PATREON SUPPORT: / chrislifts - Zábava
The unclean vocals is Cory Lockwood.
The drummer of this band was in Sianvar with Will Swan from DGD and Donny from Hail the Sun, and is currently in Royal Coda with Will and Kurt.
To add to this, Cory Lockwood is in Sufferer with Shane Gann from Hail the Sun.
This band is permanently cemented as my #1 band of all time. Kurt Travis & Cory Lockwood deliver some of the best duo vocalist lyrics. While they have atmospheric songs like this, it’s usually mixed into much more frantic & chaotic heaviness. While you cant miss with any album. Conversation Piece & No Place are the alums you should pull from for sure. I really hope you continue checking them out. Orange Time Machines Care or No Nurture are some interesting picks to show them off
vanity's fair on the same album is AMAZING, would love to see your reaction
I second this!!!!
THIS
That s my favorite song from the album! Followed by Blowtorch, Tantrum, & Satire! The whole album is perfection!
Cory Lockwood is the screamer. After Birds broke up he did a short lived project called "Sufferer". His screams aren't as refined as Jon Mess but he'll grow on you. Check out Sufferer - Sword. It has some serious Secret Band level heaviness.
LOVEEEEEE ALLB. I don't have a particular recommendation because you should honestly just listen to their entire discography. It's all gold.
5:04 That vocal march into that brutal breakout is a part I always rewind over and over. Poetrycore. 👌
These guys are insanely talented. Glad i randomly searched for an ALLB reaction.
If you decide to react to more, Connector, Vanity's Fair and Next To Ungodliness are must-listens.
The drummer Joseph Arrington is a beast. Vanity Fair and Tantrum are other good tracks off this album.
Oh yeah, this is one of the most ambient tracks off this album. Also Cory Lockwood is screaming and doing most of the spoken vocals on this album. Hope you check out more of this album. I suggest the track Tantrum (Far From the Tree the Apple Grew Rotten) by A Lot Like Birds.
Birds is the kind of band that gives you chills
my favorite song of all time.
I'm so happy you finally did A Lot Like Birds. I need more!!!!
The best one and the one that rips my heart out and stomps on it: No Nurture.
And you'll know why the minute you listen to it
Oh yeah
Some DGD/Swancore Lore here. After Happiness, Kurt, got kicked out of dgd to bring Johnny Craig and Jon Mess back for dbmII which came out in march of 2011. He joined A lot Like Birds in early 2011 (the band started in 09). The song you're listening to comes off their second album: Conversation Piece which came out in late 2011. Kurt stayed in this band until 2016. Cory Lockwood (the unclean vocalist here) would take over some of the clean vocals with their bassist Matt Coate after his departure. ALLB would call it quits in 2018.
Cory Lockwood is the screamer for A Lot Like Birds. Cory is an amazing lyricist. I say he's like Jon but the lyrics make sense.
I'm just saying dude react to the album 🤷♂️
progressive posthardcore
Next to Ungodliness, No Nature, No Nurture & Recluse.. there are no words. Their split destroyed me. Kurt, Cory, Joe, Ben, Butters, & Michael were a match made by the Gods. JUST LISTEN TO ALL OF CONVO. PIECE & NO PLACE! Even Plan B, before they were all together, is great.
Orange Time Machines Care! Or Kuroi Ledge!
They're definitely heavily inspired by dgd. They have a separate unclean singer who went on to be lead vocals when Kurt left the band.
Do Orange time Machine Care!!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Side project?? SIDE PROJECT?!??
A lot like birds is like dance gavin dance but with better and deeper lyrics, atleast for two albums
Should have listened to Orange Care Time Machine
Next to Ungodliness is my fav from them, but listen to Orange Time Machines Care
I hope you follow the same pattern you're doing with DGD with this band. ALLB has some great tracks, some of the best lyrics of any band I've heard in my opinion, and No Place is probably one of the best albums I've ever heard regarding the way each song flows to the next. Also, it wouldn't be as cumbersome as DGD as they only released 3 albums.
It is not Kurt screaming and react to their song Next to Ungodliness
Finally! Been waiting for ALLB reaction for a while. Vanitys Fair, Next to Ungodliness, Properties of Friction, Connector ah hell what am I saying. Any song you pick from Conversation Piece or No Place will be a banger!
Good choice starting with this one, the ambience and buildup throughout the song are so good! Anything off Conversation Piece is worth checking out, I havent listened to much if anything from their other releases. Orange Time Machines Care and Vanity's Fair are my top recommendations.
Joe Arrington's drumming really makes this band pop for sure. He's definitely one of my favs. Definitely reccomend vanity's fair by them
def one of their slower songs, great band to pick for reactions tho, especially that album.
if you really like Kurt Travis like I do, you should check out the band Royal Coda
Ahh man you should've started from track 1. This album is perfection
Kurt sang for DGD for a little bit. But ALLB>>>>>>DGD.
