We're of Asian descent and this elderly Canadian woman, maybe 65+, started chatting with me and just having friendly banter. She was there with her granddaughter (btw, Canadian kids swear like sailors at a hockey game) Suddenly, the "kiss me" music started playing but as I was engaged in conversation with this granny, I'm not lookin at no screen. Pinching on my arm happens for a couple times, and I look at my girlfriend and go "yo whatchu doing? what I do?" She points at the jumbotron and I start laughing, alongside Granny, but this camera does not change the scene and stays on the four of us. Granny tells me I gotta kiss her for the cam. I motioned in, but my girlfriend put her palm up being all sassy, and the crowd was chuckling. After pausing a second, I turn to Granny and I tell her "Granny, I'm gonna give you a kiss instead then" and gave a kiss on the cheek and she gave me a hug while we just stared a hard glare at my girlfriend. The crowd erupted with cheers and laughs while people around us started patting me on the shoulder Odd little gimmicks the west has at these games, but I'll admit, these crowd interaction moments they have to add a bit of flavor to the games!
