- This is a reload of a previously uploaded video, I took out some of the finer details on what I was doing so hopefully this video will not get taken off of CZcams

Have you seen David McTailor's curling iron trick for removing a star crimp in a fired shell to allow for a roll crimp?
No but I’ll check it out
Very nice video......but you should use a press drill and a little bit of WD-40 oil to get the best results when roll crimping.
Yeah I know, I should put my drill press in my basement- I can’t use it in my garage unless I use a generator
Enjoyed your reloading video. I also reload 12, 20 & 410 shotgun shells with 3 old MEC 600jr presses. One thing that freed up some of my work bench was buying a MEC Jig Fixture (#1008958). I mounted this one jig on the bench & can mount 1 press at a time (& store the other presses under the work bench).
For me storing them all on one board is better, so I can swap out the board for my metallic cartridge reloading board with just 2 screws, But the jig is a cool idea. Thanks for watching!
I've been metallic reloading for quite a while now. Just getting geared up to start reloading shot shells. I've been watching a lot of Shotgun Scientists and BRO, tons of great knowledge there.
First time watching your channel. Really enjoyed the video. Subscribed.
Thanks. I watch BRO and Shotgun Scientists a lot too. They’ve never steered me wrong. Taufledermaus has some good stuff occasionally too
Metallic as in full brass hulls? If so where do you buy yours everywhere I look they are sold out 25 hulls for like around $30 +-. “track of the wolf” is $8.30 EACH brass hull and “rocky mountain cartridge” (20 hulls) for $125 2-5/8” and (20 hulls) 3-1/2” $158!
I like the video format on this one. 👍 Can talk while ya work on loading.
Thanks! I’m overdue for another reloading video, need to make some traditional loads for a jc Higgins with divorced choke- just haven’t found the recipe I like yet
Fascinating. Hope to get into reloading one day. I enjoy learning new things as well. For now, my “spare” money is going to my guns, ammo, supplies, and classes.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your videos and TaoFliedermaus (sp? 🤣) too.
And your basement!
The basement is old- my house was built in 1830, fieldstone and granite throughout. It’s cool but leaks when it rains… have to run a de-humidifier 24/7, it takes a lot of electricity
@@crankygunreviews definitely a sacrifice, but it’s beautiful.
@@naughtystep285 I love my house.
MG42 wad works nice for steel BB. It works in taper and straight wall hulls...but if you're using it in taper wall hulls be sure to use mica wad slick...it'll hold an ounce of those crossman BBs
Good to know!
Do you use them for waterfowl hunting?
I have only used them for target shooting so far. I don’t think there’s a Pugh bbs to be super effective at waterfowl- those usually use a #4-#9 pellet which is smaller so you get more shot. The patterns on these were pretty good, may be ok…
@@crankygunreviews they will on geese and large ducks.
Is it better to roll crimp these or can you star crimp them?
Depends on the hull- I like the clear overshot cards to see the shot, but you probably can fold crimp them as wel
How much long shot is in each round...grain weight?
I’d have to look at my load data again, I think they’re loaded to about 1200 FPS
23 grains.
Bbs work
Yes they do
@@crankygunreviews is this the same video from last night or have I been drinking 😂😳
@@joemorganeatmyshortschannel same but I truncated it to take out the specific recipes in hopes I don’t get channel strikes.
@@crankygunreviews copy that bro my mind ain't been right since dad died last year still dealing with stuff so now I drink too much then wander over to black neighbors house for some fun life's good until I sober up
@@joemorganeatmyshortschannel well, don’t always turn to the booze, it doesn’t fix your problems, only masks them till the buzz wears off, gotta find something to keep your mind and hands busy
2:25 so CZcams would rather us guess and measure wrong and risk explosions cool got it
Pretty much… I did load some of the full recipes on Rumble, search for the same channel name.
@@crankygunreviews ill have to check it out google is good at hiding information regarding firearms
If you can look at my about info, I think my email is in there too- I’d have to dig up my load data again though
1.9cc scoop-- 23 grains of longshot.
I fuck with ur videos cranky guns specially the colt mustang government when u can try the iver Johnson pony 380 nice old little 1911
Iver johnson are harder to find and harder to find parts for. I’ve never even seen one near me. I’m good without a .380 1911. I’d buy another Sig Sauer P238 if I could find one for a reasonable price, but they’re too expensive now
