There's people that think this is just supposed to be a fun song, but they're dead wrong. It's a song about a beautifully broken city that holds peoples' hearts in it's hands. This is a very personal song for me, because I've never been somewhere I love more than Chicago. I was born and raised here and I'm staying here if i get my way.
*”But, I’m a white kid from punk rock. So, I am clearly more related to My Chemical Romance.”* I screamed when Patrick said that, My Chem is one of my favourite bands!!! Plus, Soul Punk Patrick was gorgeous and adorable, the acoustic version of This City is amazing!! Love ya Patrick!! 💜💜💜
One of the many reasons i love Patrick (and FOB in general) is because they sound the exact same live, they don't change the instruments sounds in the songs recorded, the singing is the same; amazing. They're not fake at all, unlike a lot of artists today
You can take my picture, you can take my name, But you're never gonna take my city away... I just love that part of lyrics and i love how he sings them in this!
Over a minute in Brendon Urie pops up with an ad interrupting Patrick Stump... what? Not everything is about you Brendon. I love soul punk and I don't care what anyone says. These songs mean something. It was super impressive how he went about creating this music and he was proud of it and then people were jerks to him. He deserves better.
Me: "Mom I now understand what sex is like!" Mom: "WHAT?! YOU'RE TOO YOUNG TO KNOW ABOUT THAT KINDA STUFF!" Me "But... But you're the one that bought me Soul Punk..."
@ScrewUsername121 Oh Thank YOU! I seriously thought i was the only one. Jus bcuz u collab with a hot artist doesnt mean the song is improved. sometimes a guitar and vocal is all you need to make me listen. of course Lupe's version gets a couple million hits while this one is barely noticed. typical... im into u Stump. saw ya on music choice and i like what i hear :) keep it up
i first heard this song on music choice on the virsion with lupe but then i decided i was gonna do this song for this singing compettion called voices in the valley so i looked for the version without lupe and i LOOOOVE this one sooooooooooo much bettah! i love you patrick stump ;)
"I think art being defined is the death of art"
