They are so popular because that's what the manufacturers are pushing. They are easy EV platforms to make and with there high centre of gravity harder on bushings and suspension components. Heavier also so they are harder on brakes and suspension again. Oh they also use more fuel and handle worse..... A family of 5 will comfortably fit in a skoda octavia. SUV's make me sad 😢
