This was such a pick me up frrr bc I'm suffering from post-concert depression (from the 21 sav concert yesterday in Toronto and LOLL drake came out, also ironic with how the pod started haha). I had a whole breakdown today about school and if I even wanna do med anymore, this entrance exam for medical school is killing meeeee and y'all have a grad theme for the podcast! Some majors are hard and require the majority of your attention and an introduction to the field through hs classes (like physics for engineering) can be very helpful to make the transition to college easier during the lower level years, but yea a lot of hs classes can be seen as unnecessary and random but I think they try to introduce you to a lot of things so you find what interests you and adjust your schedule accordingly
Im in school rn to become a chemistry teacher. Understandable why some feel like they don't need it. I just hope to build relationships and foster growth and learning, even if my students think they won't need it in the future. Love the pod🔥

in my freshman year of hs, everyone in my grade were little shits but the one person who we respected was the math teacher i had. he was just your average teacher but the way he taught us, he let us know he wanted us to make mistakes and not all questions were dumb questions. he was lowkey strict on us but overall he was rlly nice

As someone with a Bachelors of Science in Forensic Psychology and in my final year of my Masters of Science in Forensic Psychology….
College is necessary depending on the career path! Without my education, I would not have the job and opportunities I have now.
I went to college in hopes of making friends and being social, but it ended up not being that because I went online after my freshman year:/
My motivation is never there but my parents constantly pushing me to get A’s and go to college I don’t know what else to do besides school. And now I push myself for A’s and my confidence and attitude reflects my grade. So if I get a B+, I’m upset

I was on a free ride, I actually kinda cheated the system and got paid to go to college 😂 I changed from being on campus to doing online classes last minute and they gave me all the money they would’ve given me for being on campus. But I was going for Finance, don’t know why but it wasn’t cause I really wanted to go. I just went to college cause that’s what was “next” and I didn’t really question it. I was working 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am) and I had classes like at 9 and 11, it was just too much and so when winter break came I never went back. I don’t regret it honestly cause I’ve learned so much about myself and I feel more confident and better. I’m going back to school but it’s a community college, going for HVAC, wish I would’ve just done it straight out of high school but nobody ever really told me anything. Unless you want to be something niche like a doctor, lawyer, etc… something that REQUIRES a degree then college isn’t really worth it. It’s an experience for sure but idk, I don’t feel like I missed out on anything tbh. My advice: learn a trade for stable, good income and take a risk, start your business, yt channel, tiktok, music, clothing brand, whatever, just do it.
