What's surprising about this? Pakistan has always gotten better equipment before us (sometimes even in larger numbers, e.g., AWACS). We have always been reactive, never proactive. Our politicians can win elections simply by giving speeches, they don't actually have to spend money on defence. The Armed Forces can't speak up for themselves. Just the AoN (Acceptance of Necessity) can take years. Then more years to release the funding, in small batches. Next time China attacks, it'll be worse than 1962, unfortunately.

That may not matter to those whose only concern is making money, but it matters to the vast majority of Indians. Plus, defence spending, esp. in the research, development & manufacturing actually helps the economy. Even the imported defence equipment helps the economy grow by providing stability (nobody wants to invest in a country at war, except perhaps arms manufacturers). And while most Indians don't think this important, if soldiers are willing to give their life for the country, it is the country's duty to make maximum effort to give these soldiers the best chance of survival, which means defence spending.

Full focus should be on AMCA, giving a project time is necessary. We defence "lovers" over hype ourselves and look down upon every single thing we do. People created a borderline stupid hype of Tejas MK-2 first flight by 2024. Now, when a realistic timeline came out, everyone was calling for a shutdown of Tejas Mk-2 because it was not coming soon enough. The kind of situation we are in calls for careful and proper development. Buying a 5 Gen platform right now will kill AMCA! Pakistan is not going to get KAAN and J-31 tomorrow. There is still a lot of work before they can even think of acquiring it. We must focus on AMCA, Tejas MK-2, and Kaveri, as the result will be invaluable!

I've been emphasizing this for quite some time now: the MRFA competition doesn't make any sense at all. Just imagine if we declare Rafale as the winner of the MRFA competition in 2024 (which seems highly unlikely) and order 120 jets. The delivery would commence three years after placing the order and take at least six years to complete, totaling nine years. By then, China would have approximately 600 J-20 fifth-generation fighter jets. We urgently need to order a fifth-generation fighter. Otherwise, China will overpower us effortlessly. Whether it's the Su-57 or F-35, we require a fifth-generation fighter jet; otherwise, we'll face significant trouble. The major advantage of the Su-57 is the opportunity to integrate our avionics.

China is currently possessing more than 200 highly capable J20 5th generation fighters and more than 1000 Su27/30 fighters and their advanced derivatives as against 300 Su30mki and 36 Rafales of IAF.
China also has 300 bombers which can deploy potent long range stand off missiles and bombs against which there's limited to no counter. India has 0 bombers.
The far bigger threat are the extremely potent large drone fleet and rocket force which fall within the ambit of airforce.
We are not talking about intelligence gathering where again China outguns and out classes India by a very wide margin.
A full scale future war with China will be fought more in the air, water, space and cyberspace.
It will be very different from the wars in the past where the conflict was largely limited to land.

China is subsidising Pakistani defense to keep India off balance. Also ou may not believe this Pakistani airforce has made much better use of its resources and has used smart diplomacy get what it needs at an appropriate cost. Also Pakistani airforce makes realistic plans unlike Indian airforce which likes to talk a big game for its domestic audience and get the maximum budget so that top officials can line their pockets.
India has kept its borders safe by using good politics rather than relying on the military to prevent coups like in Pakistan so this is a problem that is very difficult to solve. Realistically speaking India does not face any existential threat from China or Pakistan. Those are still jst border disputes and even incase of a massive breakthrough in a war neither Pakistan nor China can occupy important territories of India (except Kashmir). So why will a civilian govt empower a military that can threaten it to defeat enemies that are a much smaller threat? The issue of Indian defense will never go away.

This route pays dividends as seen with the induction of INS Vikrant and serve as a template for the future..
The Russian 5th Gen is a non starter and U S not interested in giving us F-35 due to our acquisition of S400 systems..

Turkey has been locally manufacturing most of its parts under the licence of F16s for the past 30 years, was part of the F35 joint production program and was indigenously producing more than 2500 parts for F35 out of 9000 parts. TUSAS has been a partner with GE for almost 50 years now and has been locally producing parts of GE engines for almost 50 years. Turkey successfully produced Hurjet with only its engines are American rest is completely indigenous. Successfully produced the prototype of TFX. It has 100% capacity to produce 5th-generation fighters. It is requesting for F16 block 70 or Eurofighter to cover the gap. As Greece has procured rafaels and is about to receive F35's turkey need to defend that, as TFX needs another 10 years to get inducted, to cover those 10 years Turkey is trying to buy these jets. This is what the Turkish president and defence minister have said in recent times. Please read something before commenting.

We should focus on indigenisation, we're already too late. The longer we get experienced with creating our own things, the more expertise we'll gain in the craft. Import culture has to end.
Remember, Pakistan is not a bigger threat, it's a seed planted by the real enemy which are the developed economies and communist China. Prepare for the long term.

This was a political 'own-goal' for India. Moving away from Russia in favor of US systems in the 2010s was a major mis-step.
Yes Russian technology exports lost their largest client, and Russian weapons development was hampered, hurting Russian national power. This demonstrated importance of India as a buyer, but did not improve India geopolitically. The only winner was the US and the West.
Now that it is obvious that US and western power is rapidly falling, India is caught red faced with its pants down. India has to go back to its former most trusted ally with shame for not standing with Russia during its time of need. India needs Russian weapons to defend itself, but Russia has become a junior partner to China's global power. And India wants to defend itself against China?!? LMAO!

I think we should consider SU57 as a stop gap measure before AMCA induction. I know Su57 is not a true 5th gen fighter. But it is truly a great air superiority fighter. In my opinion reduce the number of Su30 MKI from 272 to 182 and purchase 90 or 5 squadron of Su57 which will be specially modified for Air dominance mission.
Look I'm not underestimating capability of Su30, it will still dominate Pakistani J10 and F16. But when it comes to China it is behind in capability significantly from their J20. Which is again not a true 5th gen fighter. But I think Su57 is ahead in capability from J20. So if we purchase 4-5 squadron, it will definitely dominating Chinese airspace.
Subsequently we may push Russia for 100% TOT and NOC from OEM, so that we can modify weapons, sensors, radars of Su57 where it lags in capability. It's completely my opinion 😊

I don’t think India should acquire Su57 Felons or Su75 Checkmate, it’s gonna be a bad bet. India should try to acquire 100+ F35I Adir with Israeli avionics with local production and ToT and 1 or 2 squadrons of F35B for special operations. The navy should order 2 squadrons of F35Cs for carrier based operations. We could forego most american weapons for Israeli and European weapons like Spice, Meteor, MICA and ASRAAM. We should also push for customized F35 with Indian avionics and weapons. It’s gonna be the best best as it would be a force multiplier against China as well as Pakistan. Inputs from F35 can be used in AMCA, further improving it.
India should push for the F35 deal with local production, technology transfer and MRO and also with customised Indian/French/Israeli/European avionics/weapons when Trump comes back to power and the Khalistan issue dies down.

If possible kindly creat the video on why IAF opted out of SU 57 and what features IAF wanted in that which were not available

If you consider Su-57 5th gen then you're not a serious channel. The only options out there are F-35 or AMCA.

Its is good news for india also. If pakistan air force will get 5gen aircraft it also give amca ,mrca, tmk2,orca to a quick devlopment boost.

India should heavily invest on Higher versions of Radars and counter missiles and Aircraft systems to detect these fighters and place them more on the borders ... Only God knows when we get AMCA or 5th generation...

IT would sound crazy but india should now focus on LCA tejas mk1a, tejas mk2 and HAL TEDBF
And integration of Kaveri engines with all these there platform...

I think we should considered su57 as siblings of AMCA one squadron of Su57. We invest 2billion in fighter so we if we take su57 it should better we capitalize our investment and strengthen superiority in air.

Pakistan always have superiority over iaf with quality... India always lag behind in air power with paf.. India is 2 decades late in tejas project from it's original timeline.. India is late in replacing their flying coffens old fighters ... India was late in inducting rafale which modi admitted.. India is already late in upgrading their su30mki to latest gen ... and now India is lagging behind in 5th gen fighter race with Pakistan...on the other hand Pakistan always take futuristic decisions on right Time and also delivered on time we saw that at the time of f16s then jf17s also upgrading on correct timeline then we saw that with j10c and now while India is struggling to get tejas mk2 in around 2028 which is very very late from it's original timeline Pakistan already announced it's 5th gen fighter j35 nd i assure u u will see that happening in maximum 3 years of Time.. forget amca before Iaf will get tejas mk2 paf will already get 5th gen j35... We can see clearly the difference between iaf and paf it's the quality and futuristic decisions and also implement those decisions on time due to that paf always maintain it's superiority over iaf throw quality... abhinandan ki thukai aisy hi to ni huwi thi na..
J35 will have ws19 engine with thrust vactoring and 230 kn or 52000 lb thrust power which is more than it's competitors in Market like f35 have 191 kn or 43000 lb thrust power which is less than j35...so even if India goes with f35 that will not help iaf over paf bcs j35 will be more capable than f35 and su75 ....
Even iaf shud forgot 5th gen fighter i mean first they have to get tejas mk2 which is already 2 decades late iaf will get that in after 2028 ..then iaf have to upgrade su30mki which is a toothless fighter without upgrade...then iaf have to replace olf flying coffens according to their own chief.. while iaf will get this much done paf will already operating 5th gen fighter..now u understand why paf is always superior than Iaf...if not then please ask abhinandan for further information... Note please i didn't mention about Turkish kaan which paf will get after j35 may be when iaf will get tejas mk2 paf will get second 5th gen fighter tukish kaan☕☕☕

Pakistan will not be able to maintain them. Even if they are able to purchase them. They will keep sinking deeper with their monetary issues and also maintenance related issues.
But they will do whatever China will ask them to do.
