A third-place finisher in the 2023 Texas Classic Juvenile, the gelded-son of one the all-time leading sires Apollitical Jess qualified in his first outing in 2024 under the tutelage of his new trainer Heath Taylor. The trial race that The Marksman V won also included two other qualifiers that made the field of the 400-yard finals (Wired 440 and San Lencho).
