Byli skvělí. Les uměl čistě zpívat a kluci čistě hrát i naživo. To se nedá říci o všech zpěvácích a skupinách. Někdy bývá mezi studiovou nahrávkou a live-vystoupením ostudný rozdíl. Děkuji Bay City Rollers za radost a úsměv, které mi stále přinášejí.
They played instruments and sang upbeat style pop rock. I can see why they were appealing to teenage girls. My cousin had their posters on her wall as a teen so she will be upset now. First David Cassidy and now Les. Pop idols are fading away. Of course, it’s been 45 years so I guess it’s inevitable. But it’s still a shock when you get the news. We are losing our Pop Idols and Icons one by one. RIP Les
Yeah, this was still during the “honeymoon” days, or “salad days” or whatever… of their career. In ‘75 they were on top of the world and hadn’t grown sick of each other yet. It was a very different story a couple of years later.
One of THE VERY FEW CZcams clips of the vintage Rollers playing live as opposed to lip syncing to their records. I saw them in concert in '76, '77, and '82, and I can attest to the fact that they really could play and sing live, with no tricks. Now, they weren't the best musicians in the world, but Derek was solid on the drums and Eric was more than a passable lead guitarist. More than that, they had great songs and the crowds were always into the shows. Good times.
Eric is a very underrated guitarist, It's a game is a brilliant album that really shows his ability. Saw Eric's version of the rollers at the Mathew Street festival a few years back and they were brilliant.
I saw them twice in concert and it was awesome. Derek did a drum solo at both and was great. Eric is very underrated on guitar and deserves more praise than he got. We were teenagers and my mom went with us. She still talks about how fun it was to this day, lol.
Live this seeing the Bay City Rollers still a fan of them rip Les McKeown; Alan Longmuir and Ian Mitchell now our angels 😇😇😇 for us ur music and pictures of u live on
This is so great! First time I've seen it since surfing CZcams after the very sad passing of Les. I simply adore the little 'dances' going on at the start! RIP Les 20.04.2021 😥💔

THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS CLASSIC VIDEO BEING A HUGE BAY CITY ROLLERS FAN EVERSINCE 1974 🙂👍
Had to see this video again. Eric's voice and laugh is to die for. Yeah the songs were not to clear here but Eric pulled them thru. These guys were great no matter what.
@@flower-the-earthI adore that song too. Alan had a really nice voice and I never understood why he didn't sing more leads. I've always been an Alan girl! 💞💝
Great video. After all these years to me Les was just a great voice, Alan was the handsome one but ERIC was the whole package of talent with his hot look and sexy smile and eyes.
I remember seeing this on the Finnish TV back in the day and coulnd't understand why there was a fence between the band and the audience. Yhey hadn't even hit the big time yet! Propably some of the first ever gigs they did abroad.
I was 11 in 1975. It switched almost overnight from David Cassidy to the Rollers. '75 & '76 the Rollers were HUGE! Then by '77-'78 Punk & Disco dominated. 1980 it went to New Wave, Harder Rock & British Metal.
Yes, the rug was pulled from under them with the onset of punk, disco and new wave. Overnight their poppy rock 'n roll looked very dated. They were like young fogies.
It was a great time growing up in the mid-70s and having this band to be one of my first influences thanks to my older brother. Then at around that same time came KISS and then everything changed from there! QUEEN, AC/DC, Van Halen, Priest, Iron Maiden. So many great bands to list and from different genres. Elton John, Chicago (Terry Kath era), etc.
Great video! I’ve never understood what Woody says when Eric claps. I’ve watched the interview in this many times and still have no idea what he says. Eric still makes my heart go pitter- patter. 45 years later and I still love watching these guys.
There was music? Oh! Sry, I was lookin at Eric........,actually this was GREAT! LOVE the live videos. Never saw this one b4. Thank you so much! Btw, that's my favorite interview of them. Eric is so sweet n fresh faced here. Ya got more??!!

Derek's my favorite Roller. I've commented several times here already. But yes , he never got much of the glory which is too bad because he's a very talented drummer and incredibly handsome with a wicked sense of humor and a very kind and gentle man who cared for his terminally ill father and adopted a child and brought him back to Scotland so he could have a better life away from an abusive parent. Derek payed for his school and was thrilled to become a granddad at age 42 . There's an interview with Derek here on YT where he talks about his life after the Rollers and how he became a cardiac registered nurse after volunteering at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for years. He cared for Alan after his cardiac problems too . I wish my mum could have had Derek as her nurse when she had her heart surgery. Dear God, the cardiac unit is a damn hard place to work. Derek is a good man and I won't let anyone say otherwise.
This is the first thing I’ve seen them on singing live every other time they sing they sound exactly like their records but here u can tell they sound a little out of breath but are actually not that bad live
When you look very close, you can see that they are not in the rhythem with the music. By, bye bye baby Les starts singing and the mic. is downstairs and not up at his mouth. By shang a lang they have to adjust their mics when they start to sing.

I just discovered them and I’m so happy to find one where they’re actually performing.
Omg alan is just gorgeous💘
I hadn't looked back at my BCR days in over 40 years or so. I forgot how much joy they brought. Alan was a spunk. For sure.
Derek is also incredibly handsome. Those gorgeous green eyes both brothers have!
