His actual name is "Lakatos Róbert", yes, the other way around, as he is from Hungarian origin. His nickname would be "Robi" for short and he made it into the English version by using "y" instead of "i" at the end. So technically he is Robi. Roby is only his foreign nickname. It's not a stage name (or I guess you could call it as that) strictly speaking, more like a friendly neighboorhood violinist, who likes being called by his nickname by everyone.
