 2012ish, I've had it on action base pretty much since I made it in the pose like from the anime title in the OP and I havent had any issues at all arms sagging from the rifle or shield

    The RG line is my favorite line. Most of my RG are the earlier ones, in fact I don’t have a single one that you have to build the innerframe.
