- The Nagaoka Fireworks are held over two nights from August 2 to 3rd along the banks of the Shinano River. Though the Nagaoka fireworks Festival started since 1879, it became the fireworks display for a memorial service, revival after difficulty such as Nagaoka air raid and the Chuetsu earthquake.
Especially ,Fireworks named Phoenix is a symbol of recovery after the 2004 Niigata Earthquake. The show's finale covers nearly two kilometers of the riverbank and is the widest span of fireworks in the world.
長岡花火大会の始まりは1879年9月14日と15日の2日間、千手町八幡様の祭りに長原などの遊廓関係者がお金を出し合って花火350発を打ち上げたのが始まりとされ、1906年より本格的な花火大会となしました。1945年8月1日の長岡空襲や中越地震などの困難を経て、今では慰霊・復興のための花火大会となっています。
Stunning, I would imaging it being much more so in person. And to think they do this every year. It puts my hometowns' 4th-of-July and New Year displays to shame.

The passfire delays and multi-break, ghost shells are spectacular. Hard to believe this was cutting edge 4 years ago.

There's so many fireworks they're like 40,000 thousand that is too much the fireworks look beautiful so beautiful there sometimes fireworks don't understand if you go to Niagara falls then you see it the fireworks

1 hour show???? wow in my country (Netherlands) they do 5-15 min max! and the firework isnt even the same spectacular its crap in my country if u look at those shells u guys use

Je hebt in Nederland vrij weinig grote shows puur door de wetgeving op het gebied van shows. Plus dat een show met groot vuurwerk ook nog eens verschrikkelijk duur is bij ons. En dan nog, de shows met klein kaliber zijn echt niet slecht die we over het algemeen hebben.
a b al zouden ze in NL alleen shows legaal maken, zullen ze dan een uur lang dikke shells schieten denk je? Denk het niet 😁

I don't like them playing music I like the sound of the fireworks guess I'm just used to it like that .... truly amazing though the craftsman ship that goes into one shell is amazing much less the amount of work that goes into something like this is just amazing
