- Put a quick video together to compare the noise of my Audi B8.5 S5 3.0Tfsi before as standard and after the x pipe res delete. No drone and doesn't sound overly raspy which was my worry.
Custom X Pipe by the guys at Top Gear Performance in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Great video, covers everything you’d want to know before getting an X Pipe install. I would of liked a cold start though? Those are the real test to see how obnoxious your exhaust note is 😂 Also I noticed it wasn’t really that much louder on the motorway than stock but couldn’t really tell on how bad the drone is 🤷🏼♂️

I’m looking into this set up but with the addition of magnaflow 11385 replacing the baby resonators. Apparently it gets rid of the raspy tone. Shame there are no videos of that set up on S5. Loads on S4’s though.
Was the whole thing custom made or did you use the milltek x pipe section?
Does this take place of the center resonator or the ones towards the front
How's the drone with just the x pipe?
Aren’t there like 3 resonators? Which one was deleted and replaced with the X-pipe?
So the baby resonators are still in place and the rear mufflers are still there?
There’s only smoke coming out of the right hand dual pipes during revving? Blockage?
Did this S5 have any tuning or mods prior to the res delete?

F@&@ this sounds insane mate, I’m comparing the 4.2 to the 3.0 as I’m looking on the market for one, the tuneable side of the 3.0 is more attractive but the 4.2 sound is unreal. What do you think?
The 4.2 stock is slower than the 3.0 even though the 3.0 has 20hp less. The 4.2 NA engine loses a lots of power over the time due to carbon build up and etc. The 3.0 can be modified to close to 480hp easily.

They only make them in auto unfortunately. Audi tested a lot and showed the auto transmission was quicker...

Did you get any check engine lights or anything of that sort after installing? (Thinking about doing this for myself but don’t have any way to clear engine codes)
@@george9687 ive litterally just had this work completed by Emp performance in st Albans. It hasnt brought up engine check light. Sounds amazing. No drone on the motorway. Everything has improved....im sure the other half wont agree today when she hears it haha

If you like to have a lot of low-mid RPM torq go for the h-pipe.
Got my 2019 S5 ( B9) booked in tomorrow. Not sure if to just get the front pair of small resonators off or both those and the middle box. Conscious of potential drone. No sure tbh.
Curious on what path did you take I just removed the front on my b9 thinking about replacing the center suitcase with the MagnaFlow instead of xpipe.
I replaced the front with the IE mid pipe setup by the way.

@@b.trill6868different generation the “.5” is the facelift from 2012 to like 2015/16. Then B9 generation came out etc

Yeah, you have to program that!

@@legolas5684 you don’t have to re-tune it just because of a resonator delete it’s only if you touch the cats.
@@Eurodriver801 you don't retune anything, just program sensors to think there is a cat!
@@legolas5684 if your talking about this video it’s not removing cats it’s removing resonators so no reason to make it think there is a cat there. If you do touch the cats you do need to re-tune to adjust a/f ratios or the car won’t run right if you removed the cats I have experience with this.

@@YF-23A 2014 and the s5 was awful on fuel (I obviously knew this prior to buying) but the performance just didn't seem good enough to warrant the mpg,the inside was dated.....that being said I did drive a 2018 1 the other day and liked it.
@@rosskemponcheeseburgers9590 realistically what are these like on fuel? (V6T S5) I only drive 8-9 miles a day through the week and not much more on the weekend. Currently got a stage 2 08 3.0tdi (hybrid turbo, downpipe, FMIC and a few other bits Inc methanol injection) obviously would be a drop in MPG but wanting to get a petrol
