  • This is a video of unboxing our second Smittybilt Overlander XL Tent. We had one for over a year and used it about 200 nights on the trail. We got a new one since we had put our first one through the paces and had a few issues. We figured we would take advantage of this new box and show you whats inside. Sorry for the shaky video quality. I had to film it on my own.

    We've only used our setup twice in a year but love it. We have the new annex and awning from Smittybilt also, enjoy the whole setup. We Herculined our entire trailer and added extra water proof seals to keep water out. I makes a difference. I also built a middle box for our tables and chairs that helped a lot. We used a goalzero setup for power and dometic dual zone 95 frig. were setting up for retirement ovrelanding and staying off grid. Thanks for your videos, we watched them several times before we made our purchase.

      @@AndersonOverland i found the tent and annex on ebay for 1200..with the holidays coming up i'm hoping to find it cheaper but either way after some research and some answered questions i'm upgrading to this tent for next year..thank u again...

    How's the quality of the tent? The older ones got a 50/50 review. Trying to decide if it's worth the cost to go to a cvt.

      silveradoscot I’d say that for a person who is going to be out maybe 10 times a year, this is perfect! If you are out as much as we are its mediocre. We are out at least 100 nights a year in this thing and its been ok so far....just little things which caused us to do a warranty exchange already after just over a year of ownership. If I had the cash, I’d FORSURE go with a CVT or Tepui!

      @@AndersonOverland I plan on using it 5-8 nights a month. What issues have you had?

    • @AndersonOverland
      @AndersonOverland  Před 5 lety

      silveradoscot Torn cover, bent interior rods from bolts falling out and causing the folding rods to stick while in motion, crappy velcro, collapse of the front overhang in a rainstorm. No leaks though.

      @@AndersonOverland did they remedy any of those issues with the new tent? Or is it the same design?

    • @AndersonOverland

      silveradoscot A few.....better velcro, better cover etc. nothing huge.
