Regarding the Five Kasen, Venti, Kazuha, Ayaka and Xingqiu were models for paintings of Five Kasen during a festival in Inazuma that's why they seemed familiar to you. We don't how Five Kasen really looked like

For more info, the Five Kasen were 'kinda' historical figures, 5 poets with names based on colors. The cutscene is like a modern telling of their story using the chars as visual models, matching the color palettes with the poets' names.
@@PostTimeskipSam I highly recommend you look into checking out the previous story-based events of Genshin, since many of them contain interesting lore and cool cutscenes. For example, the Irodori Festival event, where we learned about the Five Kasen. The mystery of the Five Kasen was used to lead the characters into discovering another mystery - the history of Kazuha's family and Ayaka and Ayato's family, and what really happened to damage their clans' reputations.
There are people like Xeno Archive who upload compilation videos of the event cutscenes, but these story-based events have a tendency to have anywhere from 1 to 2 hours of scenes to show, so it's up to you whether you want to essentially react to a movie or look up summary videos. I recommend starting with Unreconciled Stars, from version 1.1, as it was the very first voice acted and story-based event in the game, and it has left a lasting impression on the playerbase.

The biggest thing is watching it once & seeing the spectacle of it all . Gets me excited to learn about the context! I did this with Honkai Impact & it didn't ruin my experience at all

Explanation about Venti: Venti is a god, but his appearance is small elemental being. And he meet this boy and help him win over tyranny, but boy die sadly. Venti took his form and this we are see in the game. Explained in Venti story quest. Sorry for bad english, not my native language.

One correction, Venti wasn't a god yet at the time. He was just an anemo spirit, he only ascended to godhood after the people of Mondstadt overthrew Decarabian.

I just realized he missed the cutscenes for the events, Unreconciled Stars, both the Albedo events: Chalk Prince and Shadows Amidst Snowstorms. They’re pretty good and kind of important to the overall sorry/lore of genshin so it sucks that they were limited events.
I pulled what I could find from the Genshin Impact YT so I may have to make a separate of other limited timed events cutscenes

35:38 this guy is the head of a Bubu pharmacy and he is a sort of guardian for qiqi. He has his part in Liyue story, but he is a dendro character, so he is not playable now. Hopefully he will be released after 3.0 when Sumeru and dendro will come to game, because this dude is gorgeous.

35:37 Baizhu is a doctor from liyue, he was teased at the beginning of the game (the first character with the element dendro which is grass i think) but he's not yet playable, i hope he will be released soon!

If you watch the venti one again (10:44), there is a small white sprite with the boy, that's Venti. The boy is his friend whom appearance he took after the boy died.
About the story promotional video. It was like a little ad at the version 2.5 special program. Also, the last two trailers are connected to the Chasm that has been released as a new area in version 2.6. But, these trailers are brand new from the new quest in 2.7. So basically, the Yaksha Bosacius with Boyang (in teaser) are trapped deep down in the Chasm, and in trailer Yanfei, Kuki, Yelan, Itto, Xiao and Traveler with Paimon having got there by mistake, found a way to get out of there.
And also, in teaser for the first time have been shown the Yakshas' appearance (you've seen them in other teaser about 5 Yakshas and Xiao). Oh and if you interested, soon will be released a new region Sumeru. So be ready for more adventures and characters after finishing all the story quests that are available now.

Lantern Rite cutscenes always get me. I remember watching the second Lantern Rite cutscene at like 2am, cryong my eyes out. I joined at 1.3, and got to join the Lantern Rite events in time, and the second Lantern Rite marked my anniversary playing Genshin. It had been a really tough year for me and my only solace was playing my daily commissions and listening to voice lines. Throughout the year, even though the characters we're just fantasy, fictional, I found myself looking at them and thinking of them as friends.
Ngl, Bosacius Cutscene Almost Made me Cry when i watched it ingame after so much time playing that quest, It was Amazing, can't wait for Sumeru
*also, we need more yaksha stories, especially that one that was on "fire", even if only as a flashback*

the one about the yaksha bosacius was my favourite so far, with the whole context is even better. but it was an event mission, I don't know if you can still play it or you already played it. I prefer it in japanese btw, but it is really good in every language, they did a great job
Actually, that story is permanent. It's listed as Archon Quest Interlude Chapter: Act II. It's just that it had a limited time event tied to it, and that event was temporary, but the story is permanent. If you pause the game, go into the Archive, go to Travel Logs, and scroll to the right, you'll find the transcripts for the quest saved in your Archive.

Please guys, to immerse him in the story and not spoil him, don't confirm or deny anything that he theorizes based on the story teasers and event cutscenes. It makes sense to us, but people who haven't played the game and don't know the context of the stories have no, in other words, zero, clue what is happening.

A lot of EN players probably didnt know this. On the day when Mihoyo released the first Genshin CG(b4 the game was even out). The company CEO Dawei had a stream where he asked players to find relations between Honkai and Genshin.
In my opinion Genshin is actually a science-fiction in a magical-fantasy disguise. A lot of the supernatural activities can actually be explained by honkai science there XD.

So yakshas are basically entities who were summoned by rex lapis (zhongli) to protect líyué from other interdimensional threats. But due to karma or karmic debt being piled up from millennial worth of slaughtering, they started eroding, its like losing themselves. So some of them started killing each other (hydro yaksha killed geo yaksha) and electro yaksha was locked himself in the depths of chasm to keep liyue away from bad stuff( entities like rifthounds who were emerged from the catclysm or the disaster that happened 500 years ago, which was mentioned in WE WILL BE REUNITED). it was recently revealed that more than 5 yakshas were exists in tevyay so who knows we might see more of em

it was a story event about the yaksha that vanished, there were 5 yaksha including xiao the green clothed boy, the other 3 died (the red or pyro girl went insane and geo and hydro yaksha killed each other) only xaio remains
the reason why they are underground is that during the calamity where monsters plague liyue he (bocacious) and some soldiers lured the monsters underground and trapped them where they are at their weakest however it also trapped them inside, and this space slowly devours the souls of those who stays in it with no way out all of them died and this was his last momments

Venti was the tiny wisp alongside the boy. I won't spoil too much of the story, so I suggest you play Venti's story quest to get the full context. Trust me, you'll feel sad for our bard god.
Also, that was Diluc's ancestor cradling the young boy's body, and to the lower left of him is Amos, the original owner of the in-game weapon Amos' Bow.
As always i really enjoyed your reactions! I've been playing Genshin since Version 1.1 and watching reactions makes me nostalgic/ is a great way to relieve cool and emotional moments of the Game.
I would for you to react to the limited Event Cutscenes you missed since you won't see them ingame anymore anyway! I guess most cool would be to see you react to Albedos Dragonspine Event Quests!

Regarding the outfits. 4 star outfits will be given for free during the event that it was released in, after the event ends you can buy the outfits in the shop for about $20 depending where you are in the world (also 5 star outfits during the event, the price normal gets chopped in half for a limited time). And your right on the money about Venti, The Venti we see in game, he took the form of his friend which was the one who died in the revolution to free Mondstadt, you’ll learn about it in his character story. My heart really breaks for Qiqi especially in the lantern rite recently because she’ll forget it tomorrow. Also the Only old memories remain cutscene IS AFTER you complete the very recent Archon Quest which takes place in the Chasm, which this delves more into the backstory of Yakshas and The Chasm, also it was in Xiao’s teaser you leaned about the fates of only the 5 Foremost. And the last cutscene I HATED HOW IT GAVE ME HONKAI CHAPTER 9 PTSD cuz I snapped back to Himeko falling when Xiao fell, it just killed me.

Great video as always. I'm a bit worried on how watching the cutscenes early might affect your experience with the story later on. Most, if not all, of the story teasers are taken from story and archon quests and many are full of spoilers. Still, I hope you get to enjoy the story as much as I did. Have fun!
Don't worry it won't! I did this with Honkai Impact 3rd & it is still one of my favorite stories in gaming & a forgot most of what I watched since it was all out of context

I recomend you to watch the gameplay of some events that are characters story/lore. For example the events that albedo are.

The albedo event cutscenes are so great
The yaksha are tragic people cuz as time pass and fighting battles after battles they're consumed by karma which makes them go crazy, the pyro yaksha went mad with fear, both geo and hydro yaksha died fighting each other after going crazy, bosacious died fighting the abyss monsters even when he's nearly at his limit with his karma, and we can actually see xiao being consumed by karma in the old memory cutscene, but in the five yaksha cutscene we see venti singing a tune which nulifies Xiaos karma hence saving him from xiao being crazy like his brothers and sisters, he's still doing battles and accumulating karma to this day and he sometimes meet with venti to detox if you may lol.

Those teaser you watched. Some are promotional vid for an ads, some are from the quest in the game and some are from the story event for each patch.
I reccommend you watch story event playthrough or atleast summary vid for previous patch's event after you play the game. This is one of the problem that new player cannot witness those story but Hoyoverse try to fix that they try to include event story in permanent story now.
Currently, I am playing through quests & then based on chat recommendations I will also watch some limited time events on stream as well.

yep, some of this is really rather big spoilers. but i don't think you have to worry. first of all some of it is so far in the future, knowing how far you progressed so far (at least estimating) i don't think you will see a lot of this for quite a while. and secondly, while there were many scenes, there is still a lot of cutscenes you (probably) havn't seen :D
but some of this you will also never see anyways since it was from events. for example the story of the 5 kasen. it's a *very* complicated story so i can't go too much into detail. but basically the story is that albedo - as an artist - was invited to portray an ancient history of the 5 kasen. during the event things happen to characters that resemble the 5 kasen. so albedo uses those characters for inspiration. the characters you see are (in order) venti, xinqiu, kazuha and ayaka. the 5th is a bit of a secret :^) they don't look exactly the same as you remember and have different names since they are just meant to portray them.
Since these scenes were out of context, they don't make sense so I will eventually forget them by the time I get to them in the story. I just enjoy watching the spectacle of it all!

Long story short, Yakshas are basically demon hunters who Zhongly/ the Geo Archon sent out to kill demon.
But hundreds of years of doing this made them collect Karma, which will eventually makes them go mad.
In Bosacius case he lost his memory and ended up in the chasm after luring monsters down there to Protect Liyue.
He had an electro vision.
baizhu is not playable yet, since he has dendro vision and we don't have any dendro characters in game yet (we are currently at a version 2.7, after that we'll get 2.8, and then 3.0, where the new region and dendro element will be released)

The Yaksha are Adepti that served Rex Lapis to cleanse the land.. The last remaining Yaksha is Xiao. Earlier you watched "Yaksha's: The Guardian Adepti" - that was Xiao's story. It talks about the five foremost Yaksha's fate. "Eons of bloodshed later, karmic debt weighed upon them, phantom wrath seeping into their broken souls. They went mad with fear, turned on each other, or succumbed to the darkness. Of the five foremost yaksha, death came to three, while the fourth vanished without a trace." - this chasm event is/was a closure section for this part of Xiao's story....

49:00 is part of the Perilous Trail interlude quest so it's permanent. Only the domain part where you fight multiple rounds was event-exclusive 😉

Although we dont know a lot about the yakshas, they are one of my favourite concepts in the game. Xiao is the only playable character out of all of them and the only one still alive. Rex Lapis (Zhongli) had them protect and cleanse the land but after so much killing they went insane and killed eachother. We didnt know how Bosacius (the purple 4 armed guy) died but aftet this quest we found out. Not even Xiao is save from this madness called karma, but he is able to control himself and sadly, spending to much time near humans can hurt them, so he avoids them.

These characters (non-playable) are the guardians of the northland bank (The bank that is located in Liyue Harbor (China) but belongs to Sneznaya (Russia)). Vlad guards it only at daytime and Nadia stands here only at night. They write letters to each other and never meet each other because of their work. The only time we see them together is Lantern Rite festival.
@@PostTimeskipSam No event or quest, you will know their story by talking to them. After some time their dialogues changes and their relationship progress a bit.
In the lantern right, if you remember theirs this 2 mask people in the crowd, they are Vlad and Nadia, they used to be penpal and Nadia do have an interest to Vlad but both did not know that they are each other's penpal. Before that cutscene, Vlad already plan to return to their country but wanted to meet her first. So seeing them meeting each other together is very sweet. Also they are both working as guard in North Bank, one work at daytime while the other at night so they never met. Them becoming penpal is just an accident

When you said "LOOK IT'S KIANNA" I said exactly the same thing, she is the nameless goddess, but there are rumors but nothing supported by mihoyo, we still don't know anything about her, pure speculation, or fan theories, but I assure you that as you, many of us who play honkai, said exactly the same as you when seeing the nameless goddess.
Definitely intentional too, they want us to be panicking!

I'm selfishly loving your reactions, but it's kinda sad. A lot of these videos have much more an impact within the logical flow and context of the story, and you're watching them out of order and without the context. :(
For me, when something is out of context & doesn't make sense. I just forget about it because it doesn't hold any weight that it would have if I knew what is happening.
I did this same thing with Honkai Impact 3rd & when I finally started going through the main quests. All the emotional impact I saw through the cutscenes were still there. Scenes that I thought were flashy lights & fights. Were now scenes I cried at.
So don't worry, the scenes will still hit really hard.
These are mostly all cutscenes used throughout various story beats. Venti remeniscing in rhyme, zhongli speaking about azdaha's creation, kazuha speaking about the aspirations of his friend to block a gods ultimate finishing move somehow, the most recent quest that came out in "chasm" about a yaksha who disapeared, and its climactic cutscene that you've now spoiled etc. They're all too deep and complex to overflow this comment with explanations. So... just go play the video game. :p or go rewatch the one time yearly events you missed.
For me watching spoilers out of context don't matter. I will not remember most of these cutscenes. 🤣🤣

Shame that outside of comments giving you context, most of this cutscenes you can't even see anymore as most are event cutscenes that are now gone forever.

These story cutscenes are always absolutely amazing and I love them to death! So pretty & well made - they even move me to tears at times, because they're so beautiful.
That's why it's such a shame the actual story itself so far is mostly extremely lackluster and even bad at times. It definitely had some highlights & some great moments so far, but overall it's very disappointing considering the scope of this game IMO. Most of the time Mihoyo does NOTHING with all these amazing characters and world they created. 90% of the story(telling) is pretty much just talking to boring & forgetable sameface NPCs and doing meaningless errands/tasks for them, despite the world offering so much more interesting things they could focus on instead... When I think about how much better the story(telling) could be in this game, it makes me really sad.
Well, fortunately we do get these occasional really great cutscenes at least and I love the characters, world, music & gameplay! But man, Genshin would be even better if they would start to finally deliver with the story(telling) aswell...
I don't play Honkai and I heard a lot of good things about its story, so I hope you don't get disappointed with Genshin's story in comparison once you really start with it, because unfortunately - aside from these cutscenes - the story is definitely one of the weakest aspects of Genshin so far IMO.
So far from what I've seen of the Genshin story is interesting & the only reason Honkai's story got good is because it took some time. 2.8 in Honkai (we are now at 5.8) only just started to get interesting for me. So that fact that Genshin already has some great stories like Albedo's. I'm sure it will just get better & better!

I mean it's definitely not like I hate the story or anything - nah, it's fine, but I'd just expect a little bit more from such an interesting & beautiful world. A few Story & Archon quests were definitely pretty good so far & like I said those cutscenes are absolutely gorgeous, but overall the story is still somewhat lacking & mediocre most of the time so far IMO. I fear that when Sumeru arrives with 3.0 it will be the same NPC shenanigans as always. But you got a point there with Honkai. Let's hope you're right and Genshin's story also gets better later on!
