I was at that game. my first live NBA game. The funniest part wasn't televised. Moses Malone reached over a ref and slapped the dog s**t out of smack talking ML Carr. ML felt the force of the slap and ran straight in the opposite direction to the locker room. I was like wow. He did all that barking and ran? lol

Larry Bird typically only took like only three shots from long distance per game back in 1987. Versus now you have many players take around half of their shots from long distance.

Probably chose the chairs to sit on equal level with Charles, because Charles still have heavy knee problems-- when you got knee problems it’s easier and more comfortable to still in the chairs their using, than a comfy couch; also easier to get up out of the sitting position.

Try shooting nowadays with a defender's hand on your face every second you touch a ball and see how good are you. When they change the rules to where you are given a bus pass to travel from the free throw to the hoop, you're gonna look more skilled than you really are. When they change the rules so big men can't stay in the paint as much, you're going to seem more skilled than you are.

5:11 I experienced my 1st run in with racism when is was about 6 years old. Some other kids and I went to the movies and just sat up front. All of a sudden I hear a guy behind me clearing his throat. Suddenly, I felt something wet in my hair. I felt around my head and looked back, and there were 3 white guys sitting there, just smiling. After that I told my friends what happened and we left. Those guys were in their late 20's and I was just 6. I'll never forget that. *But glad I didn't use it as an excuse, just to behave in the way they did, toward others*. This took place in Oklahoma.

I watched that game and to me it looked like Bird was probably taunting Julius to motivate him to play harder because Julius was not being his usual competitive hard playing self that night...it's not that Bird wasn't feeling it because he was hot but most of the points (and Larry didn't score all his points on Doc) he scored on Doc looked like J gave up on the plays which is way uncharacteristic of him...proof is that that never happened before that game or after... Bird knew Julius was better than that and wasn't accepting that weak lack of competitiveness from him...BTW to the commenters, Dr J didn't need anybody to hold Bird back, Bird would've gotten dropped and it would've been a sad day in sports history, period.
