I think project moon just wanted to show us, how big is difference between our level and color fixer by making Verg appear in battle. This also could imply that other characters can join us in battle, not only color fixers.

I killed about 10-15 and was basically farming them with a charge team comp swapping between rime shank and fluid sac around turn 27 when Vergil appeared
