- The first actual night routine video of 2023 somehow... thank you for being patient with this one and I hope you enjoy :) I added this as a textual note, but just to stress as well, I'm only working part-time at the moment and not full time so this is only my routine 2-3 times a week x

😇 How old are you? 23
📝 What are you studying? I am set to start my masters in English Literature at Oxford University this autumn. Last year, I finished my English Literature degree at Exeter and am currently on a gap year.

📚 Do you have a book club? Yes! You can join it here for free: fable.co/club/reading-with-th...
📝 Have you written a book? My life goal is to be a published author and make a living from writing and I am using this year to gain experience, build up a portfolio and work on a book with my agent. I have just finished the final draft of that book, as you can see in this video. I did self-publish a book about bullying when I was seventeen which is available on Amazon (amzn.to/3mdJKLm), but I'm slightly embarrassed by it now!
🎃 Do you have merch? I don't have merch in the traditional sense (I can't imagine selling something with my face or name on haha!), but I do have a stationery company where I sell planners for students. These are all designed with students in mind and follow models which I've used when planning my studying. Our products are printed in pastel colours on recycled paper: bit.ly/3wgsR85
🍵 What's your favourite tea? That's a REALLY hard one, but I think I'd have to say the B&B Chocolate Digestive Tea: bird-and-blend-tea-co.sjv.io/... (affiliate link)
Watching Ruby grow from doing after school to after uni to now after WORK night routines is the loveliest thing to see. So wonderful to watch how far you’ve come Ruby❤️❤️❤️
She works a part time, let's not get ahead of ourselves.
well she is an adult most people would have had jobs when they were younger than her
@@ieatgremlins let's not minimize the big and little successes and changes
And full time youtube and stationary shop and starting school again soon!
Enjoy it now, because our gal is soon heading off to Oxford❤
"I hope you have more than just a productive week" 🥺
We are the same age and have gone through all of these milestones (finishing school, starting uni, working, etc) at relatively similar times and it is so nice to see someone hitting those similar growth phases and navigating life at similar pace to me ❤️ I also work in a school!
I envy your ability to go between tasks. When I come home from work I have to completely switch off, no phones no people no nothing just a pair of headphones.
Can’t even read atm because I’m studying for theory tests. Really like your routines and ability to stick at them
Hey Ruby an idea for the next vlog: maybe you can share some of your reflections on your experiences at the part-time job (without disclosing personal details). It can be a good exercise to think about the gap between learning something on your own and learning something to others.☺
I loved the intentional "I hope you have more than just a productive week" at the end :)
Ruby your routines (and days in the life) videos are my favourites. It’s a joy to see them evolve over time. I definitely get a feeling of you taking more compassionate care of yourself in more recent ones, which is lovely to see 💕
Haha yes, RUBY GRANGER is funny 😊
Oh that’s so lovely for you to say. Thank you! And I’m pleased you (still!) like them!
🤍🤍🤍
Watching your vlogs about your routines bring me such joy.
Ruby, I find your routines very interesting and enjoyable to watch.
What a lovely night routine! Thank you for sharing! :)
Lovely simple routine - I do enjoy watching these x
It's so nice to see you getting better and looking so much healthier again. I hope you stay that way and that you will have much success in your part time job and your new Uni life starting September!
I love the vibe of your videos
the birds chirping throughout the whole video; so cosy
My nighttime routine is a chance for me to unwind and be cozy :) even as an extrovert, I need this time alone to recharge! Love this Ruby ~ Love from California!
I'm from the southern hemisphere and I can feel summer radiate through the screen! Makes me so excited for summer to come :)
you seem very kind and thoughful. Love your videos Ruby
how amazing you get to inspire other children/young people directly with their education

I actually recommended Klara and the sun to you about a year ago in a comment, so I'm happy to see you're enjoying it! I absolutely loved it.
I would love to be in nature places like this always 😊❤.. so inspiring to watch this videos
My sister had her first date at Blackwells in Oxford with her now husband. 2 years ago they got married, on their wedding day they went back to Blackwell's bookshop and had a chat with the people who own it and left with goody bags full of books.
You live in a wonderful , magic place. I love it so much❤
This video supplements my daily birdsong requirement. Thanks 😂
Appreciate the effort to keep sharing videos. Stay well and be sure you’re getting enough sleep and exercise to balance the reading and work 👌
Beautiful!
I’m in the US and where I live it’s currently 90°+F and a salad sounds so good and refreshing, I think I’ll have one for dinner as well! Love your videos!!! Your dog is so adorable ❤
It’s the best thing in the heat! Especially with a good dressing!!
I just started a new job today which will require a totally different morning/night routine as it has a very early start, so this has come at a great time to give me some inspiration! Thanks for another great video Ruby! :)
Good luck with your new job! X
@@RubyGranger8 Thank you so much !
This is a lovely night routine! I have such a strange routine because I work 6pm-2:30am haha But its good. I need to read more after work

A VERY RELAXING VIDEO INDEED
Thank you! 😊
This was really relaxing and therapeutic, love your videos like this.
Watching Ruby is a part of my nighttime routine
I understand if it's too personal but I would love to see a little garden/house tour! I always admire in your videos that it looks so nice and like a cozy little castle ☺
It is like going back in time 😅
How adorable is Lola? Omg 🐾
Reading a book is a good way to end the day. It is much better for helping get a right mood and fall asleep faster. I usually do the same 😊
Omg Klara and the Sun is my fave book ever.
Hi Ruby - great video as usual! I am wondering if you could do a video on how you make decisions?
Lovely😍❤️
“stillness and silence” as a teacher, same ruby, same.
I read Klara and the sun earlier this year and thoroughly enjoyed it! Hopefully you like it too!! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts
Lovely relaxation! Can you please share some of your 2023 summer music playlist?
klara and the sun is one of my favorite books!!
Good video watching your videos makes me want to pick up a book to read
Good to see you are staying off the booze! Keep healthy
This reminds me I need a sleep mask. I need to cover my screen to signal to my brain
I love the open window no air conditioning. ❤
Honestly your shower is soo cool

"It's actually really hot" > proceeds to wear stockings and a jacket 😬JK, I love your style, Ruby, and just so you know, your wisdom in protecting your students' privacy doesn't go unnoticed
Literally haha! It felt like a cooler choice 🙈 and thank you! I appreciate you acknowledging that actually. The internet can be a dangerous space and so I just want to stay super private about work ♥️
Awesome video ruby
Thank you! X
@@RubyGranger8 no worries
I loved Klara and the Sun! I've read a few of Ishiguro's books and although I can see why he's so critically acclaimed, they're not my favourite. But Klara was different. I loved seeing the world through her eyes, it was almost like a child narrator, but different in her mixture of childlike innocence and deep intelligence. In the end, I was almost ready to believe that Klara's pure love really did move the sun to help Josie (I love a bit of magical realism)... At the same time, I was so upset by the parts that bring you back to cold, harsh reality - the treatment Rick receives from society, Josie's teenage ingratitude and, of course, the injustice of Klara's fate (surely they could've prolonged her life!). Of course, Klara reminded me in many ways of Never Let Me Go - the question of what exactly makes "real" people so much more valuable than, say, Klara, at some moments you want to say - she's so much better than humans, they don't deserve her, but when the idea of AI Josie comes up, I felt like I myself have this deep-rooted belief that there is a human "soul", flawed but irreplaceable and irreplicable (but are we really that special?). Its one of the books I wish I could forget and read again for the first time :D
Lola drinking water in the background ☺️💙
oh my gosh where did you get your pajamas!! i love these!
I know that you and your mum have been growing plants forever, but if you don't mind my giving a tip, here it is! When I poured water directly at the soil in the pot, the roots of some plants would get exposed with time. That maybe because they weren't potted properly. But the shower kinda thing you did at 1:03 1:04 - if you did that with the pots as well, the water would filter through the leaves and get into the soil. I actually saw that my plants flowered more when I did that :) Plants do love rain after all. And this would be simulated rain
Only do that very early morning, or in the evening, though, as the wet leaves could get scorched in the sun, or get blight.
@@crystaledwards8854 Didn't know this. I have always watered my plants in the evening tgh(lucky!)😁
There is actually a real Ruby Granger! I don't believe it she is a real human. The stereo type is not a fantasy ❤😂
I'm still in school but this work night routine was great
Your shoes are so cute! Do you mind sharing where you got them? I'd love to see a video of where you like to shop for outfits/clothes. Your style is so cute!
They’re actually just from Clark’s! I got them about 6 years ago - but you could find something similar if you look for court shoes :) x
I looked the journaling app but sadly it's only available for ios, android or macos and I prefer typing on my laptop (windows). Love your routine and also love kumbutcha, wish I knew how to make it since it's pretty expensive where I live. I like drinking camomille tea before bed, it's so soothing.
From afterschool to afterschool hmm long time its been😌❣️
Very full circle ♥️
@@RubyGranger8 veryyyy😌❣️
Hi, I might be totally wrong but noticed at 1:51 you may have a small rip under your sleeve of your dress! Not a criticism at all, just wanted to let you know if you missed it/ hopefully can restitch without it getting bigger 😊❤
Great wholesome video. Please share some of your writings.
I do share them on my website :) www.rubygranger.com x
Eye masks are great for keeping the light out. If you can invest in a silk one even better as it is good for the skin around the eyes, you can do an internet search to read about that. Mine is in pink.
Hello,Ruby!
I think Kombucha is Japanese food,I would like you to come to Japan☺️
From a Japanese student🇯🇵
I'd LOVE to visit Japan!
Window open at night with the inside light on? Does England have no bugs?? I’m envious! This was lovely.
You get moths come in at night, that’s about it!
We’re so lucky not to have them!!
@@RubyGranger8 England is a fairytale!!

If you could do your home town tour that will be great
Nice

Im first ruby 🎉
hello dear , i have been following ur videos from india
Ruby outdoes me again. My routine is food, youtube, book, bed. The cover on the screen seems like a pretty good idea.
Hopefully i'll study english lit one day.
Hi, Ruby. Do you perhaps have some tips for setting up a good night routine? (Other than just seeing what works for you of course)
I would say plan it out, make a few schedules after creating a list of everything you want to accomplish. Then test out the different routines and figure out what works, tweak each one until it fits. This again is trial and error but figuring out a structure, a better timeframe will be useful. This is not me in running of track or being late is bad, it is very normal and something we all need to take in to consideration when planning routines but nonetheless putting a bit more structure, doing our trial and error a bit more intentionally I believe can be a lot more helpful. This way we do not have to repeat routines that were useless and rather can use our time productively. I want to clarify that our night routine do not always need to be productive, and sometimes that just doesn’t work with us on our days, we might come home tired and believe the idea of being productive is not going to work but nonetheless creating a night routine that actually works, that is possible for us to follow every day no matter if we are running a few minutes late, or are extremely exhausted is important. This was testing it out over the course of a few nights when you might be feeling different moods and coming home at different times will allow you to figure out one that works the best. I know things trial and error can be daunting, a generic response but at least for me it is the most useful rather than trying to copy someone else’s routine and not not working at all from my life with my schedule. I do still hope this can help and also I am legally blind
@@lillysummeroriginals1213 Wow. This makes sense. Thank you so much. It will help illuminate all of the things that waste our time. Trial and error is a way to solve problems. If you are, for example, spending 2 or 3 hours cooking and don't feel like it and would rather order in, meal planning and prep in advance could help save you time. Maybe it is also best if your routine is flexible to accommodate for different mood and energy levels. As long as it is productive and helps wind you down I guess.
@@micaylabam2428 I am happy to help. Yes figuring out what works for you will be useful, as well as being flexible so that you can actually have a night routine compared to just a chaotic evening. Part of a routine is trying to reduce the chaos and so giving yourself some leeway, depending on your mood and time can allow you to stick to that routine more and reduce stress. Somethings running five minutes late, even 20 minutes late, you do not need to panic because you have this assurance that your night routine is going to be flexible and work with you no matter what time you get home. even if you are going to have to neglect some tasks because you’re late, your routine is it in the garbage for that night and you can still accomplish a lot of your goals and keep that routine going for the next night and future night.
I might be the only one but I'm curious what kind of plants do grow in the garden :)
Maybe you can tell us about your favorite plants in there, or your favorite spot?
Oh that’s a lovely idea! I’d love to share my favourites! My favourites are my mum’s artichokes and the tomato plants my dad has been caring for. I also have pumpkins out the back which I’m particularly proud of 🙈
Hi ruby
I love that dress where’s is from x
What time do you get home from work? If it’s 5pm then I feel like shit for getting hardly anything done with my evenings😅
Wonder where Ruby got her shoes?
Do you add the birds noises in the background or are they actually there? ❤😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
A few vlogs ago (or was it in an instagram story?) Ruby mentioned a series she used to watch with her mum, which ought to be a very comforting and good-mood kind of series (it was not Gilmore Girls 😁😅). Does anyone remeber which one that was? I was looking through all her previous vlogs and posts and couldn't find it. Thanks a lot!!💛
Perhaps Anne with an E or Malory Towers?
@@emilyn927 Yes, Malory Towers, that was it! Thank you 😊🎈
One thing i noticed is that only a limited time is arranged for smartphones :)
Hi Ruby, just so you know, the link in your bio for the B&B chocolate digest tea says it is malformed so it can’t be accessed 😮 x
Malformed? That’s so bizarre! Thank you - I’ll check what’s happened 🙈x
Please help,
What is the difference between enjoying school and enjoying the idea of school?
Please share your opinions, I want to write about this idea but I don’t want it just to be my opinions but rather many peoples. Share everything you have thank you so much

How big is your garden?? :))
Will you be living in Oxford during your master's degree?
