In Gravity Front, there was an episode where Zaku Buster Squads and Tank Platoons were featured winning against the technologically superior Zakus... while both eps ended with the squads getting wiped out, it did emphasize the numerical advantage that eventually won the war for the Feddies (i.e Zaku Buster Squads consisting of 4 4-man teams took down 1 squad of 3 Zakus) ... so when the Feddies caught up in tech, they were in a complete advantage

Buts its a shame they get shot down so easy. What the Federation should've done is make an analysis of Amuro Ray's piloting techniques, and use it to optimise their suits maneuvering and defensive programmes.

I wouldnt say gundam design are a complete mess but I do prefer standard Gm’s/Rgm’S because their just grunts with no plot armor or new type abilities. Their just normal pilots trying to get the best preformance with their standard mobile suits to in order change the tide of battle.
Good job! I don't know about others but, one of the times when I started to admire these anonymous heroes was during Char's Counter Attack, in which many grunts feddies arise to assist Amuro holds the fall of Axis. Even more, when no one in fact had ordered them to take an action. They were like the Cavalry, which appears to help the hero, when all seems lost. All the way to honor them is valid.
One day, I hope they make an official OVA series about some badass GM squad, whether it's set during the final days of One Year War, or the squad dealing with Zeon remnants before the Operation Stardust in 0083. I suppose it could be somewhat similar to the Gundam 0081: Battlefield Record game story. BTW, I didn't know the EFSF MS Javelins had made some kills against Zanscare Empire MS, in Victory Gundam, even though I watched it. I only remembered them being canon fodders, haha.
Gundam thunderbolt might be up your alley, though there are times where Gundams are piloted. They fight during the one year war, by the end the war, and then time skip one year to fight Buddhist isis.
I actually have a gundam idea named Gundam Spitfire. Basically, a rookie pilot who is skilled at piloting GM named Anton Harris is recruited into Taskforce Spitfire Alpha, an elite special operation squad of the EFSF using custom GM that specialized in high speed combat. The main character is to become the Stark Jegan pilot from Gundam Unicorn, and his commander is Bask Om, who will later become the high ranking officer of Titans, and they will battle Zeon ace Johnny Ridden.
Actually, in the data book, Fed Fleets fought Zanscare forces to stand still or even defeated them with roughly equal; numbers with older suits and ships.
They might not have the specs like the gundams, but damn, any grunt that'll take on a mech the size of a couple city blocks has straight respect in my book.

LOL, balls = mobile coffins. They did have a use, to spam artillery fire behind GMs. I don't think they even need to aim based on their numbers, just shoot as much as they can before blowing up.
The balls could cover the GMs, but their main purpose by that point in the war was usually to resupply GMs who were too far out and recover downed pilots (theirs and the enemy’s). They were combat support roles.

Many Aces for later conflicts got their skills in the One year War piloting GM's, Balls and Zaku's were their combined life expectancy was measured in hours on most fronts and minutes in the Thunderbolt Sector or against Gundams.
We see so many of the poor dudes die simply because they see the worst combat in every situation. The MS from the EFSF are awesome. and dont forget the brave sons of bitches fighting 18 meter tall death gods in tanks and fighters.
For all its many flaws, I rather liked crossfire. After all its the only gundam game I know that allows me to fire every single one of my weapons at once! I certainly had my share of fun times unloading all my Vulcans at close range on those darn zekes, hope you did too!
I preferred using the Gouf Custom's chaingun with the 90mm before getting in close with the Heat Sword to wreck things... Well, that or spam grenades and head vulcans while closing in with the GM Striker's Twin Beam Spear.

I could understand if you didn't like the aesthetic of the titan suits and didn't want to count the AEUG suits (though you did use the league militaire from victory which is basically the same thing). But I don't get why you would skip that sweet sweet feddie mook suit love from cca and especially unicorn
2:25 is from char's counterattack, and I recall having some difficulty finding footage for unicorn at the time. As for ZZ the feddie suits in it did not get much screen time.

metallavery Titan suits seem to have been developed separately from other federation models. While the Hizack is technically a federation suit, it was primarily used as a Titan model. Their use of the zeon aesthetic I believe is intended to inflict fear, projecting their own fear of zeon on to the people... while ironically becoming as greedy as the zabi family who's very actions they were created to prevent more of. Titans are hand picked, and do not represent the general Federation soldier who found themselves caught under the Titan's heel during 0087. As such, using them would detract from the point of the video, I think.

Some GM variations active during the OYW even surpasses the Gundam in term of power and performence. The RGM-79FP or GM striker for example: a Double beam lance and upgraded thrusters made it a close combat beast. The RGM-79SP or GM sniper 2 was also a beast on every point, having performence and firepower greater than the gundam.
