  • A top blue-eyed soul track with some powerful vocals, emotional lyrics and a catchy melody.
"I Keep Forgettin'" reached no. 4 in the US charts and was the first single released in 1982 from Michael McDonald since his departure from The Doobie Brothers and taken from his debut album 'If That's What It Takes'.
Michael McDonald has also performed as a prominent backing vocalist on numerous recordings by artists including Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, and Kenny Loggins.
An interesting fact about this song is that a few members of the band Toto played the clavinet, guitar and drums respectively along with the infectectious bassline played by Louis Johnson, one half of The Brothers Johnson.
The song has since been sampled by many artists, most notably Warren G feat. Nate Dogg on their smash hit "Regulate" along with other performers who have also covered the song.
Michael McDonald is still performing live around the world and producing music.
