Great a project and video. I had a Cox .049 and OS Max .15 powering mine. Boat mounted video was a great touch.
I had one years ago. I copied the shape out of foam and fiber glass. It was "unsinkable". Next, I scaled it up to 3x the size with a K+B 40. Lots of fun! In time I used the 3rd channel for a retractable rudder ( so it wouldn't catch on the grass and such ) that was placed 1/3 back from the bow. This made it turn a dime. Next, I added a horizontal stab above the rudder to lift the stern in turns. That's all 4 channels. With mixing, the rudder moves, the forward rudder drops and the h-stab lifts the stern. A bit too much?
Thank You, Nice and informative video. I want to try this a my first build. Please keep that in mind with my questions. What servo did you use? The tubing and cable, What are the dimensions? Did you use epoxy as your glue? What was the final finish you placed on the boat?
What paijnt did you use on the wood?
Coolest one I've seen yet
