1st place. This song was cool as fuck on RB2, but it just feels so weird on this game. Maybe that's because I played in on RB2 first, maybe it's because it's the last song in the game, or maybe RB2 is just a superior game, or maybe the chart just sucks. Or maybe all of those things... Also wtf is up with half the drum intro not being included? It's pretty jarring tbh
Anyway this is 1st place, but I'm still missing 200 points. The 1st squeeze isn't too bad on this engine, but it's still quite missable. The 2nd activation is annoying because you need star power to run out before whammying the RB sustain for the next activation, and you need as much as you can get from that sustain. The 3rd activation back end can be tricky because the BPM ramps up drastically from about 200 to about 320, so SP runs out much faster on the back end. The 4th act isn't too bad, but I missed it a couple times while going for this score. The 5th act, however, I did not miss much at all, so I was really disappointed when I missed it here. 6th activation is a bit awkward on the back end because of the odd number of strums there. The last activation can be tricky because of those sliders, but I didn't have too many issues with it. Overall this is kind of a tricky song to squeeze and FC in the same run, and while I'm bummed I still missed a squeeze in this run, I'm happy I was able to get 1st place.

It always bugged me they cut the out half the drum intro. And really, I think having this song in this game doesn't do it justice. They should have saved it for Warriors of Rock.
Yeah, this song in "Rock Band 2" was a whole lot better because they kept and charted everything. Also, I agree that this game was a poor fit for this song. It could've fit better in the "Fjord Of Swords" arena in "Guitar Hero 5" as well.

This song don't fit GH: Van Halen that much, it would have been perfect for an encore song in GH: Warriors of Rock.
It also could've maybe fit in the "Fjord Of Swords" arena in GH5.
@@christopherregan1654 The Demigod of Rock's set in GHWOR.
why did they waste this song on this game!?
I mean warriors of rock was right around the corner
you can thank Wolfgang Van Halen for the guest acts
Facts it would've fit Warriors of Rock so much more. That game has a pretty heavy playlist compared to other guitar games and I Freaking love it lol
This song is sooooo good. I loved it in RB2. Can't imagine not having it in RB3/4.
Cuz you don’t have the export?
@@they2kguy822 I do. That's why I said that.
@@MrMechasexual i don't dude, believe me, its frustating af not having painkiller in rb4

Took me a while to FC this on Drums.
Awesome song, and EASILY the hardest song in the game that isn't by Van Halen. I prefer RB2's chart overall, but still.
Oh hey, it's ANOTHER Rock Band 2 song! And dare I say, I think the bass track is easier here than in Rock Band 2. Maybe it's because of the open notes, IDK.
here we go bois, best tier in the game right here.
Yeah, it has Judas Priest, Killswitch Engage, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Tenacious D!
Yeah I don't like how they got rid of the drum intro. I always thought it was such a badass way to start the song, but without it it's really not the same...
Something I noticed about this song recently: it's (very close to) the same tempo as One. So the chorus and the second part of One would probably mix well.
Oh yeah, i was waiting for this song already. Great song but my god, the chart sucks. I mean, what the hell is the part at 2:52? The only things this version has that are superior to the RB2 one are the 2x bass pedal on drums at expert+ (the song doesn't include half the drums intro tho anyways) and also the crowd sing along addition. The RB2 chart clearly is better.

...Yeah, this was an absolutely epic finale song in Rock Band 2, but here? Ehhh... I'm just not feeling it. It's just seems so out of place in this game, and the charting feels way off, especially during the first solo and at 4:29.
I feel like they were trying to make the chart different than rock bands 2 that they forgot to chart some parts right and also I think they purposely made it easier just because they didn’t want a Judas Priest song to be harder than the Van Halen songs on guitar hero van halen
@@canontheory Nah if that were the case Eruption wouldn't be on the setlist
This guy got 1st place on this song.

THE PAINKILLER!
0:15, just noticed they recycled the same guitarist movement that was in Pull Me Under
1:38 - Why are there sustains on the chords?
2:17 - Undercharted.
2:26 - Surely that should be a sweep and not alt-strumming.
2:31 - That part is like 5 notes and yet they charted it as a sustain??
2:52 - No, just... no! Did they even listen to the song?!
3:13 - Why the boring sustains?
3:23 - What the fuck is that tap note shit?!
4:28 - They made that part boring.
TR1PLE_6 I think some of the things you’re hearing as multiple notes (which they technically are) is the original guitarist hitting a note and using the whammy bar to move the pitch around, even though the original guitarist only picked one note. So I guess GH chose to chart it as a sustain for that reason.
I don’t have a problem with the chords being sustained but you’re pretty much right about everything else. I genuinely find myself wondering if the Guitar Hero: World Tour-era devs/charters have ever touched guitars in their lives.
@@theabsolute23 yes i agree, i think the dev before GH5 never really touched guitar before.
@@theabsolute23 Pretty sure devs on the Neversoft team didn't change that much. Also, this game and SH were the only post HMX GH games that weren't charted by Neversoft.
2:31 That IS a sustain. Glenn Tipton is just using the whammy bar.
i feel sorry for the animated drummer 😂 he didnt sign up for this
also, master exploder soon!! :eyes:
yep :)
Too bad for the half-cutted drum intro, but still, Banger.
Felt like this would have been more on the vibes on Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock
This song from Rock Band 2 that he just played
Big squeezes in this song
Vocals: Ryder
Guitar: Lars
Bass: Rhonda
Drums: Viktor
Neversoft: "No we're not upset Rock Band 2 did so well, why do you ask?"
Me: ☝️
@Kasi Kai are you sure 'bout that?
this is the song that i play when i ask someone in the car what they want to listen to and they give the answer "oh i listen to EVERYTHING". Uh huh, sure, and when this song just doesnt stop and they finally ask "WHEN IS THIS OVER" i tell them "i thought you listened to EVERYTHING???"
They should say at the end "Why is this already over" XD
I'm willing to bet that like some of GH1 charts, at some point in development this chart was nerfed. If we get a beta copy I could expect a more accurate chart. Or at least that's my headcanon on why this is SO undercharted
The solo is honestly charted like a Frets On Fire custom song from 2007. Baffling choices. The rhythm parts are better here than on RB2 because of forced strums.
Rest in peace
FASSSTERRRRR THAN A LAZERRRR BULLLEEEEETTTTTTT
I like this song, and i lika that i can play this song in expert why i have something experience in expert, but in songs like raining blood, eruption, play with me and others more hard from the games no, only in hard and in TTFAT i can pass only 93/94% in Hard
They should’ve had breaking the law, and saved this song for GHWOR, replacing that paranoid cover
Or "Living After Midnight." "Screaming For Vengeance" would also be cool in GHWOR.
@@BenAck912 yep, that would've been cool tbh.
i'm pretty sure "paranoid" on warriors of rock was a live performance at the 2009 rock and roll hall of fame
Shit, they skipped the drum solo!
Never mind, PAINKILLER!!!
If there’s anything I’ve learned from this song on here and rock band 2 is endurance
yep rb2 is the superior chart. This also has parts of 440+ bpm lmao
Ok, this is cursed

Well i am Second
so how does this chart compare to rb2?
RB2 is better in every way.
This chart is bad but its playable, the first time i play this song was on edited GH 2 and looking to this chart and the custom chart of GH2 holy fuck this is bad.... Good Job anyway.

Siento que está Canción hubiera quedado mejor en GH Warriors Of Rock
RB2 chart is much more fun than this tbh. And i don't care what anyone says, Halls of Valhalla is harder than both charts of this.
Are you really telling me this song is in Guitar Hero Van Halen and The Boys Are Back in Town is in Guitar Hero Metallica? That is SO backwards.
I feel like with these types of Guitar Hero Games, they just kinda gave up on fully charting them...
Half the charts sucked ass in this game.
Neversoft was the developer that made the main entries in the franchise starting with "GH3 Legends Of Rock." However, this Van Halen spinoff was made by a separate developer called Underground Development. I also agree that Harmonix's chart of this song in "Rock Band 2" was a lot better.
If I play this song, my parents are getting mad of the "metal"ness😂
Jajaja my parents and uncles like this song

So, you aren't approved of Latin people laughing in their own native language? Latin people pronounces j as h, so 'jajaja' is 'hahaha' in Latin... Or maybe you wanted to annoy somebody off, don't you?

This is such a weird chart, so many notes that should be sustains but aren't
dissapointed, didnt include the drum intro
discount rock band
Why does the singer look like he's from Jimmy Neutron
This has a strong case for being the worst GH chart ever made, even counting some of the really bad early day GH1 charts. Wtf happened here? The fast alt strums should be fast sweeps, literally guitar playing in the background while playing the bass hits, those dumb sliders with no sustains that pepper this whole game, it's all a mess. Kinda like this game in general, which was clearly rushed to throw next to GH5. Activision really ruined this franchise. End rant.
i'd say "Laid to Rest" in Smash Hits is just as terrible as this chart.
@@xboxgod7725 well, i can tolerate that one at least. This one is just no, please no. Also, i think imo that Barracuda would have the worst chart from that game tbh.
