This is the video I've been waiting for. This requires to get my Sennheiser 660s headphones to listen to this. They are pretty close RAW but I can still tell them apart. After equalization it was BOOM there's the difference. The MKE 600 has a bassier/booming sound to your voice when you speak a sound that a lot of people may not want. The MKH 416 is much more detailed in the voice , a brighter sound. The 416 has a radio broadcast sound to it. The 416 would be my choice still as it easier to alter the "pure" sound of the mic to your taste.

Good stuff E honestly they both sound great , and I think I actually prefer the raw output from either microphone versus the edited output. Even though the edited output did sound really good, it just sounds a little bit better to my ears listening to it raw without the added effects. And honestly I would have to say the 600 did a little bit better at the noise isolation but it was very close. I had to go back and watch the video a couple times to really give my ears a chance to pick out the differences. So that being said bro I feel like either microphone would be a solid option. Always you know me and the type of channel that I run. I try to save as most money as possible so I would probably recommend the cheaper option. But if you have the money to spend and you want super high quality audio you really can't go wrong with either. That being said, keep up the great work bro. Have a good one and I'll catch you on the next one. Honestly, as someone that uses smartphones to do almost all of the production for their channel and with the simple fact that a lot of the newer smartphones these days are eliminating the headphone jack. I really been looking into Bluetooth audio that I can easily connect to my smartphone and get some really good sound quality and your channel is one of the best places for that because you've reviewed a bunch of easy to connect to your smartphone Bluetooth options and they're relatively inexpensive as well. So anytime you drop a video on any type of audio product I'll be right here to watch it and listen to it and check it out cuz you have yet to steer me wrong bro. So again, keep up the great work. Have a good one and I'll catch you on the next one.

I actually agree with Eric Drummond. I like the sound without EQ when I listen via headphones. You can't go wrong with either one RAW.

I tell you the sound rejection off axis to me is better on the MKE 600. Only thing is the MKE 600 can give you more rumble in the low end when the wind is blowing.

I thought i was the only one who heard that, the MKE 600 had a better rejection thn the MKH416

    First up really nice video!
Actually especially in sound there are so many different situations and factors that just hearing 2 scenes won’t show the whole picture, but tell the main story.
Bottom line is clearly that both mics are awesome mics for their prices and the mke 600 is a very good budget alternative for more ideal recordings and has more “features” and on the other hand the mkh 416 is a professional mic build like a tank for harsh conditions.
When you use a 1000$ mic it is certain that you pair it probably with a more high end recorder like a Mixpre or higher zoom which then have limiters and other options build in then the “additional” features of the mke 600 are negligible as you more like also post-process all your audio.
The mke 600 is a good tool for run and gun 1 man crews as it may reduced the overall turnaround time / ease of use (less post-processing).
Still absolutely love my MKH 416 with the Mixpre 6 II and won’t go back to something like a MKE 600 if I don’t need to.
Keep you content coming it was nice to watch. We are all one! 🌎❤️🕉️

The only advantage the 600 has is that it muffled the background noises. But... at the cost of the voice natural high dynamics, in my opinion, spend the 1000, never worry or question your decision about the best investment ever made

I owned a 416 for years and used it on so many productions for both movies and advertising, I was very curious about the cheap 600... gotta say... it sounds terrible lol! Ok, not terrible but having a 416 i'd never even consider a mic like this one. thanks for the comparison!

in my opinion after your nice video....mke 600 is very good mic and after proper eq they can be almost the same. wind shield help mke 600 and more audio processing. they can be almost same

Retest setting up the mikes properly for the rear lobe test at a horizontal mike placement.
Having the mics at such a crazy angle does not reflect true rear rejection when the rear of those mics pointed in the sky.
    Cheers

The MKH is a better mic but in a very very minor way. The MKE 600 is more versatile which is why I like it. The 600 can use the adapter for a pc or dslr/mirrorless, works great on a camcorder on xlr, and still sounds awesome.
