my brother shot this video. at the time i was in a regional touring band. the end result, was that the industry just didn't care about Dallas bands. if you ever went to a tripping daisy show, you know how fantastic Dallas music was... and then it's clear how little support was given. so sad for so many wonderful acts. even Eddie Brickel quit the minute she met Paul Simon. tragic.
In fact, I saw Tripping Daisy and Deep Blue Something on consecutive nights in late April/early May 1995 in Lubbock at the Depot. Amazing times were had.
I listened to this album all the way through about 100 times when I first got it back in the mid-90's. Very good band. I met them when they played a Halloween show here in Bakersfield in '01. They were really nice guys also.
When I met the Pipes brothers, they were sitting down after the show. I walked over to them and they both stood up (Texas gentlemen.) I told Todd that I was a military guy and that his song "Home" really meant a lot to me.
I saw them in 2020, just before the pandemic really hit. Home was their encore. Still a great song after 25 years. Reminds me of college and sitting on the roof at Cool Beans.
Take my head out of my hands I'll never go through this again I couldn't do it without my friends Get it out of me And I won't I won't Sweat it And I won't I won't Sweat it Jack, Flo and Josey, 19 Come on in, I hope you're clean Do you know how to use this thing? Well, I know, I know And I won't I won't Sweat it And I won't I won't Sweat it And what you do and where you go And wherever you go, well I'll go I'll never let it come to this This comforts me, 'cause I know And we can do most anything To this i'll toast and go home Don't ever let them pull me out 'Cause I know I'm not alone So you think you can change my world And the thought of my little girl All these things, they're all in my head And she says she said That I won't I won't Sweat it And I won't I won't Sweat it And what you do and where you go And wherever you go, well I'll go I'll never let it come to this This comforts me, 'cause I know And we can do most anything To this i'll toast and go home Don't ever let them pull me out 'Cause I know... Mistress - Red House Painters 5. Get a good thing - Jesus Jones 6. In a daydream - The Freddy Jones Band 7. Josey - Deep Blue Something 8. The devil you know - Jesus Jones 9. Pop rockovú skupinu z Dallasu tvorili Todd Pipes spev, basová gitara, Toby Pipessolová gitara, Kirk Tatom gitara a John Kirtland bicie.
It’s funny for the longest time I thought these guys were from England. Pipes has an accent that I never would’ve guessed came from Texas. The lyrics are also quite British.
I literally thought the same thing! When I first heard Todd's voice in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" I thought I heard an accent and my initial guess was Irish! Then I went to Google to research and saw the band is from Texas. Yeah, that gave me a bit of a shock lol. Even the tone of his singing sounds European.
they recorded at such a bad time....in the decade...which is a shame...seemed like the yr of the one hit wonders...and DEEP BLUE SOMTHING sure had a great many songs...if they made a come back now...i think there would be a huge differece in the way the music world sees them...
Am I going mad, or is it the other brother in the band singing this song, because either that or the guys singing a lot higher than in breakfast at tiffanys...
I think the industry picks and chooses its winners. They had a number 1 song but could not come back with a better second album. Plus you need a big label to help promote you.
@corruptsoul69 There are many reasons, but a couple I can think of... 90s were a time where many talented musicians from many genres play, and Deep Blue something's music, while they're good are not catchy... remember music industry is first and foremost about making money, not showing up talents... catchy, flashy musics sells more than good music (which is why music will keep getting worse and worse, until one day all we'll hear are "music" that keeps repeating 2 words but with catchy tunes!)
Guitar solos on this song are seriously good. Fit the song perfectly!
a band that deserved more recognition
i love that band i really think that this generation's music needs a bands like these :)
massively underrated band.

@@mistiroberts1576 fun fact. she's back in full force, and dear friend of mind is a guitar player in her current band
In fact, I saw Tripping Daisy and Deep Blue Something on consecutive nights in late April/early May 1995 in Lubbock at the Depot. Amazing times were had.
I'm not the only one that still listens to this song still
The best 1990s band and music's ever 🎶
I listened to this album all the way through about 100 times when I first got it back in the mid-90's. Very good band. I met them when they played a Halloween show here in Bakersfield in '01. They were really nice guys also.
Everybody's real nice when everything's perfect and you have tons of cash.
When I met the Pipes brothers, they were sitting down after the show. I walked over to them and they both stood up (Texas gentlemen.) I told Todd that I was a military guy and that his song "Home" really meant a lot to me.
Such good people! Thanks for sharing! And thanks for serving our country!
I think you should also give War Song from their 2015 Locust House EP a go. It's another criminally underrated song from this brilliant band.
😐
I saw them in 2020, just before the pandemic really hit. Home was their encore. Still a great song after 25 years. Reminds me of college and sitting on the roof at Cool Beans.
Deep Blue Something was way under rated what an awesome UNDER RATED BAND !!!
i still love this song
very under rated

This is the best song known to man kind and second best band
I still have this album...on cassette *blush*
I can't bring myself to throw away the music that made me.
back when lyrics actually meant something.
Both Pipes brothers have great voices and stage presence. I saw them live in 2001 at a Halloween show and met them. Nice guys and great songwriters.
Damn I miss Todd and Toby....used to run into them all the time at UNT....*sniff memories
Greatness from Denton Texas! Miss y’all!
Take my head out of my hands
I'll never go through this again
I couldn't do it without my friends
Get it out of me
And I won't
I won't
Sweat it
And I won't
I won't
Sweat it
Jack, Flo and Josey, 19
Come on in, I hope you're clean
Do you know how to use this thing?
Well, I know, I know
And I won't
I won't
Sweat it
And I won't
I won't
Sweat it
And what you do and where you go
And wherever you go, well I'll go
I'll never let it come to this
This comforts me, 'cause I know
And we can do most anything
To this i'll toast and go home
Don't ever let them pull me out
'Cause I know
I'm not alone
So you think you can change my world
And the thought of my little girl
All these things, they're all in my head
And she says she said
That I won't
I won't
Sweat it
And I won't
I won't
Sweat it
And what you do and where you go
And wherever you go, well I'll go
I'll never let it come to this
This comforts me, 'cause I know
And we can do most anything
To this i'll toast and go home
Don't ever let them pull me out
'Cause I know...
I'm not alone...

And the comment about the Tripping Daisies....big props, people don't know what they had til its gone!!!!!
I only knew one song from these band. I see a resemblance with The Posies.
Nice compositions
I cant handle it honestly
I’m listening to music !
Magnifique
This is my home at night and was very good.
One of my favorite.. Breakfast at Tiffany's
What...i miss 90's...what a memories...
guitar sounds a bit cure-like, sparkly and reflecting- cool
gabriel jeffery Agree! Touches of Echo & The bunnymen and The Waterboys also apply imo
It was the chorus effect era back then
I can hear a type of the cure influence in this band. Whether that be true or not, it sounds true. 👍🥳💪
Yep
This song positively. I’m not thinking of Tv black suff
cool bass
The other track of this band is breakfast at tiffany's which is awesome

Yes. This is Toby Pipes as opposed to Todd.
